Job Description

AECOM is actively searching for a an experienced proposal leader to work within our Disaster Resilience Solutions (DRS) team as a Proposal and Marketing Specialist: Disaster Response and Recovery . We are looking for a proposal specialist to support strategic growth and winning work, for Federal, State and Local clients, in the disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation sectors. The Disaster Resilience Solutions (DRS) team supports federal, state, and local jurisdictions in addressing global challenges like sustainable development, climate change, humanitarian services, and disaster risk management, helping clients with preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts to implementing safeguards for resilient communities.

In this role, you will collaborate with regional and business line teams on identified priority pursuits, lead and support pre-positioning, internal and external marketing communications, RFP/RFQ responses, and interview preparation. You will work with a cross-discipline team from marketing, operations, contracts, procurement, small business programs, finance, and others as applicable. This position is within a dynamic, high-functioning team of 45+ Federal proposal and marketing experts.

This will be a hybrid work schedule position including a combination of both remote and in-office, that can be based in, but not limited to: Arlington, VA; Roanoke, VA; Atlanta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Austin, TX.

Job Responsibilities:

Proposal Management Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of compliant and compelling RFP/RFI responses for large (>$15 - $20M+), Federal, State and Local pursuits from capture through to interview stage, as required.

  • In partnership with the Capture Manager, leading/participating in Go/No-Go, capture planning and positioning activities and develop the win strategies, themes, discriminators, source content, graphic concepts, and other writer guidance.

  • Review and translate RFP and amendment requirements into a compliance matrix, annotated proposal outline, and content plans. Monitor and respond to amendments.

  • Write and/or edit proposal content such as executive summaries, past performance sections, management approaches, and resumes/staffing sections; and providing detailed writing guidance to others for the development of technical and pricing sections.

  • Lead Pink and Red reviews and serve as a reviewer on teams for DRS Federal pursuits, applying insight and knowledge related to this specific market sector.

  • This position has accountability for the quality, compliance and timely delivery of the final deliverable.

  • Supporting debriefs, after action reviews, and gathering of client feedback on proposals to provide continuous improvement.

  • May serve as an active mentor to other proposal specialists.

Marketing Communications Responsibilities

  • Develop insights, provides recommendations and makes decisions about future content activity.

  • Produce content to support thought leadership, abstracts for conferences, pre-positioning for proposals, campaigns, marketing collateral, services, product and events. Content creation may be in the form of blogs, articles, reports, case studies, videos, website text, podcasts or infographics in collaboration with the Marketing Communications and Design team.

  • Lead or support special projects involving teams of BL or multiple BLs staff, as directed by BL Marketing Director.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant proposal and/or marketing experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of related experience with development and management of proposals valued >$15-$20 million in the architecture and engineering sector for Federal, state, and local clients.

  • Strong proposal and communications writing skills.

  • Experience with rapid or emergency response, and/or disaster recovery programs.

  • Has extensive knowledge of how to write and optimize content for proposals, the web, intranets, podcasts, panel discussions/thought leadership, and awards entries.

Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Engineer for employment in the Omaha, NE office. This position would support the Environmental business line, primarily working on Federal projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

  • Prepare technical work plans and reports.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • Plan, execute, analyze, and report on environmental measures in natural systems.

  • Apply standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, sediment; prepare samples for shipping, and complete chain-of-custody or similar paperwork.

  • Apply knowledge of natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics) to explain observations.

  • Study contaminants and determine how to restore the environment.

  • Prepare basic data and scientific documents.

  • Review analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine analyses based on well-defined guidelines.

  • Coordination with task and project managers, working with on-site subcontractors and field staff, supporting sampling, data collection, and field documentation.

  • Provide technical expertise support.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil, chemical, mechanical, or environmental Engineering or other related discipline

  • 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional registration or on track to obtain professional registration.

  • Ability to travel for fieldwork and/or meetings. This position may require signicant travel (several months a year) within the United States.

  • Proficiency in standard office suite software applications.

  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire

  • Database, GIS, CAD, visualization software skills are desirable

  • Ability to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees.

  • Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner.

  • Ability to learn through on-the-job experience.

  • Frequently lifting, carrying, and loading equipment without assistance up to 50lbs.

  • Previous experience or proven ability in operating a full-size pickup truck.

  • Prepare technical work plans and reports.

This position will be based in the New York Metropolitan area and will be a hybrid position including a combination of both remote and in-office, with the expectation to go into the Manhattan AECOM office (605 Third Ave, New York) at least 1 day a week.

