Education & Experience
Required- Associate's Degree or equivalent from a Technical / Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and two (2) years min related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required- Universal CFC card (exception made for entry level technicians)
Preferred- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and electrical schematics

This position may require the incumbent to work at healthcare facilities, K-12 and higher educational facilities, military installations, industrial facilities, and/or commercial office buildings.
A Day in the Life:
With safety being top priority, service technician will be responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining equipment including: HVAC equipment, building control system, systems involving electric and pneumatic air flow, water flow, gas/electric heating and cooling equipment, boilers, valves, apparatus and lines used in the distribution of heated, chilled or processed water, building automation system, variable frequency drive units, and computerized Maintenance Management System.
Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products.
Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
Represents the company by serving as a direct customer contact.
Assists in ordering parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need
Documents work electronically on each job daily, to include progress, duration; and maintaining files and reports submitting in a timely manner.
Records parts, material, labor, subs and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.
Read and interpret product specifications and have experience in working with building specifications, drawings and designs.
Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary.

Primary Role
To provide Damuth's 5-Star Experience to internal and external customers by developing new Client relationships and strengthening the existing client base to ensure maximum account penetration and client retention. To sell and promote the products and services of Trane HVAC Parts and Supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: *Other duties may be assigned.
Function as a sales representative and liaison between clients and the office.
Visit and support client accounts.
Perform analysis on client needs and uses.
Ascertain current market opportunities.
Focus on increasing sales to existing assigned accounts.
Look for new accounts.
Establish systematic client contact to provide ongoing information.
Review and provide feedback on client support programs (i.e. Comfortsite).
Identify client problems and/or needs and recommend solutions.
Research and provide competitive parts sales data to parts leadership.
Maintain client data files.
Create and maintain territorial listing noting classification of customer and frequency of calls (Microsoft Outlook).
Attend sales meetings and report sales activity, account development, and upcoming itinerary.
Maintain records of quotas, sales, customer information, and requests by updating data with Parts Leader.
Possess knowledge of Trane and other product lines to be able to demonstrate and discuss with clients.
Provide backup support for inside sales.
Make new product presentations and sales presentations.
Achieve monthly and yearly sales and gross margin goals.
Develop and demonstrate use of client action plan to identify the long term, mutual support requirements for a strong and profitable partnership.
Develop relationships with more than one key player in each account.
Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
Regular travel requirements with some overnight travel
Qualifications

A Day in the Life:
With safety being top priority, service technician will be responsible for operating, repairing, and maintaining equipment including: HVAC equipment, building control system, systems involving electric and pneumatic air flow, water flow, gas/electric heating and cooling equipment, boilers, valves, apparatus and lines used in the distribution of heated, chilled or processed water, building automation system, variable frequency drive units, and computerized Maintenance Management System.
Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products.
Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
Represents the company by serving as a direct customer contact.
Assists in ordering parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need
Documents work electronically on each job daily, to include progress, duration; and maintaining files and reports submitting in a timely manner.
Records parts, material, labor, subs and other cost data per assignment and returns unused resources.
Read and interpret product specifications and have experience in working with building specifications, drawings and designs.
Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary.

Learning and deploying the Sandler Sales Process in territory growth
Documents each sales opportunity using the Sandler Submarine in CRM
Focused on the sale of Service Agreements & BAS
Facilitate the Service Agreement Renewal process
Communicate regularly with Service Team Leaders.
Perform a daily review of the Service Call report to determine if there are any follow up actions or opportunities.
Qualify any new unassigned opportunities in CRM.
Work with Account Managers on any new opportunities and assist when help is needed to track down equipment information.
Assist with backup for other team members.
Work with Sales Leaders on multiple teams as needed when qualifying unassigned owner projects with Damuth Trane clients (Goal: minimize channel conflict).
Enter sales leads into CRM that are generated through your actions (core accounts or no one assigned)

Normal Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
This position is for a dynamic 4-year program of full time HVAC work plus classroom training. The Apprentice shall be a full-time associate of Damuth Trane, with a minimum program requirement of 35 hours per week. Additionally, the Apprentice will be required to enroll in an approved HVAC/R program comprised of a 4-year, one class per semester, approved HVAC course.
From day one the Apprentice will be a fulltime Damuth associate; this means the apprentice is paid while getting on the job training. This is an excellent way to jump-start your career in HVAC without the cost or debt associated with many trade schools and you become an employee on day one of the program. This eliminates the risk of paying for training and then having to find employment in the trade. At the conclusion of the program, the associate will be ready to sit for their Journeyman's Test for the State of Virginia.
All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check and must have a clean driving record. Typical projects include service, maintenance, and retrofitting services for rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, chillers, cooling towers, commercial boilers, pneumatic and electrical control systems. What we're looking for:

