The Opportunity

As a dedicated Benefits Advisor Senior , you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, ongoing administration and assessment of our Employee Wellness and Behavioral Health Programs and Services . You will assess enterprise risk regarding benefit programs and services associated with legislative, regulatory, market and expense trends.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Applies sophisticated knowledge of wellness programs integrated with medical, mental health, pharmacy and onsite wellness services in a large company setting.

  • Develops data driven wellness strategies and solutions.

  • Identifies gaps/opportunities, keeps updated with industry trends and legislative changes to improve population health and wellness.

  • Align wellness solutions and patient/employee experiences in physical and emotional wellness between carriers, vendors and onsite services.

  • Build internal and external strategic Wellness relationships to bring community presence and USAA together (EX: UT Health for weight loss and mental health support).

  • Lead and participate in multiple key wellness initiatives.

  • Evaluates new concepts and solutions, providing thought leadership aligned with the HR strategy and the total rewards philosophy.

  • Uses high level influence to socialize the value of new or changing benefit programs and provides recommendation on the overall cost of proposed changes; Gains collaborator consensus and approval of recommendations.

  • Responsible for the enterprise-wide pandemic plan and Point of Dispensing (POD) program.

  • Coordinates and provides direction for the enterprise-wide drug testing program.

  • Takes ownership of total rewards experiences by collaborating with partners to improve employee interactions with total rewards programs and systems.

  • Collaborate with lines of business/Subject Matter Experts to improve the processes and technology associated with their respective programs.

  • Manage forecast and budget for responsible program(s)

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, audited, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 6 years of experience in employee and retiree benefit plans, programs and services, to include health & welfare (self & fully insured programs), retirement benefits, plan design, experience in benefits financial analysis, metric development, benefits supplier management, regulatory compliance and day-to-day administration and operations.

  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques.

  • Understanding of outsourced benefits administration and how to provide oversight of outsourced functions and programs.

  • Experience with documenting processes and identifying required controls; to include recommending and implementing solutions and responding effectively to sensitive inquires and complaints.

  • Advanced knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution plans, deferred compensation and Health and Welfare plans.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, FMLA.

We are seeking a dedicated Director, Compliance Risk Management - P&C to join our team. In this role, you will directly provide and manage a team providing second-line independent oversight on business products, services, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. You and your team will play a critical role in helping manage market conduct examinations, data requests, and other regulatory interactions. You will foster outstanding working relationships with federal and state regulators. What you'll do:

  • Provides oversight and manages through changes in the regulatory environment.

  • Oversees compliance risk management activities in accordance with enterprise compliance policies and procedures.

The Opportunity

As a dedicated Benefits Advisor Senior , you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, ongoing administration and assessment of our Employee Wellness and Behavioral Health Programs and Services . You will assess enterprise risk regarding benefit programs and services associated with legislative, regulatory, market and expense trends.

  • Identifies, monitors, and manages action plans to address risk and performance issues/findings. Follows approved escalation processes to ensure timely issue resolution and completion of action plans. Assists leadership in preparing responses to regulatory inquiries involving assigned relationships.

  • Partners with first-line of defense (i.e., Business Risk and Control Advisors) and second-line of defense partners (i.e., Risk, Compliance) to develop, implement and monitor operational controls that enable effective management and deliver expected performance from integrated business processes (end- to-end USAA and third-party execution).

  • Ensures contract documentation accurately reflects products/services provided via assigned third-party relationships and monitors third-party's ability to deliver against contractual requirements and service level agreements. Reconciles and ensures payment of third-party relationship invoices, purchase orders and spend management.

As a dedicated Director, Fraud Prevention and Detection, you will provide oversight and manage the strategic direction of fraud risk at USAA. Directs tactical operational issues and resolution activities related to financial fraud at USAA. Protects member assets by minimizing fraud loss, risk exposure and by providing optimal customer service. Implements and executes business plans, drives and champions change and provides feedback to senior management.

The Opportunity

  • Develops strategies and solutions to enable USAA members to conduct business (open new accounts, maintenance accounts, move money/make payments, debit/credit cards, etc.) while reducing fraud risk.

  • Develops and completes strategies, objectives, and business plans.

  • Ensures activities are aligned with the corporate mission, strategy, and objectives to protect the USAA.

  • Develops managers and staff knowledge and collaborates with Fraud Strategy to ensure outstanding detection solutions are delivered in a timely, efficient manner.

  • Develops solutions (technical and nontechnical) that enable outstanding member experience while mitigating fraud risks and abiding all governing rules and mentorship imposed by regulatory bodies.

  • Assists in the advancement of USAA products and channels, enabling member functionality and transactions while balancing risk and controls.

  • Collaborates with business partners to plan, prepare, and forecast potential losses, develop mitigating controls and educate business collaborators on fraud schemes and industry trends.

  • Develops key metrics and reports trends, industry developments and standard methodologies.

  • Presents information to executive management to raise fraud awareness and education.

  • Builds and leads all aspects of a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 8 years of financial services experience, to include at least 3 years of fraud or operational experience in one or more of the following areas: check, wire, ACH, securities/brokerage, card, ID theft, corporate security investigations, collections underwriting, risk, compliance, internal audit, or other related experience.

  • 3 years of direct team lead or management experience.

  • 3 years of experience working with federal regulations as they relate to bank security, investigations, case creation, SAR filing, and recovery.

  • Subject-matter-expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience developing strategies and managing major initiatives pertaining to Fraud operations and/or Bank operational risk.

  • Experience leading teams responsible for banking operations, fraudulent review, and regulations that relate to funds availability, check kiting and check fraud.

  • Expert knowledge of REG CC, REG E, or REG Z Certificates and Designations Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) preferred fraudulent activities for a wide range of enterprise financial products and services.

  • Extensive knowledge of the Bank's fraud prevention controls, risk processes, systems, and data environments.

  • Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: Reg CC, Reg E

Positioned in the first line of defense to ensure the overall effectiveness of risk and compliance management programs, risk analytics and operations in the business. This role will partner and collaborate with Compliance and Risk Management, as well as Business Operations, IT, Audit Services, and Regulators to support risk and compliance-based initiatives. Responsible for supporting business leader adherence to the established risk framework and ongoing supervision of business controls including risk and control self-assessments, identification and evaluation of control effectiveness, identifying control failures, facilitating risk and compliance remediation, internal and external audits and regulatory exams, and monitoring of the first line of defense to minimize risk exposures and strengthen the overall control environment. Manages risk assessment data and uses critical thinking to identify key data-driven insights tied to first line of defense.

What you'll do:

  • Advises the business on how to strengthen and manage their control environment pertaining to oversight of procedures/process, accurate regulatory reporting and filing, document governance, risk control self-assessments, procedure governance, control design, new product controls, CoSA Third Party Governance, or quality governance.

  • Performs ongoing supervision and oversight of business controls which may include the coordination of testing, root cause analysis, control design, and examining key risk metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of established business controls.

  • Performs risk data analysis, report preparation and trend analysis, utilizing business intelligence tools.

  • Partners with business owners to assist them in the identification of control failures and assesses the impact.

  • Assists with translating control deficiencies into action plans and facilitates effective and timely risk remediation through action plan oversight; provides recommendations to enhance governance practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.

  • Maintains processes, procedures, and tools for managing exception alerts as they occur, including monitoring of resulting exception cases.
