Engineer Equipment Mechanic

Program Summary

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

This position performs high level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven material handling and construction equipment such as 50 Ton mobile hydraulic cranes, container handlers, 4k -10k forklifts, tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers and other engine driven or towed construction equipment. Trouble shoot and repair to MVAC system. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Performs operator, intermediate and limited major rebuild levels of maintenance which includes spot painting. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Four years of directly related work experience. Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course, or equivalent. Complete MVAC course and hold a valid certificate. Ability to use technical manuals, specifications, and measuring instrumentation. Must have a valid State Drivers License and able to obtain and maintain a Tactical Operator License as necessary. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Ability to comply with all established methods, safety standards, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position. U.S. Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.

This position performs high level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven material handling and construction equipment such as 50 Ton mobile hydraulic cranes, container handlers, 4k -10k forklifts, tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers and other engine driven or towed construction equipment. Trouble shoot and repair to MVAC system. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Performs operator, intermediate and limited major rebuild levels of maintenance which includes spot painting. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Four years of directly related work experience. Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course, or equivalent. Complete MVAC course and hold a valid certificate. Ability to use technical manuals, specifications, and measuring instrumentation. The prepositioning of equipment and supplies to support MAGTFs from Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB), to Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) level employment, enables Marine forces to fulfill their role and responsibility as our Nation's force in readiness. Our prepositioning programs will continue to enable operations across the Joint Operational continuum - including shaping, deterrence, seizing the initiative, domination, stabilization, and enabling of civilian authorities. When combined with the forces and their equipment arriving in the fly-in echelon (FIE), prepositioning programs provide forward deployed equipment and supplies needed to sustain a MEB-sized MAGTF for 30 days of operations: thus reducing total strategic lift requirements.

Job Summary

POSITION TITLE: SB Material Specialist III (AFLOAT)

Performs functions relating to the technical research, requisitioning, stockage computation and replenishment, custodial record keeping, and issue, disposal, redistribution and tracking of equipment, supplies and publications. Troubleshoots and resolves problems associated with these tasks. Uses automated systems (hardware and software). Provide direction and training to other personnel. Verifies accuracy of administrative data. Complies with all established methods, quality standards and time schedules.

Basic Qualifications

Possess a High School Diploma. Four (4) years related experience. Completed Computer Operator Course or equivalent. Completed Basic Military Supply Course or equivalent. Completed Combat Service Support Chief Course or equivalent. Working Knowledge of information processing - PC Knowledge. Understanding of organization's logistics functions and activities in providing logistical support. Proficiency with personal computers and programs. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Utilize therapeutic assessment and interview skills to elicit accurate and concise account of the patient's condition.

• Perform basic assessment procedures, including initial screening evaluation and standardized neuropsychological, intelligence, and personality testing.

• Conduct Assessment and Selection in large group settings as well as on an individual basis.

Required Education/Experience:

• This position requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status.

• Must have a Secret Clearance/Top Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

• This position requires a bachelor's degree from a formal program in psychology, sociology, or in a behavioral science related field from an accredited college or university.

• Must be certified by the Board of Certified Psychometrists (BCP); this may be waived if the candidate has one (1) full year of full-time experience under the supervision of an operational psychologist.

• This position requires a minimum of one (1) year of full-time work experience during the preceding three (3) years in the performance of psychological and/or neuropsychological testing and test scoring.

Required Skills/Training:

• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.

• Must have current certification on Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as certified by the American Heart Association; front and back documentation of such training is required upon hire for credentialing.