Communication - External: Provide client/customer email with startup date and our requirements, equipment check sheets, forms required by law or our vendors/manufacturers (ASHRAE)
Communication - Internal: Email startup notification to Sales Engineer, Project Coordinator, Marketing Team Leader, Account Manager, Account Coordinator, Resource Coordinator, Area Service Team Leader, BAS Associates (if applicable), Center of Excellence, Clint Damuth, Service Business Process Leader, Service Operations Team Leader
Startup package to be provided for the Service Technician performing startup via e-mail. Startup package provided on our team site under the startup name. Include any pertinent internal documentation that would be beneficial to the Technician.
Proof all vendor purchase orders to ensure they have been entered/matched by Finance
Invoice upon startup completion
Prepare a warranty letter upon completion of startup and provide to the client, upon request. Letter to contain model/serial numbers, startup date and warranty end date. Email warranty letter to System Solutions Sales Engineer, Project Coordinator and customer/client in a timely manner.
Prepare and distribute training manuals (to consist of IOMs, submittals, etc.), as needed.
Warranty Management
Enter equipment (based on startup log) and warranty information (based on submittal) by piece of equipment in designated fields in Key2Act
Send ancillary equipment start up logs to the appropriate vendor to activate the warranty period, if applicable. (i.e. ABB, Data Aire, etc.)
Work with ancillary vendors for warranty coverage when failures occur within the vendors warranty period.
Distribute to field technicians' updates to ancillary equipment warranty processes, as needed.
Communicating with technicians and Trane Parts Center associates to verify WCR's (warranty credit request) are submitted, parts have been returned and credits have been issued.
Obtain approvals (i.e. email pre-approvals), if needed, from the technician or STL and Doclink to the service call.
Review of daily service call report for potential warranty calls setup incorrectly to service warranty, TM, or to the client contract. Make changes and notify technician/resource coordinator.
Verify submittal warranty and warranty listed in WMS match and are accurate.
SPD/Extended Warranty/Concession Claims
Process labor/warranty claims entry in WMS (warranty management system and/or Falcon) and invoicing weekly through the Key2Act system.
Review billing journal on a weekly basis for completed SPD, ESW and VW warranty type calls
Review field reports to verify SPD/warranty, model and serial numbers and problem description
Validate technician time posted in the call matches the time indicated in the field report prior to claim filing.

Manage acquisition of fleet assets including supply chain evaluation, developing replacement strategy to achieve most economical vehicle life, and communication with all parties/vendors (external & internal) involved.
Manage disposal of fleet assets to achieve maximum return on investment, ensure removal of vehicle from insurance coverage; notifications to state & local agencies (DMV & local tax department); follow up for eligible reimbursements/refunds.
Coordinate vehicle assignments/deployments & items needed for new hires & vehicle changes.
Maintain & update fleet procedures as needed; develop fleet/vehicle training content & distribute to associates/post in company resource locations.
Ensure vehicle documentation is renewed (i.e., DMV registrations, insurance, etc.) and distribute to associates as needed.
Set up new vehicles in appropriate databases/systems (i.e., Fleet Maintenance vendor, WEX Fuel program, EZ Pass, etc.)
Coordinate vehicle changes/transfers/departures, including updating internal databases/systems, vehicle numbering changes, updating vendor databases & communicate changes to internal team.
Inspect/assess vehicles (including those returned by departed associates/resulting from position changes) to assess mechanical condition and cleanliness meet Damuth standards. Ensure vehicles are cleaned/ready for re-deployment.
Monitor/manage & assist as needed with Damuth vehicle appearance requirements for items i.e., graphics & hub caps; order hub caps for drivers as needed. Periodic review of virtual inspections submitted via FormsPro.
Review fleet maintenance vendor requests for repair authorization; review & approve monthly invoices for repairs.
Assist drivers as needed with items such as glass repairs & unusual maintenance situations/requests.
Review & approve monthly fleet fuel invoices
Review, code & approve vehicle tax bills as needed.
Monitor vehicles overdue for maintenance to ensure driver compliance with Damuth maintenance requirements.
Manage spare fleet & track/assign required maintenance i.e., State inspections, oil changes, etc.
Manage/monitor vehicle recalls (distribute to drivers & follow up to ensure necessary follow up & completion by driver).
Manage/maintain GPS database to ensure vehicles, drivers & locations are current.
Create and maintain reports and metrics as needed by leadership to evaluate fleet driving trends.
Maintain Fleet Policy & points program, in conjunction with HR.
Manage vehicle accident claims, including obtaining required information to report claim to insurance carrier, repairs completed, and monitor claim status.
Manage compliance of Subcontractors
Distribute qualification packages, receive completed packages, review and document gaps in submissions for all subcontractor packages.
Communicate with subcontractors and project teams regarding the status of documentation required and open issues with documentation submitted for review.
Obtain an understanding of subcontractor scope to help evaluate manage risk.
Ensure Subcontractor status is current and up to date.
Review Certificate of Insurance submitted by Subcontractors.
Manage Subcontractors COI's.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Required - High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred - BA/BS in business field or other related degree
Preferred - Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; including experience managing fleet programs, regular vehicle maintenance requirements, inventory methods and procedures.
Required - Proficiency in MS Office software applications, specifically Word and Excel

