We have an exciting opportunity to join our facilities team as a Project Manager focusing on design and development projects for new stores, primarily supporting our awesome Maple Street Biscuit Company.
This individual will oversee the development of test fits for all new store development. They will coordinate prototypical changes with Artchitects and Engineers. This individual will also manage special capital projects, perform drafting and architectural detailing as needed. Manage specifications for capital projects and new sites.
- Responsible for new store test fits. Works with Real Estate and city government to gather all pertinent information and specification requirements for potential new building sites. Develops preliminary schematic plans determining fit and layout of furniture/equipment into available space.
- Oversees the work of third party architectural/design firms and requirements for the construction document to go to permit
- Develops conceptual reflected ceiling plans and art/dcor design intent drawings. Prepares presentation material to communicate vision.
- Prototype evaluation and change implementation. Gathers information for proposed prototype changes through attending internal meetings with core teams. Evaluates and coordinates/implements prototype changes with Architect/engineer and core team. Incorporates latest prototype changes/addendums in blueprints/drawing.
- Manages assigned capital projects through permitting. Collaborates with third party vendors and stakeholders. Prepares design details and supporting documentation.
- Contract/Bid Management. Develops and maintains specifications for bidding purposes. Prepares bid packages for capital remodel projects.
- Researches potential building products and finishes. Maintains product library.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design or related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience as a project architect, project designer or project manager in the restaurant industry; or equivalent combination or education and experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Computer skills including Excel & PowerPoint.
- Strong AutoCAD skills.
- Strong knowledge of design principles and conceptual planning.
- Experience with architectural design rendering software (Revit, SketchUp, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication including negotiating skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and presents regular forecasts for Cracker Barrel, including advertising and media as well as the digital guest experience, culinary innovation and operations, menu strategy, communications, brand strategy and format innovation, pricing, reducing food costs through specification and sourcing changes and commodity inflation, and all aspects of the company's off-premise business. Must be adept at understanding complexities and interdependencies of information, high levels of anticipation, critical events, trends, and timely identification of risks & opportunities. Collaborates with various levels of management to acquire and develop reasonable, accurate projections of goals and key success drivers of short- and long-term sales & profitability.
- Serves as a critical strategic resource to the key functional areas of the organization. Manages and develops finance team supporting Marketing, Sourcing and Supply Chain functions and directs all levels of management to successfully execute company strategic decisions and determines prioritization with senior management. Develops and presents a course of action for exploring new business opportunities, increases levels of business acumen throughout the organization, and raises levels of anticipation and awareness. Also includes management and facilitation of various special projects on a regular basis.
- Responsible for innovative approaches and improvements to methodologies, procedures and systems related to financial planning, forecasting, analysis, investment modeling, reporting of key information for decision making and recommendations for similar improvements throughout the organization.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting or related field and 10 years restaurant financial analysis experience in a managerial position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certifications
- CPA or equivalent is helpful and or Master's Degree.

This individual will assist the Buyer by conducting vendor follow-up and item sales review. Sets-up new items and identifies shipping packs; ensures item is set up appropriately. They will assist Buyer in developing new items; calculates and determines initial order quantities. Also assist in coordinating and and resolving packaging issues, and tracks missing invoices or late payments. Negotiates return to vendor and follow-through.
Responsible for the vendor set-up process, including the Vendor Insurance program. Processes all new items to be entered in Retek Merchandise System. Creates purchase orders for approved items and verifies receipt of purchase orders. Ensures product integrity by scanning and approving barcodes prior to shipment. Maintains SKU file for accuracy. Responsible for cost and retail price changes. Ensures all model store samples are received by scheduled date. Assists in coordinating priority shipping of new product with the Distribution Center. Communicates shipping information with respect to potential delays, or problems with the shipment to the Merchandising Team.
Initiates sample requests from vendors. Orders and tracks samples for the model store. Approves pre-production samples. Communicates with vendors on product issues, both domestic and international. Communication with the Director of Visual Presentation, Director of Merchandise Product Development, Guest Relations, DC, and the vendor community regarding various issues including product samples, shipping, changes to original plans, and vendors.
Provides support to the Director of Merchandise, Sr. Buyer, Buyer, and Associate Buyer. Provides assistance to the VP/GMM as needed. Receives and answers calls, types and distributes letters, memos and other communications, faxes, files, copies, etc. Processes all requested samples and unsolicited merchandise; prepares incoming submittals for the Buyer's review; and drafts and sends correspondence letters and/or emails. Unpacks and sets up all product samples. Returns samples to vendor upon request.
Completes special projects and other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-3 years of merchandising experience in a retail setting.
