Job Description

Must provide performance-oriented training using the TRADOC-approved Program of Instruction (POI). The full spectrum of training includes but is not limited to: classroom (platform and small group) training; hands-on/practical exercise training; role playing; simulation/virtual training; and field exercise training. Training may be for resident and non-resident training courses and in support of mobile training. Shall also participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in developing revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans and Training Support Packages (TSPs) to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A WINDSHEAR TEST CELL OPERATOR:

Job responsibilities will be progressive, and assigned based on individual skills. Specific skills in mechanical and electrical maintenance, instrumentation, calibration, computers and networks, automotive mechanics and racing industry knowledge.

Technician will be cross-functional and expected to support all functions of the operation, including:

  • Test cell operation

  • Verification of vehicle instrumentation quality

  • Test vehicle installation in the test facility

  • Installation of test hardware on test articles

  • General test support activities Programming of automated test procedures using wind tunnel control software

  • Mechanical component assembly and maintenance activities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, AND /OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of two (2) years college courses in engineering, automotive, skilled trade or associated disciplines plus two (2) years relevant experience . Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience.

Required skills needed for this position include:

  • Vehicle mechanic: this position requires that the individual work on vehicle chassis set-up for wind tunnel testing, change tires, change shocks/struts, and install / remove any component on a vehicle. Individual must also have a thorough understanding of vehicle suspension, hydraulic systems, motors, mechanical screw devices, bearings and rotating equipment. Position requires precision level work with understanding of assemblies, mechanical fit and torque requirements.

  • Fabrication: individual must have a good working knowledge of machine shop tools for building / assembling fixtures / components. (t ools include lathe, mill, brake, shear, drill press and band-saw)

  • Maintenance : individual will support mechanical and / or electrical / instrumentation maintenance activities

  • Test Operations Controls and Data Acquisition: individual shall have working knowledge of instrumentation / controls / data acquisition enough to support wind tunnel operation and programming of test sequences (Lab View experience or equivalent is a plus).

  • Computer: proficient in word processing, spreadsheets and file system management is mandatory (additional capabilities in database programing and computer networking is a plus)

  • Teamwork: individual must be willing to work within a team and also take on leadership role in defined tasks

  • Troubleshooting: individual shall be skilled in systematic approach to problem identification and resolution.

Mission Statement

We provided field, range, testing, chemical, and biological laboratory support to the U.S. Army at the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) located at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), UT. As a major test site for the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, the WDTC is responsible for the test and evaluation of chemical and biological (CB) defense systems, incendiary and smoke/obscuration munitions systems, and related operational concepts.

In addition to these responsibilities, we also support non-CB testing at the WDTC for the DOD and other Federal agencies, including environmental assessment/impact evaluation and munitions demilitarization.

Our Dugway Operation was established in 2004 with the award of the Field, Range, Chamber, and Laboratory Support Services (FRC&LSS). Through the FRC&LSS contract, we have integrated with Mellor Engineering, TOPE, and JRAD with a composite staff size of more than 170 personnel.

Job Description

We are seeking a Field Technician to support the Dugway Proving Ground (DPG) contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Blocking off areas to a test site (road guard), escorting visitors to and from test sites, relocating vehicles to and from test sites, set up and tear down of test sites, equipment including reclamation.

Typical Duties:

Our Dugway Operation was established in 2004 with the award of the Field, Range, Chamber, and Laboratory Support Services (FRC&LSS) contract. Through the FRC&LSS contract, we have integrated with Mellor Engineering, TOPE, and JRAD with a composite staff size of more than 170 personnel.

Job Description

TOPE is looking for a candidate with experience and able to perform various types of tasks, including but not limited to:

Successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure that the buildings for the CTF are ready for Agent Operations

  • Verify that safety equipment is operational and maintained, to include emergency shower, fire extinguishers, ventilation systems.

  • Assist with design, setup, operation, and retrograde of various test fixtures used in testing Chemical Warfare Agents.

