WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Construction Manager for our Richmond, VA office with experience providing construction and technical direction on building/facilities construction related projects. Our ideal candidate will have experience in construction oversight of small to medium, multi-discipline projects from the time of assignment to commissioning, close-out, and turnover to client.

Your Impact
Supporting the Project Manager in tendering works, bid reviews and bid analysis.
Managing construction projects upon award of contracts.
Contractor coordination.
Budget monitoring & schedule monitoring with adherence to cost and delivery contractual commitments.
Construction monitoring and thorough documentation of project delivering a weekly report on project status.
Maintaining a weekly construction log in a terse, professional format..
Record and document significant verbal, telephone, and media messaging
Quality control, documentation and resolution of poor-quality fabrication, installation or materials by general contractor, trade disciplines, and suppliers
Change order control, including detailed knowledge of change and contractual requirements.
Job safety, monitoring, and compliance with WSP and USPS's safety, health and environmental (SH&E) requirements
Project start-up meetings and documentation and attendance in meetings including safety program.
Manage and assist in responding to RFI's, material and equipment submittals and shop drawings.
Interface with client as required or defined for program.
Project turnover of documentation, to include but not limited to; as-built drawings, training manuals, OEM installation/ operation & maintenance manuals.
Equipment and systems testing and commissioning.
Field assignments are local and regional depending on technical capabilities and desire to travel. Overnight travel is estimated to be up to 100%.
Implementation of standards in compliance with USPS/WSP program requirements and seeks guidance and direction from Sr. construction managers in the planning, execution, and delivery of similar project requirements.
Possess knowledge of construction processes.
Demonstrate construction management skills in the management of integration/coordination of project elements, scope management, time management, cost management, quality assurance, managing changes in priorities and communication management in the generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and ultimate disposition of project information.
Ensure that projects are successfully completed on schedule, within the approved budget and in accordance with applicable quality standards and contract requirements.
Fully vetted in OSHA 29 CFR 1926 (10-hour certification) for compliance with all USPS/WSP applicable Environmental, Health and Safety requirements in the performance of the projects.
Clear and precise record keeping meeting contract requirements and regulatory requirements.
Types of buildings worked with include, but are not limited to offices, light industrial facilities, maintenance facilities.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Experience working with outside 3rd party vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
Minimum of 7 years of experience and demonstrated success with construction management or related disciplines.
Ability to self-motivate with an entrepreneurial spirit. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, MS Project. Familiar with Blue-Beam, AutoCAD, and project management software such as Procore a plus, but not required (candidate must be willing to learn software as applicable).
Experience working with direct and indirect resources, minimum of 5+ years acting in a construction management capacity or supervisory role on light industrial or commercial projects.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance. Negotiation and construction management experience/skills.
Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with technical disciplines.
Strong organizational skills.
Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, floor plans, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules as they relate to architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, & building structures
Physical Demands
Must have the ability to stoop, sit, stand, or be on their feet for extended periods of time and be able to handle standard field-testing equipment.
Must have the ability to work in varying environments (office, and field settings) and be willing to travel.

Takes part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector. Tasks may include assistance with the inspection, load rating, testing, and design of bridges. Your Impact
Perform Field work inspecting bridges throughout the southeast for deterioration and structural damage.
Assist with report writing for the inspection work completed in the fields.
Assist with planning and preparation of field inspection trips and maintaining field equipment and supplies.
Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures to ensure work is completed in a correct manner.

Provide basic technical assistance that accounts for the proper inspection, construction, and functioning of buildings, highways, roads, bridges, structures, infrastructure, equipment, and/or mechanical systems according to design standard specifications.
Work collaboratively with other professionals, scientists, engineers, inspectors, project control, and technicians on assigned inspection phases, checks, and tasks.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma.
Minimum of 3 years of prior construction inspection or NBIS bridge inspection experience.

Physically capable of performing field work including climbing ladders (40ft or less) and in close quarters, carrying ladders and gear, working in adverse weather conditions, etc.

Our Water team is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern to work out of our San Diego, CA office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.
This internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program. As a summer intern, you have the opportunity to participate in our 12-week program scheduled to start on May 19th, 2025. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible.
Your Impact
Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Learn basic principles of Water Resources Engineering.
Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.

