CIVIL ENGINEER, LAND DEVELOPMENT
SpaceX is preparing to launch at an incredible launch cadence out of multiple launch complexes and process more payloads than ever. Existing and future SpaceX facilities are dynamic, adapting to changing requirements. This role is responsible for providing land development support, technical expertise, and design for new construction and renovations to SpaceX facilities at our launch sites. This position is based out of Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, FL.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own site feasibility and conceptual planning, stormwater management, grading, drainage and utility design, erosion and sediment control
Perform all calculations and conceptual design for grading and drainage, stormwater control facilities, water quality, domestic water distribution, and other underground utilities
Drive coordination and design necessary to obtain local, state, and federal permits as it relates to land development and utility construction projects
Manage the coordination with environmental, health, and safety on permitting and project approvals
Manage the civil aspects of construction projects in the field; including quality control, conflict resolution, and coordination of a multi-discipline contractor team
Interact with contractors, fabricators, owners, and internal clients to develop project requirements, schedules, and cost estimates before project implementation
Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real-time
Support ongoing maintenance of utilities for existing facilities, sites, and launch pads
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
2+ years of professional experience in civil engineering design, analysis, and drafting
2+ years of professional experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience with civil design software packages like StormCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS
Proficiency in technical skills in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading and other site development-related designs
Understanding of other disciplines such as electrical, piping, geotechnical, electrical and surveying
EIT or Professional Engineering (PE) license
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a high-paced, challenging work environment
Experience with project management of major construction projects including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management
Experience in conceptual design and budgeting
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights
Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Ability to focus while working in hazardous conditions and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral

AUTOMATION AND CONTROLS ENGINEER (STARSHIP)
SpaceX is currently seeking talented individuals for a Automation and Controls Engineer position on the Starship heat shield engineering team. You will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge, experience, and creativity to rapidly design, build, and integrate novel systems required for mass production of Starship heat shield tiles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Own the design, build, and integration of high-rate/low-cost production systems for the heat shield tile manufacturing process
Develop material manufacturing systems by utilizing in-depth knowledge of industrial mechanical and fluid systems
Utilize and acquire knowledge of chemistry, materials science, and automation controls to ensure successful delivery of processes to production
Model industrial mechanical assemblies, fluids routing, and facility design using CAD software
Create and release detailed manufacturing drawings, schematics, and work instructions for build and fabrication
Specify and down select components such as sensors, valves, pumps, piping, and tanks, and provide detailed specifications for their purchase
Act as technical point of contact for equipment/system vendors by ensuring deliverables meet system requirements and delivery schedule is met
Own and drive system integration and activation schedules meeting tight deadlines
Work and lead alongside skilled technician teams or contractors
Write procedures for system activation, manufacturing operations, and preventative maintenance
Support design, methodology, and implementation of control systems for heat shield material production by working closely with the automation and controls team
Deliver innovative solutions to assigned areas of ownership under minimal supervision or direction
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, aerospace engineering, materials engineering, or manufacturing engineering
2+ years of experience working in integration/design/build in aerospace, industrial, chemical, or material manufacturing processes
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
4+ years of experience working integration/design/build in aerospace, industrial, chemical, or material manufacturing processes
Hands-on experience working with fluid or mechanical systems in a professional setting
Demonstrated expertise in the design, build, and operation of hazardous processing equipment
Demonstrated expertise in activating and commissioning industrial production systems
Experience using Siemens NX, SOLIDWORKS, or similar CAD software
Experience drafting and updating piping and instrumentation schematics
Experience using SQL or other similar database systems
Familiarity with industrial control systems (such as PLCs)
Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding atmosphere

Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX locations as necessary, anticipated up to 10%

PROCESS TECHNICIAN (STARLINK PCB)
SpaceX is developing a low latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. As a PCB manufacturing technician, you will be working in the many processes within printed circuit board manufacturing in the Starlink factory. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute startup and shutdown procedures for production equipment
Monitor process conditions, equipment, and control systems for state of the art PCB manufacturing equipment which may include metal plating lines, copper etching lines, soldermask printers, water treatment systems, plasma etching systems, laser or mechanical drilling machines, and lamination ovens.
Perform necessary interventions to maintain process parameters. This may include chemical analysis, additions, recipe changes, and machine adjustments