  • Conducted quarterly safety inspections with DPG Safety office.

  • Keep the building clean and test ready.

  • Maintain PPE, decon supplies, communication equipment used for testing, and keeping all mechanical equipment running and certified.

  • Know and understand the building control system.

  • Assist in receipt inspections test fixture setup and removal.

  • Be able to stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Show expertise in working with a team and independently.

  • Be able to maintain a medical surveillance.

  • Manage positive customer and employee relations.

  • Work all shifts flexibly when job demands.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • Safety awareness and have a thorough understanding of the Dugway Team Safety Program' i.e. Safe Plan of Action (SPA), Safety observation Reports (SOR), and other required guidelines.

Education and Experience:

  • At least five (5) years' experience in the calibration, operation, maintenance, fabrication, and repair of mechanical test equipment.

  • Must be familiar with building exhaust systems and as a minimum, be able to perform maintenance, including replacement of worn belts; greasing of bearings; repair of fans, blowers, and discharge stacks; and adjustment of volume dampers and hood baffles in test fixtures.

  • Fabrication/welding of test fixtures.

  • Desired to have experience with vibration systems and with cryogenic liquids, high pressure liquids, and oxygen displacing vapors (CO2 and N2).

  • Experience using various instrumentation such as temperature, relative humidity, air velocity, pH, conductivity, and particulate concentration.

Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

Medium- Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Work Environment:

Generally an outdoor environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Job Description

Must provide performance-oriented training using the TRADOC-approved Program of Instruction (POI). The full spectrum of training includes but is not limited to: classroom (platform and small group) training; hands-on/practical exercise training; role playing; simulation/virtual training; and field exercise training. Training may be for resident and non-resident training courses and in support of mobile training.

Shall also participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in developing revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans and Training Support Packages (TSPs) to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction. Conduct of instruction shall also be in support of specialized training requirements or the training of new systems.

REQUIRED

  • Have 6 years of MOS operational experience as a 35G or 350G, or equivalent specialty in another branch of service or other U.S. Government agency) conducting GEOINT operations in support of authorized intelligence activities as defined by AR 381-10 within the last ten years.

  • Have completed an advanced military course: BLC, ALC, SLC, WOBC, WOAC, MIOBC, or MICCC.

  • Have received an Honorable discharge from military service.

  • Experience working on the most recent automation tools and systems applicable to GEOINT operations.

  • Insruction and course development support for FMV exploitation, Imagery Derived Products (IDP), and Tactical Ground Station (TGS)

  • National imagery explotation, commercial or remote sensing exploitation, and/or Joint Surveillance Target Acquisition Radar System (J-STARS)

  • Moving Target Indicator (MTI) exploitation, cross-cueing operations between all GEOINT sensor types and FMV basic flight operations

  • Bachelor's Degree. Two years additional experience may be substituted, provided experience directly related to the positions description.

  • Minimum of an Interim TS or Final TS/SCI clearance required.

PREFERRED

  • Previously completed Common Faculty Development Program - Instructor Course (CFDP-IC) and Small Group Instructor Training Course (SGITC) or DOD/Service equivalent program certifications.

  • If instructor applicant does not possess these qualifications, the applicant must be able to pass the requisite USAICoE-provided courses on the first iteration of classes made available by the government and maintain such certifications throughout duration of employment.

  • Instructor Certification requirements as specified in TRADOC Regulation (TR) 350-70 and AETCI 36-2202 and as supplemented in local regulatory policies.

Provide operations support and reconstitution to ensure space capabilities, adding protection and resiliency to the space fleet. Perform responsive technical modeling and analysis of current and potential threat engagements to space systems. Perform tasks involving space flight safety, defensive space control, and intelligence analysis support for the sustainment of the space common operating picture.

JOURNEYMAN: A Journeyman labor category has 3 to 10 years of experience and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree. A Journeyman labor category typically performs all functional duties independently.

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $82,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
