Responsible for leading implementation and outcomes evaluation activities performed by the American Heart Association Data Science and Evaluation Team. Responsible for conducting both large and small-scale evaluation studies to assess impact, performance, and efficiency for programs and initiatives aimed at the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and promotion of ideal cardiovascular health.
This is a full time, benefits eligible, grant funded opportunity. Current funding will expire on December 31, 2024 with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities
Designs and implements both short-turn-around and long-term evaluation plans for programs across the portfolio of American Heart Association initiatives with minimal supervision
Independently and proactively manages all aspects of assigned evaluation projects, including collaborative coordination of project activities across multiple business units and external organizations
Develops and implements data collection plans (using quantitative and qualitative methods) that secure buy-in from all key stakeholders (including the program implementer) and which optimize information-flow through the program life-cycle (planning, implementation, and evaluation) with minimal supervision
Writes sections of evaluation proposals for new projects
Independently selects and refines standard study measures, develops and implements surveys (paper and online), and oversee quality control of data collection, including managing and preparing relational databases and data-sets to facilitate data analysis; conduct appropriate statistical analyses on quantitative and qualitative data
Independently produces written reports and presentations detailing evaluation background, critical evaluation questions, evaluation methods, findings, and recommendations
Demonstrates risk management skills: identifies potential barriers to successful completion of evaluation deliverables and workplans and appropriately engages support from manager and other resources as needed to ensure quality of and completion of projects
Leads development of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications and presentations based on evaluation studies conducted, including coordinating involvement with American Heart Association volunteers; presents at scientific conferences and meetings
Responsible for evaluation activities on the NIH-funded Genomic Analysis, Visualization and Informatics Lab-space (AnVIL) Clinical Resource, which will involve assessing the needs of clinical genomics researchers and evaluating the usability of deployed AnVIL resources, and evaluation of other programs and initiatives.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Public Health or related area
Five (5) years of experience designing and implementing both short-turn-around and long-term evaluation plans for health-related programs
Five (5) years of experience creating and implementing data collection instruments for both quantitative (surveys/questionnaires) and qualitative (interview/focus group guides) approaches
Five (5) years of project management and coordination experience
Advanced knowledge of research design and methodology
Ability to understand scientific communication (journals, briefings, reports, statistics, etc.) and to synthesize complex scientific/evaluation findings into reports or communications for both lay, business, and scientific audiences
Comprehensive knowledge of public, community and population health models
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders, including representatives of priority populations
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products for project management purposes
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and consistently perform well during times of increased workload
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years of experience designing and implementing evaluations for health-related programs focused on cardiovascular diseases or cardiovascular disease risk factors
Three (3) years of experience developing evaluation plans for programs implemented in healthcare settings
Ability to creatively consider alternative solutions to tasks
Interest in lifelong learning and opportunities for professional development and growth
Proficient in software used for data management and statistical analyses (e.g. R, SAS, STATA) and qualitative analysis (e.g., NVivo, Dedoose)

We are currently hiring a Senior Development Coordinator within our Greater Phoenix Division based in Tempe, Arizona.
The Senior Development Coordinator will be responsible for the logistics and administrative management for the Greater Phoenix Heart Ball campaign which includes the Heart Ball event, auxiliary fundraising and volunteer/donor cultivation events; maintaining databases and spreadsheets; coordinating event administration, schedules and meetings; controlling inventory of marketing, presentation, or fundraising materials; and preparing detailed financial and operations reports. Responsibilities
Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates fundraising events (virtual and/or in-person). Includes all aspects of event planning: event design, vendor selection and management, contract negotiation, visual innovation, budget management, resource optimization and execution excellence. Evaluates effectiveness of event plans and event implementation processes and finds ways to improve efficiencies, collaboration and attendee experience. Secures and assists with volunteer committee donor/pledge forms, underwriting forms and in-kind donations to ensure all campaign deadlines are met. Helps to ensure vendors adhere to contractual obligations and that service levels are maintained or exceeded. Develops staffing plan for assigned events. Manages vendors on event day.
Assists volunteer committee(s) with detailed project and administrative management including scheduling and tracking activities and execution of agreed upon deliverables.
Creates and runs reports from internal databases and systems. Ensures that income targets, goals, weekly reports are timely, clear and effective in meeting leadership needs related to revenue reporting. Tracks and reports on sponsorship income, pledged dollar amounts and event donation information for events. Ensures accuracy and adherence to the latest policies and practices of the AHA as they relate to fiscal and event financials.
Prepares and maintains fundraising materials and presentations as well as event collateral and marketing material in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Coordinates logistics for auxiliary events and donor/sponsor meetings.
Monitors event budget. Coordinates and tracks invoicing, expenses, and peripheral accounts for event(s). Prepares and distributes reports as requested.
May assist with the on-site distribution of collateral materials and volunteer access to AHA systems including set-up and coordination of online giving strategies.
Prepares and communicates schedules, meetings and ensures deadlines are met.
Performs administrative duties as required or requested.
Assists with the solicitation, collection, deposit and reporting of donations.
Qualifications
2 years of relevant experience in meeting and event planning
Ability to do daily local travel up to 20%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Customer Relationship Management systems; Excel proficiency is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and in written form

