The Position_______________________

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a dynamic, experienced Communications Manager to join our Change Management team. This role will partner closely with Corporate Communications to oversee strategy, planning, development, and communication delivery for one of our largest strategic programs impacting thousands of team members across the company. This person will be responsible for leading a small team of writers and designers who will develop and deliver change management communications to strategic program teams.

This person will report to the Director of Change Management and will be expected to quickly develop an understanding of our organizational structure and processes, particularly in the merchandising and supply chain area. The ideal candidate is comfortable having oversight of a newer team, capable of designing and developing communications for large strategic programs and has knowledge of change management and how to use effective communication to enable change.

Responsibilities____________________

  • Partner with the program change management team, corporate communications, and business teams to design program communication strategies that build awareness while effectively implementing key business initiatives.

  • Use your knowledge of change communication best practices to develop a multi-faceted change management communication program and partner with corporate communications to deliver to our team members across the company.

  • Develop compelling program messages

  • Own the execution and oversight of the change management communication strategy, including the visual branding of change management communications and provide insights into content design for project teams.

  • Create and manage a detailed change management communication plan and calendar for large strategic programs that engage the program teams in the right ways at the right times.

  • Develop materials that inform our leaders for key milestones and events and enable them to lead the change.

  • Manage a small team of writers and designers, providing regular coaching and guidance.

  • Help develop presentations and talking points for program townhalls and change champion meetings.

  • Conduct detailed reviews of all change management communication materials, ensuring consistency, clarity, and effectiveness.

Requirements____________________

  • 3+ years' experience in a communications role

  • 2+ years leading a team of writers and/or designers

  • Direct experience developing communications for large, complex transformational projects

  • Experience leading offshore employees preferred

  • Demonstrated understanding of writing and communication best practices

  • Understanding of change management and the connection between communication and change

Desired Characteristics

  • Direct experience working in decentralized organizations and in merchandising/supply chain

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, team-based environment with business partners / stakeholders across different levels and areas of responsibility

  • Highly adaptable, ability to handle uncertainty and ambiguous situations

What is a Salesperson?

Entry level sales position capable of supporting the DIY business and achieve our sales and service objectives. The role has good knowledge of store systems, basic automotive system knowledge and basic part knowledge. The role has the basic ability to source from stores, hubs, pdq, and external suppliers. The role has in-depth knowledge of the store inventory and maintenance processes. Position can be part time or full time. Fleet safety certification preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls

  • Achieve personal sales goal and help store achieve its sales goals

  • Provide DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.

  • Maintain store product and operational standards

  • Responsible for inventory processes including truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, Back stock, etc.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Store Cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot

  • General stocking including truck stocking and back stock

  • Safely deliver parts to customers as needed

Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Salesperson

  • Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with customers, peers and management

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals

  • Use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed

Prior Experience that Sets a Salesperson up for Success

  • 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a diverse retail environment, providing superior customer experiences

AnInventory Specialist works with and reports to the General Manager and is responsible for HUB operation while performing the following duties. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Pull and ship HUB orders on time.

  • If HUB order can't be filled, call servicing store before next HUB run explaining how to reorder.

  • Working with store management team, complete all parts department cycle counts including OUTS.

  • Work with store management team to complete all parts department plan-o-grams.

  • Work with store management team to stock all parts department parts.

  • Work with store management team to complete all parts department callbacks.

  • Work with store management team to complete MAXI changes in parts department.

  • Comply with all federal, state and local laws.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Complete all required training materials, attend all scheduled store meetings.

  • At General Manager's direction, train and develop Team Members to help assure the HUB is operated according to company policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate through General Manager the delivery of product, maintaining inventories, keeping operating records, or preparing daily record of transactions.

  • Help to ensure compliance of established security, customer service and record keeping policies and procedures.

Career DescriptionJob Description

The responsibilities of this role include the following:

  • Load product onto truck at the Distribution Center and prepares for delivery. May be required to use power equipment, such as a forklift or pallet jack, to load the truck.

  • Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicles, trailers, and cargo to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order, and to ensure that cargo is undamaged and all load-related documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition

  • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery. Inspect trailer to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport of product

  • Deliver product from the Distribution Center to the customers' location, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area.

  • Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises

  • Unload product from truck to customers' dock, inspecting cargo and completing required documentation.

  • Perform all job responsibilities in adherence with established Company driving policies and procedures. Remains compliant with Company, state and federal testing and licensing requirements, submitting proof as requested.

  • Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, and exceptions.

  • Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.

  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles as required per company policies.

The role has the responsibility to deliver parts to our commercial customers and assist with task and inventory processes in the store. Career DescriptionJob Description

The responsibilities of this role include the following:

  • Load product onto truck at the Distribution Center and prepares for delivery. May be required to use power equipment, such as a forklift or pallet jack, to load the truck.

  • Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicles, trailers, and cargo to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order, and to ensure that cargo is undamaged and all load-related documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition

  • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery. Inspect trailer to ensure product is secure for undamaged transport of product

  • Deliver product from the Distribution Center to the customers' location, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and roads in the area.

  • Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises

  • Unload product from truck to customers' dock, inspecting cargo and completing required documentation.

  • Perform all job responsibilities in adherence with established Company driving policies and procedures. Remains compliant with Company, state and federal testing and licensing requirements, submitting proof as requested.

  • Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, and exceptions.

  • Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.

  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles as required per company policies.

  • Perform all job responsibilities in adherence with established Company driving policies and procedures. Remains compliant with Company, state and federal testing and licensing requirements, submitting proof as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 25 years old

  • Clean driving record or Good MVR at least 3 years

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; minimum two year experience driving heavy box trucks or three years' experience driving tractor trailers required; Defensive Driver Training preferred; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • CDL license required - Class A

  • Haz-Mat endorsement
