POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.
Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures which could include taking patients' blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, as well as performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation and EKG's. Acts as chaperon as needed. Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.
Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests. Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas. Medication ordering and tasks related to all medications (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).
Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.
This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. This position interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Also interacts with physician's offices in order to report, ask for or clarify information. Prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use. BLS certification required. Active Medical Assistant certification such as: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with proof of current membership from National Health Career Association (NHA) (Test administered after 7/1/2017 only) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) with proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT).
Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software. Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion.
Employees working at BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility.
Employees working at Banner Scottsdale Sports Medicine, second floor must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with office medical procedures and treatments and knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR and scheduling software preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

As a BMS Technician, you are a self-starter who works well under pressure and adapts well to a rapidly changing environment, with EXCELLENT customer services skills. You will have a wide range of duties including addressing customer work orders and prioritizing patient care & equipment failure. POSITION SUMMARY
This position repairs, adjusts, calibrates, and optimizes the building control systems. This position works out of the Facilities Services Remote Operations Center (ROC) to support facility-based plant personnel to maintain optimum performance of plant equipment. This work may include field service and/or remote servicing of the Building Management Systems (BMS) across the organization.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Trade level position that installs, adjusts, repairs, and troubleshoots controls of large heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, utility plant systems, lighting systems, and general building control systems. Controls, calibrates, and troubleshoots pressures, flows, temperatures, and speed of chillers, pumps, air handlers, terminal units, heat exchangers, etc.
Operates, maintains, repairs, and updates the building automation computers. Creates and adjusts computer programs, graphics, and parameters in alignment with the ROC energy strategy and recommendations from data analysts and ROC leadership.
Isolates and corrects building control system failures to restore normal operations. Maintains copies and backups of control sequences and computer images.
Measures, calculates, and adjust supply air flow, exhaust air flows, and water flows for optimum operation to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations and improve energy efficiency.
Provides support to facility-based plant personnel to trouble-shoot control problems. Instructs plant personnel on operations strategies to enhance energy savings.
Works with energy analysts to develop control strategies in effort of repairing, adjusting, and optimizing the operation of controlled equipment.
Position generally carries departmental or hospital responsibility within assigned discipline area. External customers may include, but are not limited to, regulatory/accrediting agencies, external data providers, utility companies, etc. Internal customers include facilities services staff, managers, executives, and medical staff.
Position may require variable shifts and hours, weekly on-call (nights/week ends) rotation.
Provides support and expertise to Banner Development and Construction teams with focus on standards, project feedback, and coordination/completion of project scope.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, skills and abilities as normally obtained through the completion of an Associate's Degree and 2 years' experience of programming within the building automation industry or equivalent combination of education, technical, business and healthcare experience in a related field.
Must have advanced skills in troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and servicing industrial building automation systems. Requires intermediate to advanced skills using word processing, spreadsheet, database and other standard business applications.
Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a company phone may be required.
Ability to read low voltage electrical wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams, must be proficient with test instruments and calibration tools, have the ability to understand control wiring diagrams, and understand the operation of HVAC equipment. This includes the ability to understand written sequences of operation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
LonWorks and/or BACnet protocol fundamentals and Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 experience or Possess a Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification preferred. Additional education and/or experience with electrical/mechanical systems is strongly preferred.

This position would allow the ortho tech the opportunity to collaborate with the ortho techs and Athletic Trainers at each site. Our facilities are targeted towards treating every athlete as a VIP regardless of the level and each team member serves as a part of that patient journey through the clinic.
Must be available to work Monday-Friday from 8am-5:00pm, ideally 5 days/week. We will accept individuals that can be available part time: preferably whole days, but can work with half day shifts as well. Half day would be 8-12 or 1-5. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting providers in the delivery of orthopedic care, including applying casts to patients. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care. Duties are performed as delegated by a physician under the physician's direction and supervision.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Applies, adjusts and removes casts, splints, and immobilization devices. Changes dressings and cares for wounds. Measures and fits patients for braces and other orthopedic devices.
Communicates instructions to patients regarding pre- and post-operative care, proper care of casts, splints, immobilization devices and crutch training.
Documents information into the patient records system accurately and completely. Obtains all necessary signatures and documentation. Provides administrative support in orthopedic department when needed.
Orders, tracks and maintains product inventory. Replenishes and disperses supplies within the exam rooms to ensure all rooms are appropriately stocked and readily accessible.
Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
This position functions under supervision and is responsible for all aspects of the patient experience. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients/clients, families and external contacts, such as vendors and employees of other health care institutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) Certification from the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals (ASOP) is required. On a case-by-case basis, candidates who are not currently certified by ASOP may be considered for this role. Uncertified candidates are required to obtain an ROT Certification within six months from their date of hire. Uncertified candidates must have either (i) completed a casting class acceptable to Banner Health or (ii) at least one year of casting experience working under the supervision of an orthopedic surgeon at time of hire.
Current BLS Certifications is required.
Requires knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and general billing/coding processes as typically obtained through one year experience in a hospital or physician practice environment. Proof of completion of skills and competencies is required annually.
Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software. Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion.

