As an experienced Solid Rocket Motor Structural Analyst, your expertise will provide valuable insight in the development, test, and certification of solid rocket motor propulsion systems for a wide variety of NASA's ongoing and future projects. You will provide technical oversight in the structural evaluation and design of solid rocket motors elements including motor case, igniter, nozzle, propellant, liner, and insulation (PLI), for both large boosters and small specialty motors.
Primary job duties include engaging with vehicle development teams to provide insight on solid motor systems, as well as producing independent analytical assessments. You will provide input for structural analyses of solid rocket motor elements, combined fluid-structural interaction, fracture mechanics, and complex material characterization testing. You will also collaborate with solid motor vendors in the development of integrated flight hardware and associated ground test equipment.
Qualifications:
BS degree (MS or PhD preferred) from an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; or Engineering Mechanics with an emphasis in structural analysis is required. A minimum of 15 years of experience in the application of finite element methods, empirical closed-form structural analysis techniques, and the assessment of failure mechanisms is required.
Specialized expertise is required in the development and test-validation of material properties for viscoelastic PLI systems, as well as in the characterization of ablative composite nozzle materials.
Familiarity with one or more major commercial finite element code such as PATRAN, NASTRAN, ABAQUS, or ANSYS is required.
Familiarity with NASA standards and MSFC Specifications, as well as qualification / certification requirements and processes associated with rocket propulsion systems and man-rated vehicles is also highly desired.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

BRIEF OUTLINE OF SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct a wide variety of non-procedural gasoline and diesel engine dynamometer testing. Support development, durability and performance testing in an engine dynamometer facility. Collect, review and validate data for accuracy and completeness and make recommendation to engineering.
Fabricate basic fixtures. Interface with Technologists, Product Engineers, and Supervisors on updates/new test procedures, equipment and methods.
Verify the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and test systems.
Install engines on dynamometer, hook up instrumentation, diagnose / troubleshoot problems, conduct tests, change engine parts if necessary, and remove engine and instrumentation.

We are currently seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Winchester, VA area. In this position you'll be a part of a team that maintains and supports our customers equipment by ensuring that the telecommunications systems are fully functional. Work as a Telecommunication Specialist in a high-tempo environment is support of a DISA SP program that provides onsite operation and maintenance (O&M) support of secure and unsecure voice, video, data systems, networks, and information systems.

This opportunity will provide technical leadership and systems engineering and integration support to the Systems Planning and Technical Leadership Branch/(EV71) in support of the Space Launch System (SLS) Exploration Upper Stage (EUS) Element and the EUS Lead Systems Engineer (ELSE). The candidate chosen for this position will serve as the technical manager for the development of EUS requirements, verification planning, and system analysis efforts. The EUS Alt. LSE will work closely with the EUS Chief Engineer (CE), the EUS engineering Discipline Lead Engineers (DLEs), and the engineering branch management to define, prioritize, and direct critical systems level engineering work.
The successful candidate will assist the EUS ELSE by leading the EUS Element team, coordinate with the EUS Prime Contractor, represent the EUS Office EUSO ELSE in SLS integrated vehicle level meetings, report to EUS management, and support data deliveries. The candidate chosen for this position will provide leadership and/or support for the development of key systems engineering products for the EUS Element and shall support subsequent activities where these products are assessed and matured.