Perform and document, as needed, root cause analysis, lessons learned / best practice reviews to support continuous improvement initiatives
Provide early notification to senior management and Quality Director on projects with Quality concerns or issues
Facilitate Quality training for all new employees and refresher training at required intervals

Required Qualifications

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Project Coordinator to join our Environment & Infrastructure Team serving a dual role as project controls analyst for the Southern States Western District. Provides technical environmental planning assistance to minimize the environmental impacts of commercial, industrial, utility, transmission, development, infrastructure, construction, pipeline, and/or transportation related projects. Tasks may include permitting, site and impact assessment, restoration, land use management plans, public involvement, and ensuring environmental regulatory compliance. Generates accurate and concise documentation, assessing and advising on project areas by applying and integrating urban and regional planning with a focus on sustainability. Your Impact
Collect, identify, and compile observational, spatial, operations, and environmental data from multiple matrices for projects, research, and surveys.
Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS data, and other visualization tools to determine exact locations of project areas, site impact, habitat types, and associated physical and wildlife sensitivities.
Assist with preparing environmental survey reports, data entry, impact assessment, and permitting activities for assigned projects (e.g. Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act permitting, CEQA, NEPA, etc.).
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, demographics, patterns and trends, statistical analysis, and reporting.
Perform professional environmental planning work and assist with conducting investigations, inspections, and environmental studies and surveys to gain further information on a particular environmental problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future environmental needs.
Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, field/work site notes, and software.
Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of environmental data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for low to mid-level threat mitigation and permitting activities projects to minimize impacts to the health of the environment and the population.
Assist with developing strategic planning and permitting execution strategies for clients on small- to medium-sized projects.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience.)
3 to 5 years of experience working in the environmental planning field, completing environmental surveys, fieldwork, habitat and construction support, impact assessments, and permitting.
Additionally, 3 to 5 years of direct CEQA (preparing documents) experience.

5+ years of experience in Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering.
PE or RA registration.
Due to project requirements, US Citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain a US Government issued Secret level Security Clearance.
Experience in Managing and delivering USNavy/NAVFAC and/or USACE/DoD projects.
In-depth understanding of national and local codes and ability to analyze and implement building and zoning codes, as well as specific agency requirements and design standards.

Collect, identify, and compile observational, spatial, operations, and environmental data from multiple matrices for projects, research, and surveys.
Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS data, and other visualization tools to determine exact locations of project areas, site impact, habitat types, and associated physical and wildlife sensitivities.
Assist with preparing environmental survey reports, data entry, impact assessment, and permitting activities for assigned projects (e.g. Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act permitting, CEQA, NEPA, etc.).
Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements, demographics, patterns and trends, statistical analysis, and reporting.
Perform professional environmental planning work and assist with conducting investigations, inspections, and environmental studies and surveys to gain further information on a particular environmental problem or issue, verify site characteristics, and/or to plan for future environmental needs.
Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, accurate reports, and illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of data, findings, or analyses.
Write technical reports summarizing research with findings and conclusions, generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems, field/work site notes, and software.
Assist in the analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of environmental data obtained during field investigations, offering input with developing action plans for low to mid-level threat mitigation and permitting activities projects to minimize impacts to the health of the environment and the population.
Assist with developing strategic planning and permitting execution strategies for clients on small- to medium-sized projects.
Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience.)
3 to 5 years of experience working in the environmental planning field, completing environmental surveys, fieldwork, habitat and construction support, impact assessments, and permitting.
Additionally, 3 to 5 years of direct CEQA (preparing documents) experience.
Effective analytical skills and prior experience with research techniques, local/regional ecology and habitats, and applicable species required.
Knowledge of relevant environmental laws, permitting requirements, notification and compliance practices, and applicable Regional/State/Federal regulatory framework.

Job Responsibilities:
Create, implement and execute project controls plans and project management plans to support contract requirements and the successful execution of project controls supporting project and WSP commercial interests.
Support the Project Controls team with all matters relating to the scheduling, cost control, document control, change management and scope/change control.

Certifications might include a combination of GDOT RTT, ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, ICC masonry, NPDES Level 1A or 1B
Valid Driver's License required
Reliability - must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times
Ability to prepare reports and documentation
Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
Ability to work in variable outside conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
