General Function

Transfer product. This includes operating a forklift/walkie and performing all other functions of a Warehouse Associate.

Essential duties and responsibilities (cross-training and other duties may be assigned):

  • Conduct daily inspection of vehicle (Report maintenance and deficiencies immediately)

  • Secure and safely transport material

  • Secure and prep the truck at the end of shift for the next shift

  • Organize and stage product on the dock after unloading

  • Breakdown pallets, identify product, UOM and accurately count product

  • Use forklifts and walkie-rider to move and organize equipment

  • Identify storage locations for product, accurately complete put away transaction

    Safety

  • Follow all safety procedures and rules established in the facility. Wear proper PPE.

  • Keep all work areas clean and free of hazards. Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or damaged products.

  • Actively participate in all safety and other training programs.

    Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a focus on quality and accuracy and a desire to learn.

  • Minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience. Forklift certification is a plus, but not necessary.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and carry auto insurance

  • Must have clean driving record for past 3-5 years

  • Operate with minimum oversight after given instructions

  • Maintain ongoing communication with inbound management

  • Good Communication Skills both written and verbal

  • Some computer skills may be required

    Working Environment

    The physical demands required to perform the essential responsibilities of this position are as follows. Reasonable accommodations, if necessary and/or as required by law, will be made available.

  • This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk and use hands to handle or touch; frequently talk, hear and lift up to 50 pounds; and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders, and use foot to operate a machine to lift more than 100 pounds

  • The position also requires the employee to regularly use electronic scanning devices.

  • The position requires use of manual and mechanical equipment as needed. Training/certification will be provided as needed.

  • While performing the responsibilities of this position, the employee will occasionally be exposed to sheltered weather conditions and unheated/non-air-conditioned spaces, fumes or airborne particles, and the limited risk of electrical shock.

  • The level of noise in the working environment is moderate to loud.

  • Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes ear protection, eye protection, gloves, and steel-toed shoes

    Qualifications:

  • H.S. diploma/equivalent plus 3-6+ months customer service experience preferred

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude.

  • Able to quickly pick up on new processes and technologies without a lot of guidance Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to effectively manage and track multiple commitments; effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; strong customer service focus; ability to inform, teach, and train

  • Working conditions are typical for a retail environment

General function

Perform a variety of tasks to meet quality and productivity metrics and ensure that product is properly handled and shipped to customer in a timely manner. At all times, follow proper safety procedures.

Warehouse Associate duties and responsibilities(cross-training and other duties may be assigned):

Order Fulfillment

  • Use electronic scanning device to pick orders and maintain inventory records. Note errors and/or problems

  • Understand product weights and types to maintain quality and avoid damage and spoilage of products

  • Pack and crate items in preparation for shipping and distribution

  • Assist with inventory cycle counts

    Shipping

  • Properly stage and assemble completed orders for expedited loading and shipping

  • Scan and verify accuracy of packages being loaded with order documents to ensure proper piece counts, addresses. Complete shipping reports

  • Follow procedures to wrap orders for shipping stability

Store Manager Qualifications

  • Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent; Advanced degree in business or retail management preferred

  • Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably within a durable goods setting. Experience must include commercial (outside) sales

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Able to effectively manage confrontational situations in a controlled and courteous manner

  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines

General Function

Lead and manage retail and commercial store sales activities at our Pinellas Park location in order to achieve sales and profit goals. Sales Management

  • Ensure execution of all retail and commercial in-store selling programs and promotions.

  • Ensure all team members are achieving individual prospecting and lead generation goals.

  • Analyze buying activity of existing accounts work to increase sales.

  • Provide service and support to commercial customers. Ensure customer deliveries are accurate and on time. Maintain third party delivery vendor relationship (if applicable).

  • Help to coordinate and participate in commercial events e.g. commercial breakfasts.

  • Develop and drive Device Repair business with in your store to meet sales targets, quality and turn-around times.

    Personnel Management

  • Demonstrate and require a customer first mentality.

  • Schedule staffing based on the needs of the business within budgeted limits.

  • Develop and supervise Store Associates. Provide training for all retail and commercial sales, operational and safety policies and processes.

  • Delegate tasks, validate completion and ensure policies and procedures are being followed.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, development and recognition. Develop team for future roles, ensure team understands the deliverables and is supportive of innovation and change.

  • Perform timely evaluations and implement progressive discipline.

  • Recruit, interview, select and hire with assistance of Retail Sales Manager.

    Operations Management

  • Oversee activities of team to ensure standards are met for merchandising, presentation, inventory management, loss prevention, safety, corporate reporting and facility management.

  • Understand and manage controllables; address deficiencies. Identify and implement actions to control costs.

  • Delegate tasks, validate completion and ensure policies and procedures are being followed.

  • Function as a leader by acting in an influential and persuasive manner. At the same time, be a team player and individual contributor to attain company goals.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent; Degree in business or retail management preferred.

  • Ability to calculate simple math, percentages and ratios. A basic understanding of accounting procedures and financial statements necessary.

  • Strong technical aptitude; a basic understanding of electronics including the ability to accurately read gauges and work with hands.

  • Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Must be able to become forklift certified, if applicable.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business including peak seasons and special events. This includes the ability to work at multiple store locations, as needed.

  • Cell phone with voice plan for work related purposes on an incidental, but necessary basis (25% or less)

Customer Service / Sales- While working: Live a "Customer First" mentality- Perform Customer Service / Sales duties.- Greet customers promptly, determine needs and answer questions.- Suggest needed sales add-on items, participate in retail store and commercial sales activities to achieve sales goals.- Ask questions to identify potential commercial customers.- Operate computer/cash register to initiate and complete sales transactions.- Answer phones, assist callers, and ensure messages are relayed in a timely, accurate manner.- Maintain the facility, inventory, property, and customer service levels to management standards.- Develop and maintain current knowledge of product and service offerings- Adhere to general and specific safety standards- Engage as a "can-do" team member. Merchandising / Inventory- Rotate and stock inventory; perform inventory counts as required.- Install batteries, perform tests and tech work.- Load, unload, and deliver or arrange delivery of products.- Organize daily recovery of displays to achieve full store appearance.- Maintain retail shelf label pricing.- Build displays; setting up & taking down shelves and fixtures.- Prepare store for daily opening and closing.

Qualifications

- H.S. diploma/equivalent and 6 months prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Prior retail experience preferred but not required.- Ability to gain quick and solid understanding of company's products, processes, point of sale, and cross reference systems.- Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer focus.- Must possess and use organizational and analytical problem solving skills.- Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks to effectively prioritize, follow up, and meet deadlines with multiple tasks and projects.- Ability to calculate simple math, percents, ratios and algebraic expressions and read gauges.- Demonstrated technical aptitude and or technical experience desired.- Valid driver's license with clean driving record preferred.At Batteries Plus Bulbs, you are part of a small entrepreneurial team in a growing business.
