What you'll do:

We are seeking a dedicated Experience Owner - Third Party Injury & Litigation.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Chesapeake, VA; Charlotte, NC or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Proactively manages and measures experience lifecycle from conception to release, iteration and maintenance, optimizing the outcome for the product/experience while prioritizing work and communicating with stakeholders to ensure delivery of experience expectations across all channels, to include digital.

  • Measures, evaluates, visualizes, and communicates experience performance, member interactions and its financial impact on the business.

  • Implements tactical and strategic actions related to product and or business need.

  • Responsible for financial, regulatory, and operational risk management related to the experience, risk mitigation and effective control environment prioritizing closing any gaps or findings.

  • Identifies, prioritizes, develops and releases IT work in partnership with IT, Design and other key stakeholders to deliver value across experience(s).

  • Leverages human-centered design methodology with key stakeholders, partners, and process owners to drive design improvements for end users.

  • Proactively facilitates and drives the end-to-end ownership and management of experiences and processes in all relevant channels to members and/or employees.

  • Aligns focus of stakeholders towards a unified experience that serves members', employees', and business' needs.

  • Establishes and monitors key Performance Indicators (KPIs), member insights, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs); ensures correct data and instrumentation for the experience and related sub-processes; uses data to improve experiences.

  • Partners with Enterprise stakeholders to promote Member experiences and/or Business Deliverables that are aligned to strategic outcomes and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Partners with process owners to ensure ongoing documentation and process certification and experience(s) which includes control plans, understanding the tools used in the respective process or experience, identification and measurement of metrics for success and adherence to applicable regulatory guidelines.

  • Partners with process owners to ensure strategy execution and delivery is fulfilled through ongoing change management, leveraging data to assess business problems and system enhancements.

  • Identifies acceptable performance limits and establishes and leads management routines and control plans to monitor performance and react accordingly when the process is out of acceptable limits.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree (10 years of experience in lieu of a degree).

  • 6 years of experience in customer experience, strategy, process, analytics, digital, user experience design or marketing OR Master's degree and 4 years of relevant experience in customer experience, strategy, process analytics, digital, user experience design or marketing.

  • 4 years of progressive related experience developing, implementing, executing, creating and/or managing customer or employee experience strategies, major initiatives and delivering results within a complex matrix environment required.

  • Understanding of best practices for implementing a voice-of-the-customer program, including selecting appropriate listening posts based on the channel and type of touchpoint.

  • In-depth understanding of process improvement approach, including leveraging analysis and critical thinking to identify opportunities for improvement, and quickly evaluating potential solutions for feasibility & reasonableness.

  • Demonstrated experience identifying key performance indicators to measure before & after changes to determine improvement, effectiveness, and identify unintended consequence.

  • Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated success at executing and refining strategies that support productive, efficient, successful, and mission critical experiences.

  • Experience in implementing and sustaining change/improvements (change champion).

  • Hands-on experience with using customer feedback to improve a process or experience.

What sets you apart:

  • 4+ years 3rd Party Injury Claims experience

  • Six Sigma or program/project management designations

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work against clearly define outcome-oriented goals, metrics, and KPI

  • Demonstrated experience in using data to improve outcomes and drive results.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify risks and create appropriate controls.

  • Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal, at all levels to include Sr. EMG

As a dedicated Actuarial Analyst III, you will coordinate, prepare and perform actuarial analyses required to develop new products, project future results, reprice existing products, and/or determine financial strength.   • Acquire and applies foundational knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.

  • Utilize actuarial modeling software for pricing, valuation, and/or risk management.

  • Enter data and tables, runs models, and generates reports.

  • May make adjustments and improvements to models, when appropriate.

  • Maintain proper price level, price structure, data availability and other requirements to achieve profitability and competitive goals.

  • Identify critical experience areas to monitor and suggest timely remedies to correct or prevent unfavorable trends.

  • Identify sources of gain and loss by product and assumption.

  • Test pricing assumptions and the appropriate premiums, interests margins, reserves, and cash values for new products.

  • Seek guidance from team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation.

  • Adhere to the USAA Actuarial Exam Program Guidelines and the Actuarial Cross Train Program Guidelines.

  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR 4 additional years of Actuarial/business/analytical experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of Degree.

  • Up to 2 years Actuarial/business/analytical experience + 1 or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams completed

What sets you apart:

  • Familiarity with Excel and at least one programming language or modeling software package (Python, SQL, R, SAS, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience aggregating and analyzing data to solve problems

  • Ability to effectively communicate insights and solutions to broad audiences including actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders

  • Personal lines pricing experience

  • Familiarity and experience with industry pricing software such as Earnix

  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner [optional]

What you'll do:

  • Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Investigate claim damages including communicating with the insured and third parties/vendors. May require face-to-face interactions with members and third parties.

  • Review facts of loss and vehicle damage to determine if subrogation opportunities exist and makes the appropriate, timely system referral.

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, contracts, and internal processes/systems/procedures to ensure compliance.

  • Review claims/suppliers for fraud indicators and refers to Special Investigative Unit for handling, if applicable.

  • Maintain accurate and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process for complex claims. Includes mapping of repair plan and timeline for repair.