Banner Boswell Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our Cardiovascular ICU unit. The unit has 14 beds and cares for post-surgical heart and vascular patients. We manage cardiac devices like Impella, Balloon pump, chest tubes, external/internal pacemakers, and SLED. This unit has received a 3-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgery for the 4th time which is the highest achievable rating for a cardiovascular surgery center of excellence.
This is a full time night shift from 7pm-7:30am.

Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and according to state scope of practice; procedures may include blood draws, foley catheters removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring. Provides necessary supplies, support and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.
Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.
Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient's record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.
Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.
Based on area of assignment may assist with transporting patients, including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients to critical care unit. Participates in OR room turnover.

This position works as a member of the food service team on one or more assignments in cleaning, food preparation, patient trayline or retail caf. Provides service and assistance to patients, staff and other customers in accordance with established dietary and retail cafe policies and procedures.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Sets up work station and prepares all assigned foods and nourishments in the correct quantities, following established procedures, portion control and food quality standards. Assures that food presentation continually meets standards.
Cleans and sanitizes dishes, flatware, trays, cups, glasses and cooking utensils. Also cleans and sanitizes designated equipment and kitchen areas disposing of all waste materials. Monitors dish machine temperature.
Maintains par levels of foods and/or supplies in assigned areas, orders and/or restocks items in accordance with established routines, rotates food stocks, checks expiration dates.
Checks and records food and equipment temperatures according to defined procedures, and reports any discrepancies to the supervisor.
May deliver meals, nourishments, late trays and/or tube feedings to units; return excess nourishments as requested. May also assist in catering or special event service.
May handle transactions at cash register (if applicable) and/or cafe.
This position interacts with other food service department personnel, hospital staff, patients and families. Requires the ability to follow a work routine with regular supervision, to work quickly and correctly while providing good customer service and maintaining sanitation standards. The work requires the ability to follow instructions and guidelines for the use of cleaning chemicals and be able to work in physical contact with them.

Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. POSITION SUMMARY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited school of Radiology program.
Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 1 year of experience. Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, analyze data and solve problems.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position handles member and provider grievances, standard appeals and claim disputes. This position will act as a key advocate and contact for HP members with general health care and accessibility concerns and inquiries on the various levels of the grievance and appeals process.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Determines which claim disputes meet acceptable claim dispute criteria, specifically screening for Untimely claims and Resubmissions; maintains a log, categorizes and tracks all received documents, notices, returned receipts; decides and responds to those appeals and claim disputes not meeting criteria with appropriate correspondence and routing. Assists in resolving member questions and concerns regarding the health care system in an effort to prevent the need for members to file formal grievances or appeals.
Enters all accepted appeals and claim disputes and its corresponding information into the CRM; creates and maintains case files, including appropriate review sheets for Medical Review and/or Claim Review according to policy, AHCCCS, HCG, and CMS regulations; updates CRM for ongoing cases with responses from reviewers. Assesses individual cases and documents in various CRM programs for pertinent information for referral and/or transmission to co-workers.
Ensures all appeals and claim disputes are acknowledged, by official correspondence, within AHCCCS, HCG, and CMS contractual timelines; protects the confidentiality of member information and other information. Facilitates, communicates and accepts input regarding member and provider appeal information from appropriate individuals that would include employees, providers, Medical Director, Plan Administrator, RNs, Risk Management, attorneys, AHCCCS, HCG, CMS and others.
Responds to all incoming phone calls, researches and resolves member and provider questions and concern regarding grievances, appeals and claim disputes. Opens, reviews, researches (if necessary), date stamps and routes or responds to all incoming mail. Responds in an expedient manner that is consistent with the mission and values of UAHN and in support of related regulations and policies and procedures to member, staff and physician grievances, appeals and claim disputes with minimal supervision.
Creates and submits all resolution and extension correspondence, utilizing appropriate Arizona Revised Statues, Arizona Administrative Code, Code of Federal Regulations, and other supporting regulatory policies and statutes for all UAHP managed plans. Self-audits daily to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Recognizes, facilitates and gathers relevant medical records, coding and claim documentation that is required for the reviewers to fully investigate grievances, appeals, and claim disputes. Responsible for trouble shooting, identifying, and resolving special handling requirements related to grievance and appeal issues.
Reports at Grievance/Appeals meetings, as appropriate, all incoming, attended and scheduled State Fair Hearings.
Works internally with other departments in order to facilitate timely responses and inquiries, and assists with workgroups as requested. Provides technical expertise to other departments regarding grievances, appeals and claim disputes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Two years of work experience in health care related field or experience managing projects/initiatives, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of AHCCCS, HCG and/or CMS regulations. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge of Medical terminology claims processing guidelines, and CRM & IDX. Knowledge of grievance, appeal and claim dispute processes.

