GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider (APP), the Athletic Trainer manages the needs of the patient within a clinic setting and provides athletic training intervention by reviewing, revising, and implementing techniques or discharging athletic training services as deemed appropriate. Practices according to the NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification) standards of professional practice and complies with all the legal requirements regulating the practice of athletic training. Reports to department leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs appropriate patient intake to determine medical history, chief complaint and risk factors.
Performs physical examinations to establish a diagnosis and prognosis prior to intervention; communicates all pertinent information to the physician, APP, parent, physical therapist, school athletic trainer, and/or other staff as appropriate.
Develops and implements injury and illness prevention strategies for athletes and the physically active.
Establishes a plan of care for athletes in consultation with the supervising physician/advanced practice provider.
Manages the needs of the patient based on the examination, diagnosis, prognosis, goals and outcomes of the planned interventions for identified impairments.
Applies splints, braces or casts as appropriate, assesses for proper fit and support, and educates patient/parent on appropriate wear, care, and signs/symptoms of concern.
Maintains clinic flow by directing support staff to ensure patient/ parent satisfaction, patient safety, quality of care and efficiency of clinic operations.
Educates students and parents regarding injury/disease management including, but not limited to, use of assistive devices, use of splints/braces, exercise/activity recommendations/limitations, healthy lifestyle behaviors and proper nutrition for the physically active.
Assists administrative staff as needed (diagnostic scheduling, rescheduling of patients, surgery scheduling, etc).
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Certification by BOC and licensed to practice as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Virginia. Licensure, certification and/or registration with National Athletic Trainers Association Certification.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or an accredited educational program by the NATA-BOC.
Master's Degree preferred.
Previous experience in health care setting preferred.
Knowledge and experience in the administration of a variety of assessment tools, treatment plans and equipment.
Knowledge of athletic training treatment and modalities.
CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
Valid driver's license required for travel to various satellite locations in the immediate area

Develops, implements, and maintains general, office, department and administrative information and data to enhance coordination of Executive / Director(s) and department functions.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date documents for ease of access and retrieval.

Answers phones, screens and refers calls.
Plans and implements Annual Pediatrics At The Zoo event.
Maintains administrative support for Tidewater Pediatrics.
Provides assistance in planning and implementing Departmental Monthly and Annual CME Conferences (such as Pediatric Grand Rounds and The Don Lewis Pediatric Update Conference).
Develops and maintains monthly departmental newsletters.
Works with EVMS Faculty Affairs to onboard all new faculty with regard to initial appointments and with all faculty undergoing academic promotion.
Arranges meeting rooms and luncheons for all Monthly Faculty Meetings.
Records meetings for all Faculty and Executive Committee (and subcommittee) meetings as needed.

Responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation, submission and data retrieval for billing processes with computerized and/or paper systems. Reports to Practice Manager/Billing Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors billing processes, accounts receivable, collections, data entry and assures accurate, timely and compliant coding and submissions.
Assists with and processes billing inquiries.
Acts as a liaison for the practice and between subsidiaries, affiliates, finance, insurance, patient and other issues surrounding billing processes.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting the RN and surgeon during operative procedures. The Surgical Technician assists with cases of various degrees of complexity. This role may require flexibility to staff-share to other locations when necessary. Reports to the Surgery Center Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Arranges and inventories sterile set up utilizing knowledge of asepsis and sterilization techniques.
Assists in preparing and moving of patients, cleaning and room set up.
Provides a safe and efficient environment for the surgical patient under the direction of the registered nurse within a defined scope of practice.
Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Certification in operating room technology through the National Association of Operating Room Technicians preferred.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Basic knowledge to perform arithmetic calculations when maintaining record of charges normally acquired through completion of high school.
Graduation from an accredited school of operating room technology, a school of practical nursing or equivalent program required. Will consider equivalent combination of education (minimum of a high school diploma or GED) and directly related work experience.
Approximately three to six months of related experience, preferred, in order to learn sterile techniques, become familiar with anesthesia equipment and cleaning procedures, and learn inventory techniques.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with the surgical team and maintain effective contacts with physicians and hospital employees.
Familiarity and manual dexterity required with all basic surgical instruments, supplies, equipment and procedures.
Basic analytical skills necessary to develop solutions to problems concerning technical needs of surgery.
Ability to prepare list of pack contents following preparation and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in cleaning and decontaminating patient care equipment.
Ability to follow equipment cleaning instructions, maintain logs and records of inventory levels and items used, and to perform noncomplex arithmetic calculations in order to prepare cleaning solutions.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when conducting procedures and operating special computer software.
BLS-HCP Certification required and/or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Surgical areas work environment with frequent exposure to unpleasant odors from disinfectant solutions/chemicals. Possible exposure to infectious agents when handling instruments or hazardous materials. Potential for personal harm or injury is reduced when proper safety and health precautions are followed.

