DEVELOPMENT TEST ENGINEER, STRUCTURES (STARSHIP)
This position is a test engineer for the Starship Structural Test team. The team develops, design, builds, and executes large system-level static and dynamic structural tests. The test engineer role is highly multidisciplinary.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with vehicle engineers to develop and execute static and dynamic system level structural tests from conception, including test article and test stand configuration, boundary conditions, fluid, electrical, and software schematics, and concept of operations
Design, modify, and build mechanical systems. Systems include small lugs and brackets through large structural weldments
Design, modify, build, and troubleshoot fluid systems, including low to high pressure gaseous working fluids, rocket propellants (including cryogenic propellants), and hydraulic load control systems
Design, modify, build, and troubleshoot data acquisition and control systems, wiring, and instrumentation. DAQ systems are primarily NI based and instruments include strain gages, pressure transducers, deflection gages, load cells, thermocouples, and RTDs
Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, scripts, configuration files, and software
Operate the test stand from test assembly and activation through test execution with a small team of engineers and technicians
Review data manually or using automatic scripts
Provide daily direction and instruction to technicians to integrate test articles and hardware (install instrumentation and wiring, assemble small and large mechanical components, repair metallic structures, pressurize and functional check of pressure systems, lift and transport large structures)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field
1+ years experience with testing, mechanical or data acquisition and control system design (internships and college competition experience is applicable)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Strong technical skills in one or more of the following areas: mechanical or structural design, data acquisition and instrumentation, programming, fluid and hydraulic design or operation, structural testing
Demonstrated ability to learn new skills or adapt to new situations. Unphased by challenges that go beyond the traditional comfort zone or experience. Multidisciplinary approach to problem solving
Experience in project ownership under technical and schedule pressure and where the scope and definition was limited
Experience testing and operating with or around hazardous systems (high pressure, high energy, hazardous gases and fluids, etc.)
Experience working on projects that involve the integration of electrical, mechanical, and software systems (launch vehicle and/or spacecraft experience is not required)

Flight hardware typically is built in tight quarters, so physical dexterity is required
Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings and climbing hand over hand

FACILITIES ENGINEER, MEP
As a member of the Construction Projects Team, you will work with engineers across multiple disciplines to design, build, and activate infrastructure that will enable SpaceX to achieve its long-term mission. This team is responsible for the delivery of large capital projects to various internal customer groups across the company. This position is based out of our Rocket Development Facility in McGregor, TX. Travel may accompany this role, and based on business needs, opportunities to work at other SpaceX facilities may occur in the future.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the project team, consulting engineers and contractors throughout the entirety of the MEP engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process
Develop and issue drawings, design documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type projects
Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
Coordinate with electrical utility provider for design/engineering to ensure reliable power service to critical site infrastructure
Interact with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project stakeholders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline
3+ years of professional experience with the design or build of MEP building systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Primary experience with electrical and power distribution systems (<600Vac)
Knowledge of HVAC operation and design principles including refrigeration, chillers, boilers, and air handling equipment
Experience with plumbing design and operation including domestic water, waste water, venting, and storm systems
Working knowledge of delta/wye transformers, building lighting, building construction specifications, and facility grounding
Experience with critical power infrastructure including UPS systems, backup generators, and automatic transfer switches
Experience creating and implementing process/design solutions with minimal impact to business operations
Able to quickly assess an issue and assist technicians with troubleshooting and repair
Ability to work in a high-concentration, high-stress environment, under possible extended work hours and tight deadlines
Acute attention to detail, ability to see interactions with other systems to avoid problems
AutoCAD/Revit - Beginner to intermediate skill level
Familiarity with National Electric Code, ASHRAE, National Fire Protection Association, and International Building Code

