Southwest Disposal is looking for a safety conscience, Diesel Mechanic to join our GROWING team in Las Cruses, NM.

Pay: $25.00 per depending on experience

M-F: approximately 8:00am to 6:00pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

-Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 60 pounds.

- Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions..

-The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

-Valid drivers license (CDL preferred, but not required).

-Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.

-2 years of experience preferred.

We are looking for an Equipment Operator to join the team at Lea County Landfill in Eunice, NM . Previous landfill or waste experience would be a huge plus , but willing to train the right candidate.

PAY RANGE: $18-$20/hr.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Spreading and compacting trash using a Compactor

• Spreading daily cover using a Dozer

• Harvesting soil using a Scraper and/or Loader

• Maintaining haul roads using a Motor Grader

• Hauling soil with an ADT and/or Scraper

• Assist with other duties around the Landfill.

W ORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• The work environment is an outdoor Landfill setting. The employee will work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Areas are clean, ventilated, and well lit.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be Bilingual (English and Spanish)

• Follow safe operating practices.

• Operate several pieces of light equipment throughout the work day

• Learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service
