Job Description

The MedServ Group provides high quality care to residents in healthcare settings such as nursing home/rehab facilities. We are currently searching for a talented Podiatry Assistant to join our team! You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality podiatry care to our patients under the supervision of a Podiatrist. The ideal candidate is committed to delivering quality patient care to the elderly with their safety, comfort, and dignity always in mind.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assist Podiatrist working in long term care facilities

• Help prepare patients for examinations/treatment by sitting them up &socks/shoes on

• Promote podiatric health by counseling and educating patients

• Assist with all clinical/ administrative documentation as needed

• Work with facility representative(s) to address any podiatry-related issues as needed

Dental Assistant Qualifications:

• Previous podiatry assistant/ office or CNA experience preferred

• Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Candidates must be punctual, organized and computer literate

• A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics

• Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills

Dermatologist Responsibilities include:

• Examining, diagnosing, and treating patients with a variety of skin conditions, ranging from acute to chronic and benign to malignant.

• Documenting and reviewing patients' histories and documenting them in the EHR.

• Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests.

• Prescribing and administering antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infections or injuries.

• Work with the Medical Director, clinical, and administrative teams in a cohesive and productive manner.

Dermatologist Requirements include:

• Must be a Board Certified Physician or Nurse Practitioner in Dermatology or eligible to work under one

• Either a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Nurse Practitioner (N.P.) specializing in Dermatology from an approved university & active New York state license

Responsibilities include:

• Examine patients' legs and feet to diagnose diseases

• Treat foot and leg injuries, like fractures, feet corn and calluses

• Refer foot and ankle surgeries where necessary

• Prescribe joint pain relief medication and foot orthoses that improve mobility

• Advise patients on foot care and general wellness practices

• Order additional medical tests (like X-rays, ultrasounds and bone density tests) to form a better diagnosis if necessary

Podiatrist Requirements include:

• doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine (DPM)

• 2+ years' experience practical experience in a clinic or hospital

• Excellent knowledge of therapeutic and surgical treatments for the lower extremities

• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with the elderly
