Clear evidence of formal training or job application of quality improvement techniques; Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, Lean training, or equivalent preferred.
Basic knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures related to quality and process improvement functions.
Demonstrates basic understanding of quality tools and methodologies.
Demonstrates previous project management experience.
Ability to manage by influence in a consultative role.
Working knowledge of basic business software such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Working knowledge of statistical analysis software such as Minitab preferred.
Strong facilitation skills.
High level of organizational skills to manage projects, timetables and implementations.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills necessary.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with little or no supervision.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The RN- Clinical Care Leader is responsible for developing and sustaining an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice and patient / family satisfaction, while striving for optimal efficiency and productivity of all resources. Works to coordinate daily clinical activities for assigned patient group.
Utilizes evidence-based practice to develop and implement standards of practice that guide practice improvement initiatives.

Works collaboratively with key professionals within the organization on human resources, performance improvement and fiscal management activities.

8B - PALS and APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider required. 8C - PALS and knowledge of telemetry required. 7C - PALS required. TCU - PALS required.
RN certification preferred.

The Security Officer II provides a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. In addition to Security Officer I duties, the role requires situational awareness, assessment and interventional skills. The role often entails responding to escalated situations with a focus on de-escalation to prevent injuries and preserve a healthy and safe environment. The Security Officer II works in collaboration with all clinical teams, specifically supporting the mental health programs to maintain a safe and therapeutic clinical environment. Responsible for Safe Car transport of patients being admitted in coordination with mental health clinicians.
Provides support to ensure a Safety Officer is present as needed for court proceedings.
Assists with patient admissions in a timely, organized and client-centered fashion.
Responsible for visitor management to include providing orientation, screening and badges for entrance.
Participates in debriefing of escalation events.
Assists with patient transitions as needed.

General Summary: The Mental Health Coach is responsible for establishing a therapeutic relationship with pediatric mental health clients, modeling pro-social and positive self-coping skills. Maintains a safe and regulatory compliant treatment setting and collaborates with patient and team stakeholders to ensure an effective treatment experience. May function in on-call capacity as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: Provision of clinical care- ? Provides evidence-based skills coaching, behavioral modification and direct observation to pediatric patients with mental health diagnoses. ? Implements and reinforces strategies included in patient's treatment or behavioral plan. Relays ineffective aspects of plan back to broader team for review and adjustment. ? Completes coping cards with each patient and encourages their use. ? Completes nursing tasks, as delegated by the RN, for medically involved clients. ? Maintains a collaborative and supportive stance with patients as a means of maintaining unit calm. ? Displays expertise in de-escalation cycle and educates patients and families daily on its use.
Crisis Management- ? Maintains consistent awareness of where each assigned patient is on de-escalation cycle; utilizes skills appropriate for observed de-escalation level. ? Adopts a collaborative and reflective stance with patients with the goal of de-escalation in mind. ? Provides emotional first aid and de-briefing to individual patients and groups after behavioral escalations.
Ensure safe and compliant treatment setting- ? Manages patient's room, unit environment and team schedule, ensuring consistent structure and a priority towards safety. ? Ensures work areas are organized, safe and ready for the next activity or shift. ? Maintains constant awareness of patient location and immediately alerts nurse to changes in mental status. ? Completes regular environmental assessment.
Admission/Registration/Greeter- ? Processes admissions in a timely, organized and client-centered fashion. ? Assures anyone entering the unit is free of contraband by encouraging use of assigned lockers. ? Provides updates to parent/guardian regarding patient condition and progress, information is linked to the plan of care; if unsure of boundaries consults with treatment team prior to sharing information. ? Greets families when they are present at point of access, provides guidance on way finding and unit rules.
Emergency Department ? Oversees Emergency Department mental health flow by acting as a liaison between, provider, charge nurse, bedside nurse, evaluating therapist, admission staff, parent and child. ? Provides evidence-based skills coaching, behavioral modification and direct observation to pediatric patients with mental health diagnoses Assistance in application of restraint, when deemed medically necessary and ordered by treating physician. ? Completes nursing tasks (Activities of Daily Living (ADL's), Vital Signs, nutrition, patient weights), as delegated by the RN, for medically involved clients. ? Maintains compliant and safe environment of care including stocking, setting up rooms for admission and general cleaning. ? Attends change of shift and unit level huddles. ? Provision of Clinical Care
Conducts clinical psychiatric evaluation to include eliciting for mental health symptoms, chronic illness, trauma, disability, as well as the primary support group, educational system, social environment, legal system, and other psychosocial and environmental problems.
Evaluates children and adolescents to risk for harm to self or others and triggers to such.
Develops a clinical treatment plan to address diagnoses and symptoms identified.
Provides evidenced based therapies to children with mental health diagnoses and, potentially, co-occurring acute or chronic illness, trauma, or disability using individual, family, and group modalities.
Submits psychiatric evaluation, progress notes and treatment plan based on established guidelines to meet regulatory and reimbursement requirements.
Integration of Clinical Care
Completes comprehensive report on all of the above for review by broader treatment team.
Obtains outcome measures, through use of psychometric tools, shares data on patient progress with collaborating care providers, and tracks clinical trends.
Leads coordination efforts with patients medical care providers in order to ensure seamless integration of medical and mental health care.
Participates in integrated care teams.
Facilitates transitions along the continuum of care as needed as well as referrals to community-based resources, when needed.

The Mental Health Site Supervisor (LCSW or LPC) provides evidenced-based treatment and evaluation to children and families. Serves as a resource to on-site mental health staff regarding skill demonstration, promotion of knowledge, and communication with leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provision of Clinical Care
Conducts mental health evaluations, participates in treatment planning including safety, and provides evidenced based therapies to children with mental health conditions and, potentially, co-occurring acute or chronic illness, trauma, or disability.
Ensures comprehensive assessment and recommended treatment plan is submitted for reimbursement to third party insurance payer sources based on established guidelines.
Obtains outcome measures, when necessary, using psychometric tools; shares data on patient progress with collaborating physicians and tracks clinical trends.
Acts as an advocate and mental health educator to the child's primary support group, to include the child's primary care and specialty doctor, parental unit, educational system, legal system, and other parties invested in child's care.
Oversight of Clinical Staff
Ensures that the site is safe, clean, and maintained in accordance with company policies; ensures that all site staff follow charting procedures and regulatory requirements, and that all staff assigned to the site act as a cohesive team.
Assists in orientation and training of clinicians new to the mental health program on work expectations, our commitment to professionalism, and adherence to the mission of CHKD's Mental Health Service Line.
Conducts mock chart audits in accordance with DMAS and Medicaid regulations, when needed.
Generates site-specific systems and processes to improve quality of service, employee, and patient satisfaction.
Oversees clinicians new to the mental health program to ensure accurate diagnoses, mission driven treatment and safety plans, and fidelity to evidence based clinical modalities.
Collaborates with program manager to problem solve staff concerns, support staff development, and provide feedback regarding clinical professional growth as needed.
May have direct reports and perform employee evaluations.
Assists management with scheduling and coverage as needed.
Provides conflict resolution with patients, families, providers, and outside agencies.
Responds to all APT and Behavior Events and supporting clinical needs of the patient/family during event.
Provides clinical supervision as a board-approved supervisor to team members as necessary; signs off on all clinical documentation by supervisees.
Participates in the disciplinary process with management as directed.
