Equipment Operators are responsible for setting-up, operating, and maintaining operating equipment at the Distribution Center for Batteries Plus. The Equipment Operators ensures that the equipment runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained.

Openings on the following shifts:

  • 2nd Shift - Sunday-Thursday 2pm - 10pm - additional $.75/hour shift premium

  • 3rd Shift - Sunday-Thursday 10pm-6am - additional $1.25/hour shift premium

    Responsibilities:

    Essential

  • Drives sit-down and stand-up forklifts, and other industrial vehicles such as cherry-pickers and automated pallet jacks as needed.

  • Moves hazardous materials and m aintains a clean work area.

  • Pallet building and pallet picks.

  • Stack crates, pallets or other material.

  • Ensures the safe and efficient movement of goods.

  • Follows safety regulations and company guidelines.

  • Checks that loads are centered and properly stacked.

  • Determines when repairs need to be made on equipment.

  • Rotates stock so that oldest items are shipped or sold first.

  • Quality assurance (QA) duties, including reporting product damage and shortages.

  • Utilizes radio frequency (RF) scanning equipment to track inventory.

  • Shrink wraps goods or otherwise secures them and prepares them for transport.

  • Weighs and records weights of products.

    Operational Functions

  • Perform all duties of Warehouse Associate with the ability to flex in/out of Operations (Outbound) as business requires

  • Driver continual improvement in both specific tasks and the overall warehouse operations.

  • Ensure all work areas are orderly, clean and free of safety hazards

  • Reinforce policies and safety rules as necessary

    Qualifications:

  • 6 months of machinery/equipment experience. Thorough knowledge and understanding of moving products, loaded pallets and equipment safely and securely.

  • An employment record of punctuality and excellent attendance

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, training audits and procedure manuals

  • Proficiency in basic math

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Can drive understanding (i.e. using visual aids, able to recognize when a group or individual is lost and needs more attention)

  • Demonstrates self-directed and self-motivated, with good collaborative skills and a desire to help others improve and progress

  • Develop overarching local media strategy in planning and execution

  • Conduct extensive audience, placement, and platform research to inform our strategy on existing and new channels

    Qualifications:

  • BS/BA with emphasis in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field

  • 5+ year's consumer marketing experience at a media agency or with an in-house media team

  • Hands-on experience in Google and Facebook in order to partner with the agencies

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Project Management Tools (e.g, Asana) Microsoft Office, and Media Planning tools

  • Hands on experience in Google and/or Meta

Sales Management

  • Ensure execution of all retail and commercial in-store selling programs and promotions

  • Implement business plan and sales strategies such as Referral Pad distribution, phone answering scripts and add-on selling; track progress
  • Set and track individual and store goals to achieve store sales performance goals
  • Collaborate with the commercial sales team to ensure appointment and sales goals are met
  • Ensure all team members are achieving individual prospecting and lead generation goals
  • Analyze buying activity of existing accounts work to increase sales
  • Support the commercial sales team in all related sales activities (order processing, price quotes, stock checks, substitutions, follow-ups, etc.)
  • Provide service and support to commercial customers. Ensure customer deliveries are accurate and on time. Maintain third-party delivery vendor relationships (if applicable)
  • Manage Repair Center performance, quality and turn-around times

Personnel Management

  • Demonstrate and require a customer first mentality.
  • Schedule staffing based on the needs of the business within budgeted limits.
  • Develop and supervise Assistant Managers and Store Associates. Provide training for all retail and commercial sales, operational and safety policies and processes.
  • Delegate tasks, validate completion and ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, development and recognition. Develop the team for future roles, ensure the team understands the deliverables and is supportive of innovation and change.
  • Perform timely evaluations and implement progressive discipline.
  • Recruit, interview, select and hire as needed.

Operations Management

  • Oversee activities of Assistant Manager to ensure standards are met for merchandising, presentation, inventory management, loss prevention, safety, corporate reporting and facility management
  • Understand and manage controllables; address deficiencies. Identify and implement actions to control costs
  • Delegate tasks, validate completion and ensure policies and procedures are being followed
  • Function as a leader by acting in an influential and persuasive manner. At the same time, be a team player and individual contributor to attain company goals
  • Complete all of the Quest modules pertaining to device repair and manage the talent necessary to have an adequate number of device repair experts at the store. Device Repair Certification may be necessary for the Store Manager depending upon the needs of the individual store
  • Manage the flow of devices using the Work Order Management System

Qualifications:

  • Minimum H.S. diploma/equivalent; Advanced degree in business or retail management preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of retail management experience, preferably within a durable goods setting. Experience must include commercial (outside) sales
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Able to effectively manage confrontational situations in a controlled and courteous manner
