Harbour View Medical Center is Bon Secours' new, surgically focused hospital, set to open in early 2025. The facility will include 18 medical/surgical beds and up to four operating rooms. The 98,000-square-foot hospital will adjoin the existing Bon Secours Health Center at Harbour View campus, which includes an emergency department, outpatient imaging, outpatient lab services, an ambulatory surgery center and physician practices.

Respiratory Care Practitioner III - Harbour View Medical Center
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner III is responsible for providing respiratory care through patient assessment, planning, intervention, education and evaluation. Performs all respiratory care procedures including but not limited to oxygen and aerosolized medication delivery, ventilator care, bronchial hygiene therapy, diagnostic services and patient and staff education. Monitors the patient's response to such therapies and makes recommendations to change or modify based on the assessment.
Essential Functions:
May provide clinical instruction and/or in-service training to department staff, other healthcare team members, and students.
Provides support to clinical learning through mentorship, clinical rounds and practice evaluation provides clinical leadership for the advancement of professional respiratory practice to staff in the intensive care, general care, and outpatient services.
Provides feedback for coaching and performance evaluations of team members.
Assists with identifying quality improvement initiatives and design programs that provide measurable outcomes. Leads clinical research initiatives ensuring education, training, and implementation of the study design.
May be responsible for data collection and accurate record keeping as well as product evaluation and assessment.
Actively participates in facility councils and committees.
Serves as the shift -Charge Therapist- with responsibility of ensuring adequate number of respiratory care staff to cover patient care areas and needs. This may include assigning respiratory care staff to work areas and/or work assignments, modifying work assignments, assisting with meal coverage, fielding call offs and providing adequate staffing levels for the next shift.
May assist physician performing procedures such as bronchoscopy, transtracheal catheter insertion, tracheotomy in intubation (if intubation is performed by respiratory therapy in the facility), and invasive monitoring.
Performs CPR including closed chest compressions and airway management techniques in accordance with the AHA ACLS protocol.
Conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures to achieve maintenance of a patient airway, including use of appropriate airways including endotracheal tubes, nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal airways, maintenance of airway humidification, aspiration of secretions, extubation, maintenance of correct ETT cuff pressures and documents procedures in patient and department records.
Selects, assembles, monitors and evaluates mechanical ventilators for proper function and operation, including correction of malfunctions, cleanliness and determines appropriateness use for patient condition.
May perform pulmonary function tests (PFT).
Serves as a preceptor to new team members and/or students.
Assesses patient's physical status by inspection, palpation, auscultation, percussion, patient behavior and reviewing existing data in patient's record.
Performs treatments according to physician orders, explains therapy and therapeutic goals to patient; modifies treatment procedures based on patient response.
Determines appropriateness of prescribed therapy and recommends methods to physician to achieve therapeutic goals including IPPB, Aerosol therapy, Postural drainage and percussion, ultrasonic nebulizer, incentive spirometry, metered dose inhalers and spacers, etc.
Sets up and maintains different modes of oxygen therapy, to maintain adequate PaO2's with accurate inspired levels of oxygen.
Administers intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB) or Aerosol Therapy by first preparing the prescribed medication ordered by the physician and adjusting the machine or device to accomplish patient's individual clinical needs; document and observe patient's vital signs, productivity of cough, relief of Dyspnea, improved breath sounds and any adverse reactions to therapy; and use judgement and technical skill to determine possible adverse reactions and suggestions for appropriateness of therapy.
Gives postural drainage, vibration, percussion to ensure proper drainage of bronchial secretions by use of manual or mechanical percussion; check orders and X-rays for segments to be treated prior to initiating treatment; auscultation prior to and after procedure to note presence of clearance of secretions and response to therapy.
Instructs patients and families in incentive spirometer, metered dose inhaler (MDI) administration, postural drainage and clapping, oxygen therapy, ventilator care and home aerosol therapy.
Procurement of sputum for culture and sensitivity or airway clearance either by patient coaching, administration of mucolytics, aerosol therapy or endotracheal / nasopharyngeal suctioning.
Evaluates normal and pathologic blood and urine laboratory value ranges.
Performs arterial punctures and analysis; has an in-depth knowledge of analysis and arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation. Performs arterial line procedures, takes safety precautions, sterile procedure, flushing, and ABG aspirations.
May perform EKG's; understands electronic monitoring, lead placement, and basic arrhythmias.
Maintains all Respiratory Therapy equipment and supplies.
Responds to cardio-pulmonary resuscitations and actively participates as indicated by clinical circumstances.

