Assistant Store Manager

Batteries Plus, the nation's largest, fastest-growing battery and light bulb franchise, is looking for a customer-focused Assistant Manager in to assist the Store Manager and Store Associates in achieving sales objectives and maintaining efficient store operations.

Duties Include:

  • Work with Manager to develop and implement the Store's business plan, and all company programs and initiatives, as well as evaluate performance compared to plan and benchmarks. Implement operational activities to control costs while driving the business.

  • Lead and direct all store operations activities including purchasing, receiving, inventory management, customer order management, sales floor recovery, out-of-stock review and store organization and cleanliness.

  • Support all commercial and retail sales strategies and initiatives.

  • Assist with selection and training of Store Associates, and perform supervisory duties of Store Manager in his/her absence.

    Assistant Store Manager Qualifications:

  • Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent and at least one year retail experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to lift 50 + lbs

  • Ability to communicate concrete and abstract ideas and understand and communicate directions using both oral and written means

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal direction as a resourceful, independent problem solver.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required

    Store Application Support

  • Perform Tier 1 support activities to include: handling phone calls/emails, documenting problem and troubleshooting activities in call tickets

    Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum 2 years experience troubleshooting application software (accounting, distribution, retail) in a customer service environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated technical aptitude with the ability to learn the Batteries Plus technical tool set with minimum direction

  • Understanding of basic computer hardware (i.e. PC, printers, networks)

    As the Warehouse Lead, you will provide shift oversight and delegate tasks to warehouse associates in regards to receiving, storing, packing and shipping of merchandise and material to ensure that product is handled and shipped to our customers in a timely manner. YOUR LIFE AS A RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE / DEVICE REPAIR TECHNICIAN

You arrive for each shift excited to meet new people and sell products, services, and solutions. Any clerk can sell a pack of AA batteries, but you are a trusted advisor that can recommend the right battery for the application whether it's a cell phone, truck, or recreational vehicle. You also answer inbound phone calls and happily answer customer questions. You love chatting with people and are able to make personal connections easily to ensure that every customer feels welcome and valued.

You get to use your mechanical skills to repair our customers' cell phones, tablets, and other devices. Batteries Plus Bulbs has an opening for full or part time delivery drivers. The ideal person would be flexible with hours but also would have most weekends off. A good driving record is a must as well as interpersonal skills to speak with customers. They also must be able to lift 60 + LBS.

A Day in the Life of a Batteries Plus Bulbs Sales Associate

Don't expect the same old routine in this position. You will eagerly interact with a variety of people - from cell phone users looking for help to big businesses in need of a supplier for their battery, lighting and mobile power needs. As a representative of the store, you'll enthusiastically welcome customers (in person and on phone), offer assistance, maintain an organized and professional appearance (self and store), and adhere to all battery/bulb safety rules and regulations. And, get ready to move! This position requires movement throughout the store meeting the customer anywhere on the sales floor where you can effectively offer them assistance you won't be sitting around!

Job Qualifications

  • Stable work history (prior retail work experience preferred)

  • Patience, the ability to follow sequential steps in a repair manual, good hand/eye coordination and the ability to work with your hands-on disassembly and assembly of small electronic devices

  • Ability to learn and incorporate new technology

  • Ability to make sound decisions within company policies and guidelines

Consultatively sell batteries, light bulbs and accessory items to retail and commercial customers.
