Job Description:

Utilities Coordinator - Transportation Infrastructure - Georgia

Opportunity:

Parsons is adding a Utilities Coordinator to our team in Atlanta, Georgia, with a focus on supporting the $4.6 billion Georgia SR 400 Express Lanes P3 project. We are a leading design services consultant to the Georgia Department of Transportation and deliver highway and bridge design projects around the State. We are open to a range of experience in this role, with a preference of 5 years or more of relevant experience.

The Utilities Coordinator will work closely with roadway, drainage, structural, traffic, and environmental teams to deliver on infrastructure projects in Georgia and around the region. Our staff is well versed in both traditional and design-build projects and continues to win work and receive accolades from our clients. This is an office-based role in our Peachtree Corners office in metro-Atlanta.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers to evaluate utility coordination needs on a project

  • Main point of coordination between the project design team and utility subconsultants, to oversee technical and schedule performance and to ensure utility information is shared with designers.

  • Must be extensively familiar with typical utilities encountered on transportation infrastructure projects and their general requirements/limitations.

  • Able to read and interpret the project technical provisions to ensure adherence. Design background and experience on design-build projects is required.

  • Assist in development of schedule, scope, fee estimates, and technical provisions

  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure high quality, timely coordination of proposed and existing utility needs

  • Inform design team of critical information to minimize utility impacts in design and construction

  • Collect utility data from appropriate sources, including research of visual evidence, records, and topo

  • Maintain database of utility correspondence

  • Review design plans and utility conflict analysis

  • Review utility work plans for compliance and recommend for approval

  • Review utility relocation cost estimates and agreements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, environmental engineering, construction management or other related field of study

  • 5 years or more of related experience on projects that involve utilities (similar to the role outlined above

  • Experience/proficiency in utilizing MicroStation CAD, and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is desired

  • Experience coordinating with Utilities, utility design, DOT projects required

  • Proven Ability to collaborate on projects and interface with clients and Contractors

Salary Range:

$70,500.00 - $145,800.00