Join us for the summer! We are seeking a full-time service member starting May 20, 2024 to serve at Coalfield Health in Chapmanville, WV. While most of our opportunities are full-time (41.25 hours), part-time opportunities may be available (25 hours per week). Service placements are typically Monday-Friday. Some placements may include occasional evening or weekend hours.

Assist with public health surveys. This may include recruiting participants, administering the survey in-person or via phone, tracking data, and/or running reports.
Coordinate and assist with blood pressure, nutrition security, and tobacco screening and referrals to needed services in clinical or community settings.
Help assess community member barriers to healthcare access and potential solutions.
Deliver health education, 1:1 or group settings, on heart health related topics including cardiovascular disease, smoking cessation, nutrition, blood pressure, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Help identify and collaborate with local resources and organizations to support healthy living and skill building within the community.
Support patients/community members in navigating the care, community programs, resources they need around monitoring blood pressure, nutrition security, smoking cessation, and cardiovascular health.
Launch learning collaboratives for health or community centers. This may include developing and delivering presentations using AHA's evidence-based data, prepared materials, and program resources.
Plan and conduct local health skill building workshops, health fairs, town halls or community conversations - to raise awareness and help community members manage their health.
Cultivate and manage volunteer clubs in local schools or community organizations.
Educate community groups on hands-only CPR.
Actively participate in AmeriCorps pre-service orientation, HeartCorps member development meetings and assigned trainings.
Qualifications

Compensation & Benefits
HeartCorps Service Members serving full-time (41.25 hours per week) will receive:

Roles of Service Members:
To address the disproportionate rates of uncontrolled hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases in rural communities, HeartCorps members, under the guidance of their host site supervisor, will
Facilitate adoption of evidence-based blood pressure measurement practices.
Assist with public health surveys. This may include recruiting participants, administering the survey in-person or via phone, tracking data, and/or running reports.
Coordinate and assist with blood pressure, nutrition security, and tobacco screening and referrals to needed services in clinical or community settings.
Help assess community member barriers to healthcare access and potential solutions.
Deliver health education, 1:1 or group settings, on heart health related topics including cardiovascular disease, smoking cessation, nutrition, blood pressure, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Help identify and collaborate with local resources and organizations to support healthy living and skill building within the community.
Support patients/community members in navigating the care, community programs, resources they need around monitoring blood pressure, nutrition security, smoking cessation, and cardiovascular health.
Launch learning collaboratives for health or community centers. This may include developing and delivering presentations using AHA's evidence-based data, prepared materials, and program resources.
Plan and conduct local health skill building workshops, health fairs, town halls or community conversations - to raise awareness and help community members manage their health.
Cultivate and manage volunteer clubs in local schools or community organizations.
Educate community groups on hands-only CPR.
Actively participate in AmeriCorps pre-service orientation, HeartCorps member development meetings and assigned trainings.
Qualifications
Participation Requirements Include:
At least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
Reliable transportation to get to and from host site each day and to community-based activities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Service members who will use their personal vehicle for HeartCorps related travel during their service period will be required to maintain a valid drivers' license as well as at least the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage required by law. These members will also be required to provide a copy of their valid license and documentation of the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage during the onboarding process.
Experience or coursework in public health, health communications, health promotion, or health sciences preferred.