Major Responsibilities:

Pursuit Strategy, Development and Quality

  • Responsible for managing responses to requests for qualifications (RFQ) and requests for proposals (RFP), across multiple disciplines - transportation, water, environment/energy, PM/CM

  • Leads and/or participates in proposal strategy development and planning with capture teams and helps develop and apply the win plan, themes, and discriminators throughout marketing materials.

  • Develop proposal outlines and schedule and manage them for compliance

  • Run proposal project team/proposal review meetings and manage proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams.

  • Proactively gather materials from project team and write, edit, and coordinate proposal content, ensuring compliance with client requirements.

  • Coordinate graphics, including organization charts, maps, flow charts, and matrices, with graphics team

  • Coordinate with subconsultant companies to request and collect marketing materials for proposal submissions

  • Proactively conduct quality assurance/quality control on proposal/marketing materials through strong grammatical skills and attention to consistency and detail

  • Perform final layout in InDesign and produce hard copies if required

  • Update SalesForce database with proposal information in a timely fashion

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 2 years of relevant proposal writing experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field

  • 3-4 years of relevant proposal writing experience a plus

  • Prior experience in the AEC industry preferred

  • Organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage and complete varied work tasks on schedule

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to write and edit proposal materials

  • Diplomacy with peers and internal clients in handling challenging situations

  • Takes initiative and formulates creative ideas in proposals, presentations, and other marketing related areas

  • Experience with graphic design and layout. Proficient in ADOBE Acrobat Suite, specifically InDesign

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM SalesForce

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced mid-level civil/environmental engineer to work in the Environmental Business line with an engineering design group on projects involving Integrated Facility Closure. This position involves working on projects that will encompass initial environmental site assessments of industrial facilities all the way thru decommissioning and demolition. Projects will also include site remediation and post-remediation site development, solid waste management, stormwater design/management, and oversight of construction services, for a variety of industrial and power clients across the U.S.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. and 6+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.

  • Required to travel (25%).

  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio and/or other states with the ability to obtain an Ohio license within 6 months.

  • Valid driver's License.

  • US Citizenship Required.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge in developing site/civil plans and drawings, including advanced experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D: Create Civil 3D surfaces & grading; process and evaluate raw survey data; create alignments, profiles, sections, and pipe networks.

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.

  • Familiar with hazardous materials survey procedures.

  • Familiar with utility planning and abandonment procedures.

  • Familiar with subsurface investigations.

  • Familiar with standard engineering practices, construction, and operation techniques, principles, and procedures associated with power generation facilities, specifically fossil generation coal combustion residuals (CCR).

  • Familiar with federal and local construction permitting requirements.

  • Familiar with construction testing methods and procedures.

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.

  • Strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn, with a desire to work in a dynamic and fast pace deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and coordinate among multi-disciplinary design teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrate experience in storrmwater management and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling using HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar programs.

  • Demonstrate experience in solid waste management, CCR impoundment closures, including design and/or closure of landfills and other solid and/or liquid waste impoundments.

The Traffic Monitoring Dispatcher position involves working with multiple software platforms and web-based applications to carry out various tasks. Traffic Management Center (TMC) Dispatchers are accountable for utilizing Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) software to monitor state roads and manage events/incidents; dispatching incident management personnel; addressing public inquiries, and facilitating effective communication, coordinating, and collaborating with other staff, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) personnel, and other partnering agencies.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The TMC in Orlando, FL, houses a 24/7/365 program that provides incident management, dispatching, and traveler information services for Florida's roadways. AECOM's operations team works in shifts at the TMC facility, constantly monitoring and responding to changing traffic conditions and their effects on safety while maintaining direct communication with motorists, first responders, FDOT staff, and mobility stakeholders of FDOT.

The routine responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use software and applications to control and monitor various Intelligent Transportation Systems devices located along freeways, such as surveillance cameras, dynamic message signs, and ramp meters located on freeway entrance ramps

  • Monitor camera video and other information sources for the detection and verification of events that impact traffic flow and safety, such as motorist assists, traffic crashes, debris removal, abandoned vehicles, stalled vehicles, maintenance activity, and construction activity

  • Log potential and confirmed events that impact traffic flow and safety using software applications, including traffic lane and road shoulder closures related to construction and maintenance activity

  • Dispatch Highway Emergency Response Operators who provide roadside services on freeways in the South Florida region related to traffic crashes and roadway hazard events

  • Provide clear and accurate directions to the location of traffic events and an accurate description as advised by citizens, public safety partners, or FDOT personnel