Respiratory Care Practitioner II - Harbour View Medical Center
Job Summary:

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Nurse Director is responsible for the integration, facilitation, and coordination of administrative and clinical practice for the assigned nursing unit(s) with twenty-four hour accountability. Unit Description
This is a 35 bed-unit and is an intermediate/ICU step down unit. St. Joseph has recently opened a new cath lab and is currently doing diagnostics but will soon be doing interventions. The post-op cath lab patients will be housed on this unit until time of discharge. This unit has the ability to handle patients that are trached and on a ventilator. You will utilize your critical thinking skills while seeing patients with a higher acuity of illnesses. Some of those examples would be as follows: Sepsis, NSTEMI, Cardiac drips (ex: Cardizem) for irregular heart rhythms, Chest Pain, Kidney Failure, Respiratory Failure patients needing BiPAP/CPAP care. Unit Description
This is a 35 bed-unit and is an intermediate/ICU step down unit. St. Joseph has recently opened a new cath lab and is currently doing diagnostics but will soon be doing interventions. The post-op cath lab patients will be housed on this unit until time of discharge. This unit has the ability to handle patients that are trached and on a ventilator. You will utilize your critical thinking skills while seeing patients with a higher acuity of illnesses. Some of those examples would be as follows: Sepsis, NSTEMI, Cardiac drips (ex: Cardizem) for irregular heart rhythms, Chest Pain, Kidney Failure, Respiratory Failure patients needing BiPAP/CPAP care. Your experience on this unit will prepare you for endless possibilities to advance your career. Our new graduates will typically have a minimum of 12 weeks orientation to set you up for success.

8 South Extension is a thirty-two bed intermediate unit part of our Joint Commission Certified Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. Because we are a telemetry unit, we also see various cardiac diagnoses including new onset atrial fibrillation, chest pain and congestive heart failure.
We also feature eight medical -surgical pediatric beds to help us fulfill our level 1 trauma center certification.
This unit sees a variety of neurologic diagnoses as well as patients needing post intensive care after thrombectomies and stent placements.
This unit is honored to be a -Blue Ribbon Clinical Unit,- the winner of our infection prevention foley reduction hospital wide initiative, including Daisy Award Winners, and Nightingale award winners!

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient's problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care, all in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. The RN coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.

Respiratory Care Practitioner The Jewish Hospital
Job Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner I is responsible for providing respiratory care through patient assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. Performs all respiratory care procedures including but not limited to oxygen and aerosolized medication delivery, ventilator care, bronchial hygiene therapy, diagnostic services and patient and staff education. Monitors the patient's response to such therapies and makes recommendations to change or modify based on the assessment.
Essential Functions:
May serve as a preceptor to new team members and/or students.
Assesses patient's physical status by inspection, palpation, auscultation, percussion, patient behavior and reviewing existing data in patient's record.
Performs treatments according to physician orders, explains therapy and therapeutic goals to patient; modifies treatment procedures based on patient response.
Determines appropriateness of prescribed therapy and recommends methods to physician to achieve therapeutic goals including IPPB, Aerosol therapy, Postural drainage and percussion, ultrasonic nebulizer, incentive spirometry, metered dose inhalers and spacers, etc.
Sets up and maintains different modes of oxygen therapy, to maintain adequate PaO2's with accurate inspired levels of oxygen.
Administers intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB) or Aerosol Therapy by first preparing the prescribed medication ordered by the physician and adjusting the machine or device to accomplish patient's individual clinical needs; document and observe patient's vital signs, productivity of cough, relief of Dyspnea, improved breath sounds and any adverse reactions to therapy; and use judgement and technical skill to determine possible adverse reactions and suggestions for appropriateness of therapy.
Gives postural drainage, vibration, percussion to ensure proper drainage of bronchial secretions by use of manual or mechanical percussion; check orders and X-rays for segments to be treated prior to initiating treatment; auscultation prior to and after procedure to note presence of clearance of secretions and response to therapy.
Instructs patients and families in incentive spirometer, metered dose inhaler (MDI) administration, postural drainage and clapping, oxygen therapy, ventilator care and home aerosol therapy.
May assist doctor with bronchoscopy and tracheostomy; assists with tracheostomy endotracheal tube changes; ensures proper humidification.
Procurement of sputum for culture and sensitivity or airway clearance either by patient coaching, administration of mucolytics, aerosol therapy or endotracheal / nasopharyngeal suctioning.
Evaluates normal and pathologic blood and urine laboratory value ranges.
Performs arterial punctures and analysis; has an in-depth knowledge of analysis and arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation. Performs arterial line procedures, takes safety precautions, sterile procedure, flushing, and ABG aspirations.
May perform EKG's; understands electronic monitoring, lead placement, and basic arrhythmias.
Maintains all Respiratory Therapy equipment and supplies.

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Perform ad hoc analysis on new metrics, projects and initiatives.
Consistently generate and distribute monthly operations performance reports to key stakeholders.
Work closely with finance and market leadership to develop enhanced tools and reports.
Track a multitude of communications, resources and deadlines concurrently.
Complete monthly snapshot and trend reports, including KPI dashboard, MOR templates and others.

Pharmacy Operations Manager - Harbour View Hospital
Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Pharmacy in managing the pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Operations Manager will implement and enforce policies and procedures, supervision and training of staff, inventory management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. In addition, The Operations Manager shall assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director is unavailable.
Essential Functions:
Provides management and oversight of pharmacy-related activities within the department and supportive of system-level initiatives involving change and support for pharmaceutical care across the hospital
Selects, trains, orients, and assigns department staff to schedules. Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates recommendations for personnel actions
Assesses and standardizes medication dispensing practices and pharmacy workflows and encourages team member growth and development
Develop and actively participate in training and mentorship programs for pharmacists, pharmacy students, residents, technicians, nurses, and physicians
Work with the Pharmacy Director to identify and develop processes to meet or exceed all regulatory standards

Summary:
Performs various general duties and assists in the provision of patient care of all age groups as directed by the Registered Nurse and Organizational Leadership.