Members will serve onsite at a health center, hospital, public health department or non-profit organization within the rural community.
Join us for the summer! We are seeking a full-time service member starting May 20, 2024 to serve at the Beaufort Jasper Hampton Comprehensive Health Services, Inc. in Okatie, SC. While most of our opportunities are full-time (41.25 hours), part-time opportunities may be available (25 hours per week). Service placements are typically Monday-Friday. Some placements may include occasional evening or weekend hours.

Responsibilities
Roles of Service Members:
To address the disproportionate rates of uncontrolled hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases in rural communities, HeartCorps members, under the guidance of their host site supervisor, will
Facilitate adoption of evidence-based blood pressure measurement practices.
Assist with public health surveys. This may include recruiting participants, administering the survey in-person or via phone, tracking data, and/or running reports.
Coordinate and assist with blood pressure, nutrition security, and tobacco screening and referrals to needed services in clinical or community settings.
Help assess community member barriers to healthcare access and potential solutions.
Deliver health education, 1:1 or group settings, on heart health related topics including cardiovascular disease, smoking cessation, nutrition, blood pressure, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Help identify and collaborate with local resources and organizations to support healthy living and skill building within the community.
Support patients/community members in navigating the care, community programs, resources they need around monitoring blood pressure, nutrition security, smoking cessation, and cardiovascular health.
Launch learning collaboratives for health or community centers. This may include developing and delivering presentations using AHA's evidence-based data, prepared materials, and program resources.
Plan and conduct local health skill building workshops, health fairs, town halls or community conversations - to raise awareness and help community members manage their health.
Cultivate and manage volunteer clubs in local schools or community organizations.
Educate community groups on hands-only CPR.
Actively participate in AmeriCorps pre-service orientation, HeartCorps member development meetings and assigned trainings.
Qualifications
Participation Requirements Include:
At least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
Reliable transportation to get to and from host site each day and to community-based activities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to learn and grow during service term.
Passion for health equity and interest in promoting health in rural America.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently, prioritize work assignments, and meet deadlines.
Customer and solution focused. Good listener, non-judgmental, open minded, and resourceful.
Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria-nationwide check of the National Sex Offender Public website, state criminal history record check, and a fingerprint-based check of the FBI criminal history record database.
Service members who will use their personal vehicle for HeartCorps related travel during their service period will be required to maintain a valid drivers' license as well as at least the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage required by law. These members will also be required to provide a copy of their valid license and documentation of the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage during the onboarding process.
Experience or coursework in public health, health communications, health promotion, or health sciences preferred.
Some host sites may require proof of vaccination for Covid-19 or other immunizations as a condition of placement. Candidates will be made aware if applicable to their application for a particular host site.
Compensation & Benefits
HeartCorps Service Members serving full-time (41.25 hours per week) will receive:
A bi-weekly living stipend of $1108.70 (taxable).*
Healthcare benefits.
A childcare subsidy if eligible.
Professional development.
An educational award upon successful completion of service.

Provides mentorship and supervision for Director level staff implementing events and Community Health actions. Responsibilities
Guide and lead team to achieve event and campaign revenue goals. Accountable for hiring, directing, training, evaluating, and terminating staff under their supervision.
Develop, monitor, and evaluate an annual working plan with dollar and volunteer recruitment goals, budget, and timelines for the events. Develop contingency plans, as needed to successfully complete fundraising activities.
Develop profiles on the top businesses within the assigned geographic area with a detailed plan to secure their involvement. Complete company goal setting worksheets and prioritize companies by their potential.
Develop and lead volunteer Board of Directors, consisting of top-level corporate executives.
Build, monitor, and evaluate an annual working plan with dollar and volunteer recruitment goals, budget, and timelines for the events.
Develop profiles on the top businesses within the assigned market areas and build relationships with key corporate leaders who can support initiatives.
Responsible for staff follow-up and monitoring of assigned fundraising activities.
Qualifications

University/College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Must have at least 4 to 5 years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a nonprofit organization in a similar capacity.
Must have at least 2 years of experience in a management capacity. This experience may occur within the 2-year related experience requirement. Experience gained through direct internal work on the Associations projects/priorities may substitute for this requirement and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledge of community organization, sales, fundraising, and marketing principles, practices, techniques, and trends.
Validated verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations, and similar narrative pieces.
Ability to read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fundraising reports. Skill in use of spreadsheet/database analysis.
Ability to function independently with minimal direction.
Ability to delegate and accomplish goals through volunteers.
Ability to do daily travel up to 75% and overnight travel up to 25%.
Must have at least basic knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
Must be able to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.

