POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.

2. Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures which could include taking patients' blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, as well as performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation and EKG's. Acts as chaperon as needed. Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.

3. Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests. Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.

4. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.

5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.

6. Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas. Medication ordering and tasks related to all medications (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).

7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.

8. This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.

9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. This position interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Also interacts with physician's offices in order to report, ask for or clarify information. Prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the response of the patient and family to changes in health status.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.

Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use. BLS certification required. Active Medical Assistant certification such as: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with proof of current membership from National Health Career Association (NHA) (Test administered after 7/1/2017 only) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) with proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT).

Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software. Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion.

Employees working at BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. POSITION SUMMARY

This position repairs, adjusts, calibrates, and optimizes the building control systems. This position works out of the Facilities Services Remote Operations Center (ROC) to support facility-based plant personnel to maintain optimum performance of plant equipment. This work may include field service and/or remote servicing of the Building Management Systems (BMS) across the organization.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Trade level position that installs, adjusts, repairs, and troubleshoots controls of large heating ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, utility plant systems, lighting systems, and general building control systems. Controls, calibrates, and troubleshoots pressures, flows, temperatures, and speed of chillers, pumps, air handlers, terminal units, heat exchangers, etc.

2. Operates, maintains, repairs, and updates the building automation computers. Creates and adjusts computer programs, graphics, and parameters in alignment with the ROC energy strategy and recommendations from data analysts and ROC leadership.

3. Isolates and corrects building control system failures to restore normal operations. Maintains copies and backups of control sequences and computer images.

4. Measures, calculates, and adjust supply air flow, exhaust air flows, and water flows for optimum operation to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations and improve energy efficiency.

5. Provides support to facility-based plant personnel to trouble-shoot control problems. Instructs plant personnel on operations strategies to enhance energy savings.

6. Works with energy analysts to develop control strategies in effort of repairing, adjusting, and optimizing the operation of controlled equipment.

7. Position generally carries departmental or hospital responsibility within assigned discipline area. External customers may include, but are not limited to, regulatory/accrediting agencies, external data providers, utility companies, etc. Internal customers include facilities services staff, managers, executives, and medical staff.

8. Position may require variable shifts and hours, weekly on-call (nights/week ends) rotation.

9. Provides support and expertise to Banner Development and Construction teams with focus on standards, project feedback, and coordination/completion of project scope.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, skills and abilities as normally obtained through the completion of an Associate's Degree and 2 years' experience of programming within the building automation industry or equivalent combination of education, technical, business and healthcare experience in a related field.

Must have advanced skills in troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and servicing industrial building automation systems. Requires intermediate to advanced skills using word processing, spreadsheet, database and other standard business applications.

Requires communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a company phone may be required.

Ability to read low voltage electrical wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams, must be proficient with test instruments and calibration tools, have the ability to understand control wiring diagrams, and understand the operation of HVAC equipment. This includes the ability to understand written sequences of operation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

LonWorks and/or BACnet protocol fundamentals and Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 experience or Possess a Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification preferred. Additional education and/or experience with electrical/mechanical systems is strongly preferred.

As a BSS Ortho Tech on this team, you would be expected to help fill in for our current ortho techs for PTO, sick time, added coverage within a busy clinic, plus added support to the current team. We are Affiliated with the Mercury, Suns, DBacks teams. Banner Sports Medicine works together with a team approach. This position would allow the ortho tech the opportunity to collaborate with the ortho techs and Athletic Trainers at each site. Our facilities are targeted towards treating every athlete as a VIP regardless of the level and each team member serves as a part of that patient journey through the clinic.

Must be available to work Monday-Friday from 8am-5:00pm, ideally 5 days/week. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting providers in the delivery of orthopedic care, including applying casts to patients. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care. Duties are performed as delegated by a physician under the physician's direction and supervision.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Applies, adjusts and removes casts, splints, and immobilization devices. Changes dressings and cares for wounds. Measures and fits patients for braces and other orthopedic devices.

2. Communicates instructions to patients regarding pre- and post-operative care, proper care of casts, splints, immobilization devices and crutch training.

3. Documents information into the patient records system accurately and completely. Obtains all necessary signatures and documentation. Provides administrative support in orthopedic department when needed.

4. Orders, tracks and maintains product inventory. Replenishes and disperses supplies within the exam rooms to ensure all rooms are appropriately stocked and readily accessible.

5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Current Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) Certification from the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals (ASOP) is required. Uncertified candidates are required to obtain an ROT Certification within six months from their date of hire. Uncertified candidates must have either (i) completed a casting class acceptable to Banner Health or (ii) at least one year of casting experience working under the supervision of an orthopedic surgeon at time of hire.

Current BLS Certifications is required.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs prescribed specialized radiographic procedures as directed by following department/facility policies, procedures and protocols. This position ensures optimal care/treatment to patient population.

Banner Boswell Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our Cardiovascular ICU unit. The unit has 14 beds and cares for post-surgical heart and vascular patients. We manage cardiac devices like Impella, Balloon pump, chest tubes, external/internal pacemakers, and SLED. This unit has received a 3-star rating from the Society of Thoracic Surgery for the 4th time which is the highest achievable rating for a cardiovascular surgery center of excellence.

This is a full time night shift from 7pm-7:30am.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. 3. Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in the patient's health status and responses to treatment to a licensed professional. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for which care is provided.

4. Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and according to state scope of practice; procedures may include blood draws, foley catheters removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring. Provides necessary supplies, support and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.

5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.

6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient's record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.

7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.

8. Based on area of assignment may assist with transporting patients, including pre-operative and immediate post-operative patients to critical care unit. Participates in OR room turnover.

Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.

4. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.

5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.

6. Monitors inventory including medication, immunizations (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).

7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts. Follow any project within scope established by PM or supervising MA.

8. This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.

9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs all cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas. Works as a member of the environmental service team to ensure the safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors and staff by helping to provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference to others.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Performs a variety of assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures. Must plan the completion of these tasks daily.

2. Empties hampers and transports of soiled linen. Empties trash containers and removes all trash. Empties all medical waste containers, including sharps.

This position handles member and provider grievances, standard appeals and claim disputes. This position will act as a key advocate and contact for HP members with general health care and accessibility concerns and inquiries on the various levels of the grievance and appeals process.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Determines which claim disputes meet acceptable claim dispute criteria, specifically screening for Untimely claims and Resubmissions; maintains a log, categorizes and tracks all received documents, notices, returned receipts; decides and responds to those appeals and claim disputes not meeting criteria with appropriate correspondence and routing. Assists in resolving member questions and concerns regarding the health care system in an effort to prevent the need for members to file formal grievances or appeals.

2. Enters all accepted appeals and claim disputes and its corresponding information into the CRM; creates and maintains case files, including appropriate review sheets for Medical Review and/or Claim Review according to policy, AHCCCS, HCG, and CMS regulations; updates CRM for ongoing cases with responses from reviewers. Assesses individual cases and documents in various CRM programs for pertinent information for referral and/or transmission to co-workers.

3. Ensures all appeals and claim disputes are acknowledged, by official correspondence, within AHCCCS, HCG, and CMS contractual timelines; protects the confidentiality of member information and other information. Facilitates, communicates and accepts input regarding member and provider appeal information from appropriate individuals that would include employees, providers, Medical Director, Plan Administrator, RNs, Risk Management, attorneys, AHCCCS, HCG, CMS and others.

4. Responds to all incoming phone calls, researches and resolves member and provider questions and concern regarding grievances, appeals and claim disputes. Opens, reviews, researches (if necessary), date stamps and routes or responds to all incoming mail. Responds in an expedient manner that is consistent with the mission and values of UAHN and in support of related regulations and policies and procedures to member, staff and physician grievances, appeals and claim disputes with minimal supervision.

5. Creates and submits all resolution and extension correspondence, utilizing appropriate Arizona Revised Statues, Arizona Administrative Code, Code of Federal Regulations, and other supporting regulatory policies and statutes for all UAHP managed plans. Self-audits daily to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

6. Recognizes, facilitates and gathers relevant medical records, coding and claim documentation that is required for the reviewers to fully investigate grievances, appeals, and claim disputes. Responsible for trouble shooting, identifying, and resolving special handling requirements related to grievance and appeal issues.

7. Reports at Grievance/Appeals meetings, as appropriate, all incoming, attended and scheduled State Fair Hearings.

8. Works internally with other departments in order to facilitate timely responses and inquiries, and assists with workgroups as requested. Provides technical expertise to other departments regarding grievances, appeals and claim disputes.

9. This position works under supervision, prioritizing data from multiple sources to provide quality care and support. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Interacts with staff at all levels throughout the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Two years of work experience in health care related field or experience managing projects/initiatives, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides leadership and training for environmental services associates, while working as a member of the EVS Associate team.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Ensures that staffing plans are carried out properly, and that all areas of the hospital/facility are staffed appropriately. POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients using the medication use process. This position is accountable for documentation of all components of pharmaceutical care they deliver to patients. Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile or non-sterile compounded medications, in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with company policies and procedures and established regulatory requirements. Coordinates medication preparation and distribution and ensures accuracy prior to dispensing medications.

6. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, which may include management of technology, inventory management, and accurate record keeping. Supervises and directs the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, and students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires unrestricted Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice and a degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.

If not licensed in the state of practice, must have completed the Board of Pharmacy application process within 30 days of job offer. Must be licensed within 90 days of hire unless the delay is due to the State Board of Pharmacy.

This position is responsible for facilitating patient safety by assuring safe functioning of Operating Room equipment and by maintaining and overseeing the perioperative equipment management program for the Operating room. 5. Performs safety checks on all equipment prior to patient use. Assures proper electrical load distribution when multiple pieces of equipment are utilized for a surgical procedure in order to ensure safe patient care.

6. Proactively determines continuing education needs related to new equipment or procedures for all department staff and assists the nursing educator in meeting these educational needs.

7. Oversees the safe keeping of all surgical equipment to ensure physical security against loss.

8. Facilitates efficient OR room turnover by anticipating equipment needs. Communicates to management, including physicians and staff members, as to the status of the equipment within department on a weekly basis.

9. Position has facility responsibility only. Internal customers are other staff, physicians, patients, visitors, vendors, other facilities and external medical facilities. Requires equipment specific certification for proper operation of various pieces of equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Experience typically/normally acquired with 1 year of perioperative or procedural services, biomedical, or comparable experience, which includes knowledge of related equipment and supplies.

Effective organizational, communication and human relations skills are necessary as the incumbent will be coordinating several projects simultaneously and working closely with department managers and all levels of staff and subordinates. Requires strong communications skills; time management, human relations and organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