Interfaces with managed care organizations, external reviewers and other payers to ensure that the admission and continued stay are in compliance with CMS standards.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
RN holding a current Virginia state license or valid Compact State license or Medical Social Worker (MSW).

Professional knowledge of area of responsibility in order to direct planning and implementation of individualized service plan for eligible children with special health care needs to include medical care, social, developmental, educational, vocational and financial aspects.

Will consider a qualified individual with a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 5 years of utilization review, case management and discharge planning experience in pediatrics.
One to three years case management/ care coordination experience preferred.

Must possess the ability to identify problems and implement solutions for operational and organizational issues.

GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision, Coder II is responsible for the collection of relevant, pertinent, accurate and timely profile data configured and/or abstracted from the medical / surgical office based clinic record. This includes effective use of relevant coding systems as well as recognizing what data can be abstracted, presented and interpreted for effective use throughout the network. Assures accurate, timely and compliant coding and data entry. Reports to department management as well as individual practice management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Uses established coding guidelines to ensure accurate coding for each patient record.
Ensures all records are coded within established productivity and accuracy standards.
Communicates with practice and medical / surgical staff to ensure accurate patient data is collected, compiled and/or interpreted.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Certified Professional Coder certification (CCS-P/CPC/COC/CPEDC) required and maintained from a nationally recognized organization.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
ICD-10 CM proficiency attestation required.
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT procedure codes, ICD-9 CM, ICD-10 CM diagnoses codes, HCPCS codes, required.
Knowledge of third party payer insurance and billing guidelines and ability to use various coding methodologies to code clinical diagnoses and procedures.
Ability to relate well with consumers, companies and multiple departments.
Ability to effectively gather and exchange information in both oral and written communications and good computer and bookkeeping skills.
Medical / surgical office based coding experience to include, but not limited to: diagnosis and surgical diagnoses, E&M leveling and proper assignment of modifiers.

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Medical Social Worker is responsible for assisting patients with biopsychosocial problems resulting from acute or chronic illness, disability and/or trauma. The Medical Social Worker completes comprehensive assessment with patients and/or caregivers to obtain psychosocial history and develop individualized treatment plan. Provides support, resources, and case management services. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to implement treatment plan and provides follow up as necessary. Functions in an on-call capacity as necessary to meet the needs of the department and organization. Reports to the Mental Health Therapy Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Case management functions--
Assesses the biopsychosocial needs, including emotional, social, environmental and financial needs, of the patient and caregiver(s), as well as the limitations or strengths of current available resources.
Collaborates with patient, caregiver(s) and interdisciplinary medical team to develop a service plan that identifies goals, priorities and strategies.
Monitors patient and caregiver(s) receipt of services in order to reassess change of needs, as well as to ensure appropriate, sufficient and timely services are being provided.
Documents, as appropriate, in medical record.
Coordinates patient care conference, as appropriate, regarding biopsychosocial and case management issues.
Promotes Family Centered Care.
Provision of therapeutic support--
Establishes therapeutic relationships with patient and caregiver(s).
Provides counseling and mental health clinical interventions to the patient and/or caregiver, under the supervision of a licensed clinician.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related licensed eligible field.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must have an Associates in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience, however a BSN is preferred. If hired with an ADN, the candidate must complete a BSN program within three years from their date of hire.
Minimum of one year of experience in a psychiatric inpatient or emergency room setting required.
Experience in both pediatric medical and psychiatric settings preferred.
Pediatric experience preferred.

The Physician Billing Representative provides prompt and efficient operations of billing processes. Responsible for accurate and timely data collection, documentation, submission and data retrieval for billing processes with computerized and/or paper systems. Reports to Practice Manager/Billing Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors billing processes, accounts receivable, collections, data entry and assures accurate, timely and compliant coding and submissions.
Assists with and processes billing inquiries.
Acts as a liaison for the practice and between subsidiaries, affiliates, finance, insurance, patient and other issues surrounding billing processes.
