Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

You will start your career in close collaboration with a mentor.

As you become familiar and proficient with software development processes and capabilities you will:

• Within 30 days, be capable at installing a development environment including checking code and replacing components as needed.

• Within 60 days, be competent in installation and triage of an Internet Protocol (IP) networking issue.

• Within 90 days, development competency in an aspect of the product and resolve some software issues .

• Within a year, deliver a feature as part of a team of engineers

You will be part of the US-based team for which the team members for which team members are located in the Pacific, Central and Eastern time zones. You will have a mentor who will guide you through your onboarding to VMware and also connect you with team members and colleagues across the company.

Where is this role located?

Remote: This role is fully remote, allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable, or the location agreed upon with your hiring manager. You will be expected to live within a number of time zones from your team as defined by your business.

As the Service Delivery Executive, you will have responsibility for VMWare's larger strategic customers realizing the value of their investment in VMware software and services, in collaboration with sales teams. In this role, you will work closely with our customer and key VMware stakeholders to shape and lead transformational programs and will share responsibility to the customer for the business outcomes enabled through VMware solutions.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

• The Service Delivery Executive is a senior strategic role with a wide span of responsibility and control:

• You will help support and maintain the executive relationship with the customer in concert with Core and PS Sales and serve as a trusted advisor, advocate and the main Services Delivery contact to the senior level of customer leadership for the professional services delivery.

• You will be accountable for the overall consumption and adoption motion for the customer, including orchestrating efforts of all VMware functions and coordination with other partners on the account.

• You will assist in driving overall account growth by working with the Professional Services sales lead to help identify and develop new opportunities for VMware Professional Services.

• You will achieve or help attain organizational success metrics (licenses, services bookings, revenue, NPS).

If you are a proven leader with strong client relationship, consulting and program management skills, used to working at C-Level and have a successful track record in supporting business development, client-side delivery, benefit realization, staff development and team management, then this role is for you.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• Own overall accountability across the Customer Experience and Success (CXS) organization for consumption and the service delivery experience:

o Govern all VMware services delivery teams and serve as the primary point of contact for the customer and VMware

o Provide executive communication internally and externally on services activity o Drive internal and customer escalations to resolution, collaborating with internal VMware teams

o Manage account level risks, issues and mitigation strategies

o Ensure quality of delivered services

o Orchestrate VMware functional teams to maximize collaboration and alignment with customer strategic objectives

o Act as a customer advocate for feature enhancements, product roadmap, and product issue resolution, engaging internal VMware teams to increase visibility, collaboration, and alignment with the customer needs

• In conjunction with the services sales team, establish account services strategy / consumption and develop current/future growth plans for 3-5 yrs.

• Ensure services plans are tied into the overall Account Success and Consumption plan

• Work hand in hand with the core account team to provide strategic direction for the account

• Focus on all CXS lines of business and seek new business opportunities

• Evaluate and qualify opportunities to determine win-win capabilities for VMware and customer

• As a key member of the Account Team, work to review proposals, establish scopes of work, direct the opportunity pipeline and to ensure VMware solutions are aligned with the customers transformation objectives

• Sustain high level of customer satisfaction

• Accountable for the account contribution margin

• Be an advocate for VMware services, and a champion for the services teams with both VMware and Customer Executive stakeholders

• Collaborate to develop competitive account positioning, client messaging, and sales plays that effectively promote the advantages of VMware transformational offerings

The Cloud Infrastructure Business Group (CIBG) is responsible for developing and delivering core Virtualization products such as vSphere, Workstation, Fusion, vSAN and VMware Cloud foundation, the platform for hybrid cloud. The vSAN team is part of Cloud Infrastructure Organization and is responsible for providing an enterprise-class, storage virtualization software that, when combined with vSphere, allows customers to manage compute and storage with a single platform. The vSAN team is looking for a developer to work on next generation file system project. The engineer will be part of the vSAN core team responsible for developing new vSAN features and products based on an enterprise-class virtualization platform. The team member will work with architects, product management teams and other stakeholders across sites to design and develop new features and products. They will also collaborate with the Quality Engineers to ensure the quality of the developed products. Duties will include design, implementation, testing, and debugging. The engineer will also interact with other core engineering teams and groups outside of engineering in Storage and Availability Business Unit in helping analyze and prioritize product features, interact with partners, and enablement.

• Design and develop the next generation of storage virtualization products.

• Work for complex distributed systems algorithms.

• Work on networking protocols native to VSAN and can debug vmkernel networking stack.