Track schedule for and perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment and instruments
Perform dispositions and rework for nonconforming PCBs

PCB TECHNICIAN (STARLINK)

As a PCB manufacturing technician, you will be working in the many processes within printed circuit board manufacturing in the Starlink factory. This is a versatile and highly skilled, hands on manufacturing job that may include operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, performing chemical analysis and additions, and chemical material handling while meeting goals for output and quality. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute startup and shutdown procedures for production equipment
Monitor process conditions, equipment, and control systems for state of the art PCB manufacturing equipment which may include metal plating lines, copper etching lines, soldermask printers, water treatment systems, plasma etching systems, laser or mechanical drilling machines, and lamination ovens.
Perform necessary interventions to maintain process parameters. This may include chemical analysis, additions, recipe changes, and machine adjustments
Perform first level troubleshooting, provide feedback, and work with maintenance and engineering teams to drive root cause of equipment downtime
Track schedule for and perform preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment and instruments
Perform dispositions and rework for nonconforming PCBs
Provide feedback on failure modes and support engineering to drive root cause of yield limiters
Perform training of production personnel
Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
Maintain inventory of consumables
Safely handle chemicals (including transporting and loading) and chemical handling equipment
Clean chemical processing equipment, machine parts, and tools.
Collect, segregate, and transport waste from generation points to the hazardous waste storage area
Recommend improvements to manufacturing processes and work with engineers to develop, implement, and refine processes with a specific focus on reducing cost and downtime and increasing yield

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Test Operations Technician (Falcon Test) - Level 4 at SpaceX

TEST OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN (FALCON TEST) - LEVEL 4
Test Technicians get to assemble, troubleshoot, repair, and perform regular maintenance and work on integrated rocket hardware, including fuel tanks and integrated stages, as well as supporting test equipment. These technicians enjoy working outside at the rocket development facility, on our robust test stands, supporting test operations first-hand, as well as in the hangar where stage integration takes place. Test Technicians enjoy witnessing the rumbling of rocket engines throughout the day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare test articles, test stands, and systems for test operations
Ensure all test stand related equipment, systems, and servicing are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner
Perform post-test operations and inspections to ensure a flight worthy vehicle
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and instrumentation as needed
Fabricate, repair, and assemble hardware/equipment needed for test operations
Collaborate with engineers to develop and document activities
Ensure all components and materials are clean and inspected according to Clean for Oxygen Service Standards
Operate and maintain hardware, high pressure systems and pumps, and other ancillary equipment including pneumatic components
Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits or certifications as required
Monitor and maintain a reasonable inventory of cryogenic equipment, pneumatic equipment, fittings, hoses, and other supplies necessary to perform test operations
Acquire proper inventory parts and equipment needed for repair or replacement defective components
Process work orders and maintenance tickets
Perform a variety of related duties in support of stage testing, as well as testing site wide, as needed
Develop novel ways site wide to streamline processes and increase the reliability of testing operations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
5+ years of experience working with and troubleshooting mechanical systems, high pressure fluid/pneumatic systems, or heavy equipment
5+ years of experience using power tools, hand tools, and calibrated tooling

A&P license
Experience in airframe structural repair

Integration Technician (Falcon Operations) - Day Shift at SpaceX

INTEGRATION TECHNICIAN (FALCON OPERATIONS) - DAY SHIFT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stage, set up, assemble, test, and install flight hardware
Hands-on operations with both large as well as small, fragile assemblies
Use various mechanical tools without instruction
Maintain and install fluid system components from a schematic or drawing including ball and check valves, pressure regulators and gauges, etc.
Troubleshoot operational issues found during activation of fluid and mechanical systems including but not limited to hydraulic systems, high-pressure nitrogen and helium systems, and cryogenic systems
Work with a team of technicians and engineers to ensure systems and mechanical equipment is built with the highest level of quality to support the successful launch of our multi million dollar launch vehicle. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
