  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Endoscopy - St Francis Medical Center Job Summary: The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN - Clinical Nurse Educator - The Perinatal Center - St. Mary's Hospital - Richmond

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/ GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The clinical nurse will facilitate the coordinated care of the Perinatal patients in the Perinatal Center and in the hospital as in-patients. The clinical nurse will assist patients in obtaining efficient and comprehensive clinical and supportive care as needed throughout their pregnancy. Delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifies and determines the priority of patient's problems/needs, and evaluates the process and outcome of nursing care; coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment and evaluates treatment effectiveness; administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures; serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments. Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department. Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or awaiting reciprocity. Maintain current CPR certification.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

  • Valid RN Nursing License from the state of practice

  • Experience within a physician practice setting.

  • Working knowledge of medical record format and content of patient records.

  • Requires a working knowledge and understanding of the clinical, psychosocial and pathophysiology of pregnancy and its complications.

  • Possesses ability to perform the range of nursing techniques, routine and non routine. Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate in a culturally diverse environment are required.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with practice managers and other medical group staff/leadership.

  • Work requires a high level of accuracy with the ability to concentrate on detailed information for extended periods of time.

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position:

The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, is committed to applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation, in diagnostic radiology.

Essential Job Functions:

- Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.

- Positions and immobilizes patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.

- Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.

- Performs radiographic procedures by selecting and operating imaging equipment, and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.

- Verifies informed consent and completes pre and post procedure documentation.

- Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures. Applies appropriate aseptic surgical technique as needed.

- Performs timeout as required per policy.

- Identifies, prepares and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

- Receives relays and documents verbal, written and electronic orders in the patient's medical record.

- Evaluates images for technical quality.

- Documents patient dose exposures.

- Professionally interacts with physicians, technologist, physician offices, hospital staff, patient family members and patients.

- Operates radiographic equipment and accessories in accordance with the principles of ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable).

The Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy and specimen collection. They use Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) to conduct functions related to phlebotomy, patient registration, order entry, result look-up and report generation. They process specimens for diagnostic testing and referral testing and sort specimen drop-offs according to insurance. They ensure accurate registration of specimens as needed.

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Specialty Pharmacy Liaison is responsible for supporting the standardization and optimization of specialty pharmacy services across Bon Secours Mercy Health. The goal of the Specialty Pharmacy Liaison is to ensure proper processing and problem-solving of specialty prescriptions and to provide patients and provider offices with a high level of service. The Specialty Pharmacy Liaison is responsible for providing excellent customer service via phone and occasional direct patient contact, assisting in preparing and dispensing medications and supplies, receiving patient prescriptions, reviewing the medication list with a patient, answering phones, and triaging phone calls to the pharmacist as necessary, and helping maintain the pharmacy in proper order. Essential Job Functions

  • Processes prescription information in the computer system and assists in complete and accurate billing of third-party payer plans.

  • Assists customers with prescriptions or other products and completes specialty orders to meet customer needs. Demonstrates ability to respond to customer and co-worker questions or concerns in an appropriate and customer-focused manner

  • Assists in the preparation and delivery of medications and supplies as assigned. Receives prescriptions from patients; gathers customer information per department policy. Prepares prescription drug therapy for patients in an accurate and timely fashion in accordance with all legal requirements, regulatory agencies, and Bon Secours Mercy Health policy

  • Manages and maintains an adequate and sufficient stock of specialty medications and assists the pharmacist in identifying patient problems and issues

  • Assists with obtaining prior authorizations and partners with specialty team and provider's office in appealing denials, where appropriate.

  • Coordinates delivery of medications, supplies, and equipment to patients or other areas as assigned.

  • Completes the work of a pharmacy technician as required

  • Cross-trains and cover all department technician areas assigned, and trains other staff members and students as needed. Assists in the maintenance of the pharmacy to reflect a clean and well-stocked condition on a daily basis

  • Provides initial patient setup to establish an account with the specialty pharmacy, and verifies patient insurance coverage.

  • Contacts insurance carriers, benefits offices, and patients to determine new and ongoing coverage levels: Verify insurance information and level of coverage, inform the patient of pharmacy benefits coverage, assist the patient with the specialty pharmacy process for non-participating pharmacy for patient ease in out-of-network situations

  • Plans and schedules patient deliveries with respect to efficiency, time, priority, product-specific shipping needs, and cost-effectiveness

JOB SUMMARY:

The Health Care Associate(HCA) /Patient Care Associate (PCA) works with his/her team partner(s), the Registered Nurse and the Unit Secretary, to provide direct patient care. As a member of the Patient Care Team, the HCA/PCA is cross-trained to perform a wide range of essential patient services.

The HCA/PCA performs a variety of basic age-specific duties to assist in the care of the patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). Job Summary

Manages the workflow of the Cath/PCI patients, in conjunction with the physicians, nursing staff, clinical support personnel, and administrative leadership. Position is responsible for acting as a patient liaison for the program, overseeing all patient-related clinical activities and requirements that parallel procedural operations. Works with physicians, referring physician offices, advanced practice providers, and other clinical personnel to manage the post-procedure activities for the Cath/PCI patients. Oversees all aspects of their respective specialty clinic, including database data entry, statistical reporting, and quality tracking activities. Performs program quality assessment and reports findings to the physicians and administrative team.

Essential Functions

Oversees all efforts related to guiding patients and families through the Post PCI education; acts as a patient liaison and, working with the clinicians and staff to ensure patient has education.

Oversees the scheduling of appointments and diagnostic studies; enrolls patients in clinical databases and studies, as deemed appropriate. Manages all aspects of the database(s), including data entry, data review and dissemination, and data/statistical reporting functions. Works with data abstraction team to ensure seamless workflow for quality measures.

Performs program quality assessment checks, audits, and reviews; develops and drives initiatives to eliminate barriers to care. Establishes processes and standards that ensure consistent and optimal patient navigation. Works with adjacent departments to ensure safe patient care.

Plans and develops patient-centered programs; reinforces patient education and directs patients and families to available resources and support services.

Supports Staff education initiatives that focus on safe patient recovery and care.

Recommends and implements program guidelines; develops the required tools and materials to coordinate the patient care sequence.

Attends relevant conferences and meetings. Keeps abreast of current literature and keeps current on industry practice standards.

  • Examines abnormal, diabetes-related laboratory and diagnostic reports, uses clinical judgement to discern next steps, and communicates verbally and in written form proposed therapeutic options to providers

  • Participates and completes assigned quality improvement activities using data from the electronic health record

  • Participates in selection of program materials for patient use

  • Completes peer performance reviews as assigned

  • Bills for services rendered in electronic health record and evaluates revenue integrity

  • Assumes additional tasks based BSPDH needs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 year/Bachelor's Degree

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Dietitian

  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietician by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One-year of post-graduate clinical experience in a similar position preferred

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Works closely with the Clinical Support Services team.

  • Other duties as assigned