Assist with public health surveys. This may include recruiting participants, administering the survey in-person or via phone, tracking data, and/or running reports.
Coordinate and assist with blood pressure, nutrition security, and tobacco screening and referrals to needed services in clinical or community settings.
Help assess community member barriers to healthcare access and potential solutions.
Deliver health education, 1:1 or group settings, on heart health related topics including cardiovascular disease, smoking cessation, nutrition, blood pressure, and chronic diseases such as diabetes.
Help identify and collaborate with local resources and organizations to support healthy living and skill building within the community.
Support patients/community members in navigating the care, community programs, resources they need around monitoring blood pressure, nutrition security, smoking cessation, and cardiovascular health.
Launch learning collaboratives for health or community centers. This may include developing and delivering presentations using AHA's evidence-based data, prepared materials, and program resources.
Plan and conduct local health skill building workshops, health fairs, town halls or community conversations - to raise awareness and help community members manage their health.
Cultivate and manage volunteer clubs in local schools or community organizations.
Educate community groups on hands-only CPR.
Actively participate in AmeriCorps pre-service orientation, HeartCorps member development meetings and assigned trainings.
Qualifications
Participation Requirements Include:
At least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
Reliable transportation to get to and from host site each day and to community-based activities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to learn and grow during service term.
Passion for health equity and interest in promoting health in rural America.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently, prioritize work assignments, and meet deadlines.
Customer and solution focused. Good listener, non-judgmental, open minded, and resourceful.

Qualifications
Participation Requirements Include:
At least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
United States citizen, United States national, or a lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
Reliable transportation to get to and from host site each day and to community-based activities.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Willingness to learn and grow during service term.
Passion for health equity and interest in promoting health in rural America.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently, prioritize work assignments, and meet deadlines.
Customer and solution focused. Good listener, non-judgmental, open minded, and resourceful.
Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria-nationwide check of the National Sex Offender Public website, state criminal history record check, and a fingerprint-based check of the FBI criminal history record database.
Service members who will use their personal vehicle for HeartCorps related travel during their service period will be required to maintain a valid drivers' license as well as at least the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage required by law. These members will also be required to provide a copy of their valid license and documentation of the minimum automobile liability insurance coverage during the onboarding process.
Experience or coursework in public health, health communications, health promotion, or health sciences preferred.
Some host sites may require proof of vaccination for Covid-19 or other immunizations as a condition of placement. Candidates will be made aware if applicable to their application for a particular host site.
Compensation & Benefits
HeartCorps Service Members serving full-time (41.25 hours per week) will receive:
A bi-weekly living stipend of $1108.70 (taxable).*

Responsibilities
Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations. Achieve revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research that matches to the campaign goals and the Association's mission.
Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
Recruit and be responsible for executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers.
Coordinate Heart Ball and Hard Hats with Heart, including leading a committee of volunteers to solicit auction items and prepare packages that will raise funds.
Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with other appropriate fundraising staff. Includes planning and implementing regular engagement events for members.
Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.
Qualifications
3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

Internship Overview:

Responsibilities
Tasks could include things like the following:

Helping with follow-up calls and reach-outs to prospects
Assist with Letter of Intent and Attachment A creation/processing
Assist with Hands-only CPR events
Assisting administrative staff with tasks such as printing, collating, thank you cards, etc.
Qualifications
Effective oral, written and presentation communication skills
Ability to work professionally with colleagues and professional volunteers
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
Experience with public speaking in small and large groups.
Meeting management and event management including set up, outlook invitations, copies, catering, logistics and meeting minutes
Knowledge of business letter writing format, style, and protocol
Intermediate use in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of Canva is a plus
Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection & Reliable Transportation
Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
