Job Description

The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and self-motivated Civil Specialist Drafter/ Designer or Technician for immediate employment in the Cincinnati, Ohio office.

This role will provide the opportunity to directly support transformational projects including the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project. This project is one of the largest highway infrastructure projects in the country and entails design and construction of existing bridge improvements and a new bridge crossing of the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Covington Kentucky, along with 8 miles of significant highway improvements. Design has begun and will extend over the coming years, providing a unique opportunity for multiple career-defining roles on the project. The Role Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • This position will be responsible for serving as primary departmental resource for CAD drafting/modeling at the project level

  • CAD drafting/modeling will be performed in a manner which adheres to accepted engineering practices and standards, as well as company standards

  • Prepare and issue all associated design/drafting packages in coordination with IT support staff

  • Assist in the development, implementation and deployment of CAD drafting/modeling and survey standards on a departmental level, as directed

  • Assume primary responsibility for providing a quality work product by checking the work product of associates and assuming both schedule and quality measures

  • Assist in the training and development of junior staff

  • This position affords the ability to make an important and meaningful contribution to our projects and our clients

  • The role will provide the opportunity for skill development in many aspects of the profession, as well as opportunities for increased responsibility, challenges and project management

  • The ability to work closely with design professionals at a project level with minimal supervision

  • The ability to work in a team environment, using time management and multi-tasking skills

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualification:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads strongly preferred

  • Modeling within OpenRoads or Civil 3D experience needed

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $28.00/hour - $40.00 /hour.

AECOM's EPP group is growing in the Pacific Northwest and is seeking a Senior level Environmental Planner to join our team. Successful candidates would join our diverse team to engage with our expanding pool of public and private sector clients to complete environmental compliance processes and documentation. AECOM's EPP group is growing in the Pacific Northwest and is seeking a Senior level Environmental Planner to join our team. Successful candidates would join our diverse team to engage with our expanding pool of public and private sector clients to complete environmental compliance processes and documentation. While we anticipate that this position would focus on serving our client base in the Pacific Northwest, candidates should anticipate having opportunities on environmental planning and permitting projects across the continental United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. The primary work location is Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Biology, Environmental Planning, Natural/Biological Resource Management or other related field experience.

  • 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in successfully supporting permitting and environmental impact analysis documents and associated technical studies and oversight of federal (National Environmental Policy Act [NEPA]) and state-specific (Washington State Environmental Policy Act [SEPA]), and local environmental permitting and compliance documents.

  • Valid U.S Driver's license is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 10 years of relevant environmental planning experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise in leading environmental planning and permitting efforts associated with the Pacific Northwest, specifically permitting by the Oregon and Washington Energy Facility Siting Councils (EFSC and EFSEC)

  • Knowledge of and experience applying the policies, standards, and regulations of County and municipal land use in Oregon and Washington.

  • Demonstrated leadership in the preparation of NEPA, SEPA, and/or CEQA environmental documents.

  • Demonstrated expertise in assembling federal and state permit applications packages to support project implementation, including packages in compliance with Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation Act.

  • Ability and experience understanding, interpreting, explaining, and applying all applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and standards to complex, specialized, and diverse land use planning processes or development proposals.

  • Ability and experience performing analysis of land use implications of project design alternatives and recommending or adopting effective courses of action.

  • Experience in consulting and interest in business development and client engagement, as well as presenting complex environmental documents to planning commissions, city councils, boards of supervisors, and other decision-making bodies.

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, and flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects.

  • Effective problem-solving abilities, and exceptional writing and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team and ensure performance of internal technical teams and subcontractors.

Job Description

The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Engineering Intern for employment during Spring/Summer 2025 in the Novi, Michigan office.

This position provides the opportunity to work on large, unique, and complex transportation projects throughout Michigan.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with field inspection teams for oversight of transportation construction projects.

  • Monitor and record the work and progress of contractors while tracking material quality and usage.

  • Ensure that traffic control measures are implemented and maintained during construction.

  • Perform field reviews and take field measurements.

  • Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

  • Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.

  • Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

  • Meet required schedules while producing quality work.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Construction Management and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

The Mechanical Intern will work in a highly collaborative environment on a wide range of projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing and building mechanical HVAC systems. This position is expected to begin in May or June 2025.

Job Description

AECOM is now accepting resumes and portfolios from exceptional Landscape Designers to join our growing Washington, DC design studio. The DC design studio continually imagines and delivers a wide range of highly significant, award winning, landscape architecture projects both regionally and globally. As a Designer in our Landscape Architecture and Urban Design studio, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of project types such as plazas, streetscapes, parks, waterfronts, multi-modal infrastructure, urban design plans, master-planning, green infrastructure and ecological restoration at all stages of planning, design and implementation. Our collaborative design practice provides a small studio feel with the resources and exposure of a premier, international, multidisciplinary consulting firm. This position is hybrid with required time spent in the office each week.

Responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to:

  • Works in collaboration with other designers on a wide array of projects ranging from streetscapes, urban spaces, and environmental remediation for a variety of Federal / Military clients

  • Prepares documents and graphics for all phases of landscape architectural design, inclusive of site analysis, master planning, schematic design, design development, and construction documents

  • Performing basic landscapt architectural calculations

  • Preparing specifications, reports, and related data tables

  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups

  • Preparing and reviewing drawings as required

  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets

  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project

  • Possess strong graphic skills to generate two-dimensional and three-dimensional Design Graphics

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Subcontracts Administrator II to support multiple West Region Business Lines. This will be a hybrid position including a combination of both remote and in-office.   • Prepare and executes purchase orders and agreements.

  • Work on several projects simultaneously with ability to prioritize to ensure all deadlines are met and maximize impact and results. Communicate effectively with internal clients regarding subcontract progress and accomplishments.

  • Negotiate deviations from company Terms & Conditions and minimum insurance requirements needed for various Scopes of Work.

  • Must be familiar with and preferably have significant experience with standard contractual Terms and Conditions and their meanings.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Certificates of Insurance as well as different policy types and limits.

  • Maintain subcontract and procurement documentation.

  • Contact subcontractors for timely submittal of proposals,and clarifications, and signed contractual Agreements.

  • Tabulate and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.

  • Achieve savings targets relative to management established benchmarks by managing workload in accordance with business objectives and internal client priorities.

  • Review invoices and resolves discrepancies.

  • Assist in the evaluation of disputes with suppliers.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree + 2 year of experience in subcontracting, procurement, or other similar function or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Understanding of contracting and procurement terminology, measures, concepts, principles, and strategies.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, construction management, economics, or similar field. 3+ years of experience in subcontracting or other similar function.

  • This individual will also serve as the primary project interface with the Federal Government Client's Contracting Official where so designated

  • Must ensure adherence to the firm's signature authority policy and facilitate approval of necessary and appropriate deviations

  • Coordinate with Corporate Auditing and support periodic internal project audits, outside project audits by clients, and federal and state agency audits

  • Respond to project/federal government client directives and requests involving financial information, contract compliance, subcontracting/procurement, cost proposals, project audit, project accounting, insurance, property, export control, international workflow, and other administrative issues

  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, develop the negotiating strategy and plan/lead, where appropriate, conduct contract negotiations with the Federal Government Client

  • Conducts strategic pricing planning and participate in technical proposal preparation in compliance with Federal Regulations and company policies and procedures

  • Oversees the administration of all elements of contractual terms and conditions from proposal stage through contract close-out and audit.

  • Directly and through subordinates, assists all departments in developing contracts within company policies.

  • Examines estimates and delivery schedules.

  • Prepares bids, process specifications, test and progress reports and other exhibits that may be required.

  • Negotiates complex contracts on large projects, customers or bidders.

  • Manages a team of contract administrators.

  • Serves as group/department or technical lead.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of federal contract management experience, including 2 years of leadership expereience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required in order to work on federal projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Access, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Experience building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, completeness, and thoroughness.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Subcontracts Administrator II to support multiple West Region Business Lines. This will be a hybrid position including a combination of both remote and in-office. The location of this position is flexible, but qualified candidates will need to be willing to potentially work Central standard time, Mountain time and Pacific standard time hours.

Duties & Responsibilities

Business:

  • Follow and enforce procurement related policies and procedures.

  • Develop intermediate understanding of subcontracting terminology, measures, concepts, principles, and strategies.

  • Foster relationships internally with stakeholders and externally with suppliers and other groups.

  • Present the subcontracting and procurement process to stakeholders in an effective manner.

  • Challenge the business when projects depart from basic procurement principles.

  • Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, solve problems, and make efficient and effective supply management decisions.

Technical:

  • Perform subcontracting and procurement functions.

  • Develop understanding of procurement systems and tools.

  • Prepare and solicit Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for all services and goods.

  • Prepare and executes purchase orders and agreements.

  • Work on several projects simultaneously with ability to prioritize to ensure all deadlines are met and maximize impact and results. Communicate effectively with internal clients regarding subcontract progress and accomplishments.

  • Negotiate deviations from company Terms & Conditions and minimum insurance requirements needed for various Scopes of Work.

  • Must be familiar with and preferably have significant experience with standard contractual Terms and Conditions and their meanings.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Certificates of Insurance as well as different policy types and limits.

  • Maintain subcontract and procurement documentation.

  • Contact subcontractors for timely submittal of proposals,and clarifications, and signed contractual Agreements.

  • Tabulate and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals.

  • Achieve savings targets relative to management established benchmarks by managing workload in accordance with business objectives and internal client priorities.

  • Review invoices and resolves discrepancies.

  • Assist in the evaluation of disputes with suppliers.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree + 2 year of experience in subcontracting, procurement, or other similar function or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Understanding of contracting and procurement terminology, measures, concepts, principles, and strategies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, construction management, economics, or similar field. 3+ years of experience in subcontracting or other similar function.

  • Competency to perform subcontracting and procurement functions.

  • Experience in managing tactical and strategic supplier relationships.

  • Previous experience working in a consulting engineering or professional services environment.

  • Previous experience working in a highly matrixed global and/or Fortune 500 organization.

  • Excellent analytical, judgment and practical operating skills in a multi-location, project-based industry.

  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing environment with high demand to flexibility.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement.

  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.

  • Advanced computer skills and ability to use procurement systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