  • Monitor software-generated response plans to mitigate the effect on freeway traffic flow and update the response plans as necessary

  • Monitor weather conditions for potential and observed effects on traffic flow, and take appropriate action to provide notifications to motorists and agencies about roadway conditions affected by weather

  • Coordinate and collaborate with FDOT signal personnel which is the program tasked with performing FDOT's traffic signal management services

  • Update information on FDOT's traveler information website, fl511.com

  • Participate in technical and customer service training and certification activity as required by the program

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Guidelines provided by the program

  • Perform routine updates of asset records, equipment, and contact lists

COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform communication tasks consistent with the program's high level of customer service expectations and training

  • Dispatch and communicate with road rangers using program-directed radio and phone communication protocols

  • Communicate with appropriate local agencies, authorities, and RISC wrecker companies to effectively monitor and clear traffic incidents

  • Answer phone calls and provide information or assistance to motorists, FDOT personnel, or other agencies on traffic and road conditions; transfer calls to designated personnel as appropriate

  • Answer phone calls for FDOT statewide maintenance staff outside of business hours; and dispatch the necessary personnel

  • Communicate via radio/phone with law enforcement, ambulance, fire department, and towing service staff and provide clear and accurate information regarding traffic incidents and the response required

  • Communicate via radio/phone with Department personnel statewide, including FDOT Maintenance and Construction personnel, FDOT Traffic Operations management, FDOT management, and Federal Highway Administration staff as appropriate, to provide clear and accurate information regarding incidents, traffic, road, maintenance, and construction activity, and related weather conditions

  • Perform written documentation of activity and communication in a clear, concise, and complete manner

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods while monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems such as CCTV camera displays, ramp meters, law enforcement radio broadcasts, answering/responding to calls, and communicating with other staff or partnering agencies.

  • Ability to operate software platforms and web-based applications

  • Must pass a state and federal criminal history/security background check

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a call center, customer service, 911 Operator, or dispatching environment

  • Demonstrate ability to meet a high level of customer service expectations

  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

AECOM is actively seeking an energetic technology minded Geographic Information System (GIS) professional for immediate employment in the Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton Installation Geospatial Information and Services (IGI&S) office as a seconded employee. The GIS Specialist is a full-time AECOM employee that will report to the Associate Vice President & GIS Sr Manager in the Technology Services Group and will support our United States Marine Corps (USMC) client within the Environment Business line. This position will be part of a team of GIS Specialists supporting the MCB Camp Pendleton IGI&S Program with GIS data management, geospatial analysis and modeling, cartographic product development, and technical support. A successful candidate will work both independently and in close coordination with the project team to develop, deploy and support GIS across the installation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather and review technical requirements to meet project goals and implement quality assurance procedures.

  • Follow project plans to successfully execute assigned work.

  • Work with the AECOM team lead to ensure quality in all work products.

  • Maintain strong knowledge in existing and emerging GIS related software and technologies.

  • Provides engineering technical and management leadership for an operating unit(s)

This individual will be playing a lead role in design, testing, and inspection of fire protection and life safety systems. AECOM is seeking a Entry Level Water/Wastewater Engineer to be based in Columbus, Ohio.

This position is expected to begin in May or June 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump/booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.

  • Work under supervision of a senior project manager in the water/wastewater/water resources practice or senior level team members.

  • Utilize basic engineering principles, judgement, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.

  • Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.

  • Perform work with little supervision.

  • Propose approaches to solve new problems.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering + none or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • A valid U.S. Driver's License is required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites.

Preferred Qualifications

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, highly skilled and proficient GIS Specialist III for immediate employment in the Conshohocken or Pittsburgh, PA office in a full-time role. The successful candidate will work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment in both in-person and virtual (telework) settings.   • Develop and maintain GIS standards, databases, reports, and mapping.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree In GIS, Geography, or a related field +4 years of GIS, GIS-related programing/coding, utility siting, or other relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • The position may require periodic travel (including overnight), extended work hours, working remotely, evening or weekend work hours.

  • Valid Driver's License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.

  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with electric utility, natural gas, and/or renewable energy clients.

  • ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online/ArcGIS Enterprise, and/or other relevant ArcGIS software.

  • Assists Ohio Leadership with business development and in interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating client proposals and marketing efforts.

  • Plans, schedules, conducts, coordinates, and manages detailed phases of roadway engineering projects.

  • Senior technical resource which will serve as technical advisor for team

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