  • Responsible for reviewing additional damages received from repair facilities to either complete a supplement or triage to field provider method of inspection.

  • May serve as a subject matter expert representative for disputed claims or trials. Serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues of a routine nature.

  • Partner with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate highest complexity claims resolution. May also involve external regulatory coordination to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance.

  • Explain coverage, assists policyholders with information on repairs and describes the settlement process, setting appropriate expectations. Issues settlement amounts for damages claimed.

  • Support workload surges and/or Catastrophe Operations as needed which may involve volunteering for extended hours. May serve as permanent member of the APD Catastrophe team.

  • 2+ years of auto appraising experience

  • Knowledge of P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages, auto parts distribution process and claim appraisal process and procedures

Field Property Adjusters focus on using technology and desk adjusting for a virtual first approach to inspections and claims handling. USAA also provides a company vehicle to physically inspect losses within your locally assigned territory. Field Adjusters may travel outside of their local territory to respond to claims in other regions when needed. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with paid overtime available.

What you'll do:

  • Identifies and handles existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

  • Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.

  • Handle assigned claims' caseload comprised of claims with complex damages including specialty claims. Updates initial reserve levels.

  • Identifies coverage concerns, reviews prior loss history, determines and creates Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals, when appropriate.

  • Figures out coverage through analyzing information involving complex policy terms and contingencies.

  • Communicates with insured about coverage or any issues that involve additional information or considerations regarding settlement amount.

  • Resolves and negotiates complex claims settlement and makes recommendations to management for settlement amounts outside of authority limits.

  • Maintains accurate and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process for complex claims.

  • Proficient knowledge of estimating technology platforms to prepare claims estimates in order to manage complex property insurance claims.

  • Serves as a resource for less experienced staff, providing informal coaching as appropriate.

  • Recognizes and solves obstacles that occurs in the claims process without supervisory approval.

  • May require limited travel to resolve claims and conduct in-person inspections.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2 years' relevant property claims adjusting experience of moderate complexity that includes writing estimates involving dwelling and structural damages

  • Successfully acquire Property & Casualty (P&C) adjuster license and state registrations within 90 days of hire

  • Proficient knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating platform

  • Advanced knowledge estimating losses of moderate complexity

  • Proficient knowledge of property claims contracts and interpretation of case law

  • Proven negotiation, investigation, communication and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the year (local & non-local) and/or work catastrophe duty when needed

  • Responsible for executing multiple areas of complex test work during audit activities. Executes audit documentation techniques including key risks and controls alignment to audit test objectives and conclusions and assigning appropriate issue severity.

  • Manages day to day engagement-related efforts and assignments of Audit team members with varying degrees of expertise and experience when conducting engagements as the Auditor-in-Charge (AIC).

  • Develops and independently updates risk & control matrix at the engagement level for each engagement

  • Develops and verifies accuracy of content within audit reports and conducts continuous monitoring activity documentation.

  • Reviews work of team members; providing feedback/questions and completes audit team end of engagement evaluations when applicable.

  • Ensures engagements are completed objectively, professionally, and in accordance with corporate and industry audit standards. Makes recommendations for severity ratings to Senior Audit Manager (SAM)/Director. May communicate with regulators.

  • Utilizes and provides guidance to team members on the use of audit business systems, applications, and/or audit tools to create queries and ad hoc reports.

  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data collected from multiple sources to ensure valid conclusions from audit testing are drawn.

  • Identifies control weaknesses and

  • opportunities for improvement in the current operating environment and provides recommendations for corrective action; drafts the related audit issues and audit reports with oversight from audit leadership for issuance to respective client leadership and coordinates and/or conducts follow-up activities.

  • Leads team audit activities and provides feedback on planning and scoping, and review of risk assessment and testing that demonstrates critical thinking ability.

  • Builds and develops relationships both internally within Audit Services and externally with clients and control partners to help drive strategic objectives with the business and effectively challenges business action plans. Communicates effectively with the business/clients and delivers risk-based and difficult messages regarding issues and control weaknesses to ensure proper risk assurance coverage.

  • Provides day to day mentor guidance and on the job training to team members to ensure development, quality and timely audit engagement deliverables.

  • Provides information from audit results and insight to assists Audit Leadership in the updating of risk profiles and risk assessments related to the engagement.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business, or Information Technology. Four additional years of related experience beyond minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • 6 years of audit, financial, insurance, banking, information technology or related business and/or leadership experience.

  • Experience performing internal audits, external audits, or applying audit, risk, or compliance skill in a complex operational and regulatory environment.

  • Knowledge of internal audit principles or initiative to examine, analyze, assess, and draw conclusions from audit work and present findings to multiple audiences.

  • Demonstrated experience effectively communicating and challenging Controls with business partners and leaders.

The Business Process Owner Senior, plans, directs, and coordinates activities for complex processes, including problem definition, evaluation of requirements, design, testing, and implementation of business processes. Understands the process operating objectives, business rules, performance requirements, risks, and controls and interactions between dependent processes to minimize failures, eliminate redundancies, and control process performance necessary to achieve efficient, effective design and execution of the process.
