Job Description

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Street Zero Vision Program Manager ! This position can sit out of any mutually agreed WSP US Office .

The Street Zero Vision Program Manager will lead the development, implementation, and management of Vision Zero initiatives aimed at eliminating traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries on streets. This role involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and program evaluation to advance the city's commitment to road safety and ensure a holistic approach to traffic safety management.

Your Impact

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Management:

  • Develop and implement Vision Zero strategies, policies, and programs.

  • Create and oversee detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.

  • Coordinate with city departments, agencies, and external partners to align efforts and resources.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze traffic accident data to identify trends, risk factors, and high-priority areas.

  • Prepare regular reports on program progress, performance metrics, and outcomes.

  • Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve program effectiveness.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with community organizations, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders to promote Vision Zero goals.

  • Conduct public outreach and educational campaigns to raise awareness about traffic safety.

  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and forums to gather input and feedback from the community.

Policy and Advocacy:

  • Advocate for policy changes and infrastructure improvements that support Vision Zero objectives.

  • Stay informed about best practices, new technologies, and legislative developments related to traffic safety.

  • Work with elected officials and policymakers to advance Vision Zero initiatives.

Program Evaluation and Improvement:

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of Vision Zero programs and initiatives.

  • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations based on evaluation findings.

  • Ensure continuous improvement through regular assessments and updates to program strategies.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for Vision Zero projects and initiatives.

  • Allocate resources effectively and ensure cost-efficiency in program implementation.

  • Seek and apply for grants and funding opportunities to support Vision Zero activities.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.

  • 15+ years of relevant post education experience in Transportation Planning, Traffic Safety, or Program Management, with a focus on Vision Zero or related safety initiatives.

  • Equivalent Licensure in related field of industry.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and interpretation.

  • Excellent project management abilities, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of traffic safety principles, urban planning, and relevant regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, GIS software, and other relevant tools.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.

Expected Salary (all locations): $149,000.00 - $300,000

Your Impact

- Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.

- Learn basic principles of Geology.

- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.

- Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.

- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.

- Complete training on assigned tasks.

- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Project Controller to join our expanding, Earth and Environment (E&E) Project Management group based in San Jose, CA.

The Senior Project Controller will be involved in selected stages of a project's life cycle (i.e. Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, and/or Closure) for consulting services related to earth and environment projects including site characterization and remediation, environmental permitting and compliance, water/wastewater treatment, and mining. Most components of this role will relate to engineering and/or environmental consulting scopes. The role will be focused on technical practice areas in our earth and environment business such as site assessment and remediation, geotechnical engineering, geosciences, surface water, and groundwater in aspects of projects ranging from site characterization, permitting and planning, desktop analyses, feasibility studies, research and detailed design. This project controller role will work closely with project managers and technical managers and ensure the correct delivery of projects within budget and schedule.

Your Impact

  • Setting up and coordinating the project according to the approach outlined in the WSP's Project Delivery Manual and in line with established quality control procedures.

  • Coordinate with project manager, project team and client: monitoring and control of budgets, expenditures, schedules, progress deliverables, forecast, invoicing, change management, resourcing requirements, logistics coordination, document control, proposal preparation and project closeout activities.

  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers and helping with preparation of subcontractor work orders and invoicing payments

  • Assisting with developing and tracking Health and Safety requirements and associated plans.

  • The Project Controller will independently prepare initial budgeting and financial forecasting activities relying on their professional judgement, analytical techniques, and project-specific training/discussions. The Project Controller will require extensive use of scheduling software (i.e., MS Project or Primavera) and macros-enabled MS Excel workbooks to convert financial data into a format to be used for budget and financial forecasting.

  • The Project Controller will own preparation of and be responsible for production of high quality technical and professional deliverables for projects, including but not limited to:

  • invoicing (checking bill rates, contract compliance, correct reference to project and client PO, correct billing dates, etc.) using company specific business systems (supported by Oracle)

  • budget and financial forecasting using company specific business systems (supported by Oracle)

  • resolve issues that arise related to schedule, budget, invoicing, etc. keep PM appraised of situation and escalate as appropriate.

  • The Project Controller will assist PMs with large projects and/or large portfolio of projects, with the preparation, compilation, and professional delivery of project data.

  • The Project Controller will be responsible for identification of technical problems and analyze potential impact to project. Work directly with technical resources to resolve issues minimizing disruption to workflow, scope, schedule, and budget. Will escalate to PM as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, science, engineering or related degree, OR in lieu of a degree 4 years' of related experience

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2025 or later.

  • Must be 18 or older.

  • Demonstrated interest in Structural Engineering, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP's work and projects.

  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

  • Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.

  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering, or related, Masters or PhD program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2025 or later.

This Opportunity

WSP USA hosts hundreds of interns across the United States to gain hands-on, meaningful work experience to enhance their education and professional aptitude. Our interns gain exposure to real projects while working side by side with senior staff. Through our Developing Professionals Network, interns gain mentorship, networking opportunities and lifelong career connections.

Our Water Team is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to work out of our Tempe, AZ office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.

This internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program. As a summer intern, you have the opportunity to participate in our 12-week program scheduled to start on May 19th, 2025. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible.

Your Impact

  • Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.

  • Learn basic principles of Drainage Engineering.