TEST OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN (FALCON TEST)
Test Technicians get to assemble, troubleshoot, repair, and perform regular maintenance and work on integrated rocket hardware, including fuel tanks and integrated stages, as well as supporting test equipment. These technicians enjoy working outside at the rocket development facility, on our robust test stands, supporting test operations first-hand, as well as in the hangar where stage integration takes place. Test Technicians enjoy witnessing the rumbling of rocket engines throughout the day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare test articles, test stands, and systems for test operations
Ensure all test stand related equipment, systems, and servicing are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner
Perform post-test operations and inspections to ensure a flight worthy vehicle
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and instrumentation as needed
Fabricate, repair, and assemble hardware/equipment needed for test operations
Collaborate with engineers to develop and document activities
Ensure all components and materials are clean and inspected according to Clean for Oxygen Service Standards
Operate and maintain hardware, high pressure systems and pumps, and other ancillary equipment including pneumatic components
Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits or certifications as required
Monitor and maintain a reasonable inventory of cryogenic equipment, pneumatic equipment, fittings, hoses, and other supplies necessary to perform test operations
Acquire proper inventory parts and equipment needed for repair or replacement defective components
Process work orders and maintenance tickets
Perform a variety of related duties in support of stage testing, as well as testing site wide, as needed
Develop novel ways site wide to streamline processes and increase the reliability of testing operations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
3+ years of experience working with and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems, high pressure fluid/pneumatic systems, or heavy equipment
3+ years of experience using power tools, hand tools, and calibrated tooling
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree in an engineering, technical, or mechanical field
A&P license
Experience in airframe structural repair
Experience in aviation electronics and avionics
Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) certification or training
Experience with testing process and optimization of test processes
Experience with hydraulic plumbing repair/fabrication
Experience in ground support equipment in aerospace industry
Experience in the space exploration industry, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environment

SpaceX is looking for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all maintenance activities at the SpaceX Starship production site, Boca Chica. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor will maintain and troubleshoot the most advanced machines and equipment required to produce our rockets and spacecraft. This will include automotive assets, heavy transit vehicles, heavy industrial lifting equipment, diesel engine maintenance, Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMT), small engine repair, and various types of industrial equipment. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring work is completed based on work order schedules and emergency breakdowns.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create/update work order for asset in failure: Support the production team with establishing the type of corrective maintenance and timelines, based on the analyses of each asset in failure, in order to create reduction in equipment downtime.
Scheduling: Responsible for assigning technicians and contractors to preventative maintenance, unplanned downtime, and improvement project based work orders.
Execute work order and monitor execution: Responsible for supervising the execution of downtime work orders and monitoring progress. Step in to support troubleshooting as needed to ensure a timely completion. Communicate progress to the stakeholders at any time during the work. Use metrics such as mean time to repair, mean time to failure, average response time, and equipment availability.
Verify result work order: Responsible for checking whether all activities have been executed as planned and checking whether the asset, is working again, according to required values. Establishes possible residual effects and takes required action to prevent production limiting scenarios.
Accept result work order & handover asset to production: Responsible for running tests on the asset and when applicable establish deviations, after a successful test hands over the asset to production.
Root cause analysis: Responsible for root cause analysis reports to feedback learning and improvement opportunities to the maintenance manager and asset owners to further improve maintenance performance.
Skills management: Assign the correct skills to each work order and maintain a skills matrix for all technicians and identify their training needs.
Reports: Keep a daily log of activities and create major breakdown reports. Manage workforce shift utilization and absence request.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of experience in leadership role or advanced vocational position with a minimum of 6 years of experience in a maintenance role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide tactical and strategic long range scheduling expertise to our production teams

BUILD ENGINEER, INTEGRATION AND CATCH TOWER (STARSHIP)
The integration and catch tower will redefine ground support systems for launch vehicles as we know it, with the ultimate goal being to launch, catch, and relaunch orbital boosters in hours or days instead weeks or months. The Build Engineer role covers design for manufacturability concepts through integration and testing of the full tower. You will be highly engaged on the primary and secondary structures of the tower, including designing tooling (assembly aides, welding, part fixturing, etc.) and processes (welding, large part movement, large structure integration) to rapidly build early versions of the tower. Further along in the build this you will be responsible for items such as integration operations sequencing and working with technicians on installing flight-critical hardware on the tower. Throughout the build, you will be responsible for documenting processes and driving continual improvement to them for future builds. Furthermore, Build Engineers will be expected to sometimes act as de-facto supervisors and advisors to production technicians, welders, and other skilled labor partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with analysts and design team to ensure solutions meet the requirements for tower design as well as the manufacturing processes
Develop production procedures/processes and manage the transition of parts and assemblies from development to production
Coordinate and execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing of systems and tooling needed to meet hardware deadlines