The Observation Unit is a 9 bed unit offering care to a wide variety of patients. Our patient population consists of individuals with an array of medical comorbidities including diabetes, heart failure, minor orthopedic injuries, minimal invasive surgeries, urology and falls. Patients on this unit typically have shorter stays ranging (<24 hours). Though small, Observation is a fast-paced environment. All beds have telemetry monitoring ability and are positioned around the nurse's station allowing for close monitoring and strong teamwork. RNs on the Observation unit will participate in the PCU Academy which will provide skills to care for our hospital's adult health population. The Obs unit prides itself on teamwork and RNs in this space will learn new skills each day and be a part of a close-knit interdisciplinary team. BUMCS is currently working toward Magnet, Level 3 Trauma and Primary Stroke designation.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. This position is accountable for documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care they deliver to patients. Oversees the activities of pharmacy technicians and interns, coordinating workflow and approving medications prior to being dispensed. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients being served. Must assess data reflective of the patient's status, interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements and provide pharmaceutical care based on those needs. Adheres to local, state, and federal laws regarding the profession of pharmacy practice.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Processes medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness with respect to patient data including age, height, weight, diagnosis, laboratory values, and other pertinent patient information.
Utilizes clinical pharmacy skills to assess patient medication regimens and formulates recommendations to ensure optimal safety, efficacy, and cost-effectiveness for all prescribed medication therapies. Contacts the prescriber with suggestions for improvement and resolves problems with medication orders as needed. Serves as a resource for patients and the health care team. Provides requested medication information in a timely manner.
Complies with directives of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee/Clinical Consensus Group. Documents activities related to patient care in the electronic medical record and other electronic databases as applicable (e.g. pharmacist to pharmacist/provider communication, adverse drug event reporting, and clinical interventions).
Drives their professional development through the utilization of BPS educational resources to achieve competence in the current and future BH acute pharmacy core clinical practices and activities. Additionally, assist with training and onboarding of new staff as applicable.
Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile or non-sterile compounded medications, in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures and established regulatory requirements. Coordinates medication preparation and distribution and ensures accuracy prior to dispensing medications.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, which may include management of technology, inventory management, and accurate record keeping. Supervises and directs the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, and students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.
If not licensed in the state of practice, must have completed the Board of Pharmacy application process within 30 days of job offer. Must be licensed within 90 days of hire unless the delay is due to the State Board of Pharmacy.
Banner Registry and Travel positions require a current and unrestricted Pharmacist license (not intern) at the time of hire and a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a pharmacist in the specialty area.
Must possess good organizational, problem solving, and computer skills. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and other contacts. Must be able to use reference tools to evaluate patient care and answer questions posed by customers.
Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and Automated dispensing system.
May be required to possess a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company's auto insurance policy.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for facilitating patient safety by assuring safe functioning of Operating Room equipment and by maintaining and overseeing the perioperative equipment management program for the Operating room. Oversees the safe keeping of all surgical equipment. Initiates the coordination of equipment evaluations and staff education as it pertains to new and existing equipment.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Performs timely troubleshooting and minor repairs or facilitates major repair with designated vendors of all equipment within the department, as well as coordinating timely maintenance of the physical facility with Plant Services.
Serves as first line resource to physicians and staff for equipment troubleshooting in all department specialties, general, ortho, ENT, neuro, peds, robotics, etc.
Functions as part of the OR patient care team in running the cell saver, laser, image guided equipment, video and microscope (balancing, exchanging lenses). Possesses an in-depth knowledge of specialized equipment through certifications.
Maintains appropriate documentation and databases for equipment repairs. Communicates to management, including physicians and staff members, as to the status of the equipment within department on a weekly basis.
Performs safety checks on all equipment prior to patient use. Assures proper electrical load distribution when multiple pieces of equipment are utilized for a surgical procedure in order to ensure safe patient care.
Proactively determines continuing education needs related to new equipment or procedures for all department staff and assists the nursing educator in meeting these educational needs.
Oversees the safe keeping of all surgical equipment to ensure physical security against loss.
Facilitates efficient OR room turnover by anticipating equipment needs. Communicates to management, including physicians and staff members, as to the status of the equipment within department on a weekly basis.
Position has facility responsibility only. Internal customers are other staff, physicians, patients, visitors, vendors, other facilities and external medical facilities. Requires equipment specific certification for proper operation of various pieces of equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Experience typically/normally acquired with 1 year of perioperative or procedural services, biomedical, or comparable experience, which includes knowledge of related equipment and supplies.
Effective organizational, communication and human relations skills are necessary as the incumbent will be coordinating several projects simultaneously and working closely with department managers and all levels of staff and subordinates. Requires strong communications skills; time management, human relations and organizational skills.