A Day in the Life:
Provide Damuth's 5-Star Experience to internal and external customers. Our commitment is to have our clients feel understood, respected, valued, impressed and championed during every interaction. This position will require you to program, commission, diagnose, and repair BAS control systems. You will utilize knowledge of electronics, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory and control techniques. Interpret control drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate installation, assembly, testing, and programming of controls systems.
Assist all other BAS Project Technicians with tasks as requested.
Actively participate in training programs to improve technical knowledge and maintain current technical proficiency as new controllers are introduced.
Update as-built drawings for the engineering group as required.
Complete assigned work in time prescribed and in accordance with established standards.
Consistently execute assigned projects within budgeted time, providing documentation as necessary
Execute SPD and warranty repairs completing all required documentation as requested.
Maintain assigned stock of inventory, company equipment, and document all related activities.
Support the execution of SPD and warranty repairs as requested.
Coordinate activities on projects as assigned using appropriate methods and established standards for communication.
Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files as required.
Record parts, material, labor, and other cost data per assignment and return unused resources.
Regular travel requirements with occasional overnight stays. (2 %)

Responsible for sharing learning gained by attendance in offsite training classes Damuth associates who can benefit from the learning. This should be in presentation format and delivered within two weeks of returning from any training class.
Education & Experience

Technical Knowledge Requirements
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.

Startup call to include quote for startup services, equipment list, field reports, startup logs, e-mail communications, billing information and warranty certificate.
Ensure that client invoices are processed accurately, and all special instructions are followed
Startup Management:
Scheduling: To be accomplished through coordination with Resource Coordinators and Service Team Leaders, as required
Communication - External: Provide client/customer email with startup date and our requirements, equipment check sheets, forms required by law or our vendors/manufacturers (ASHRAE)
Communication - Internal: Email startup notification to Sales Engineer, Project Coordinator, Marketing Team Leader, Account Manager, Account Coordinator, Resource Coordinator, Area Service Team Leader, BAS Associates (if applicable), Center of Excellence, Clint Damuth, Service Business Process Leader, Service Operations Team Leader
Startup package to be provided for the Service Technician performing startup via e-mail. Startup package provided on our team site under the startup name. Include any pertinent internal documentation that would be beneficial to the Technician.
Proof all vendor purchase orders to ensure they have been entered/matched by Finance
Invoice upon startup completion
Prepare a warranty letter upon completion of startup and provide to the client, upon request. Letter to contain model/serial numbers, startup date and warranty end date. Email warranty letter to System Solutions Sales Engineer, Project Coordinator and customer/client in a timely manner.
Prepare and distribute training manuals (to consist of IOMs, submittals, etc.), as needed.
Warranty Management
Enter equipment (based on startup log) and warranty information (based on submittal) by piece of equipment in designated fields in Key2Act
Send ancillary equipment start up logs to the appropriate vendor to activate the warranty period, if applicable. (i.e. ABB, Data Aire, etc.)
Work with ancillary vendors for warranty coverage when failures occur within the vendors warranty period.
Distribute to field technicians' updates to ancillary equipment warranty processes, as needed.
Communicating with technicians and Trane Parts Center associates to verify WCR's (warranty credit request) are submitted, parts have been returned and credits have been issued.
Obtain approvals (i.e. email pre-approvals), if needed, from the technician or STL and Doclink to the service call.
Review of daily service call report for potential warranty calls setup incorrectly to service warranty, TM, or to the client contract. Make changes and notify technician/resource coordinator.
Verify submittal warranty and warranty listed in WMS match and are accurate.
SPD/Extended Warranty/Concession Claims
Process labor/warranty claims entry in WMS (warranty management system and/or Falcon) and invoicing weekly through the Key2Act system.
Review billing journal on a weekly basis for completed SPD, ESW and VW warranty type calls
Review field reports to verify SPD/warranty, model and serial numbers and problem description
Validate technician time posted in the call matches the time indicated in the field report prior to claim filing.
Verify that all vendor invoices have zero totals and if not, research their validity (possible parts not covered under warranty should be entered with the Trane claim.) Request credits on warranty items billed against call. File claims with Trane. Track Trane claims for status approval and amount approved and paid. Invoice when claim has been paid by Trane so there is a reflection in Accounts Receivable for all claims filed
Backup for Resource Coordination
Coordinate and schedule all service work for maintenance, quoted work, time and material, warranty, start-ups, emergency calls, training, meetings, on-call and any other-directed activities.
Ensure that all calls are properly entered in the dispatch software system
Ensure all field schedules are updated and properly maintained.
Ensure proper information is obtained and entered for all service calls.
Provide oversight for procurement of needed materials and supplies.
Provide proactive follow up with customers, service technicians and interoffice to ensue outstanding issues are resolved and all commitments and expectations are met or exceeded.
Work with internal associates to resolve issues / problems in the field and helps provide solutions to improve on-going procedures.
Approve and process payroll for Service Technicians.

Primary Role
Provide support to internal and external customers through remote connectivity, diagnostics and digital service of BAS systems and Service Agreements. Review, prioritize and facilitate service responses to open alarm notifications for Active Monitoring agreements. Provide BAS Service Agreement clients with -help desk- support (help clients navigate their control systems for schedules and setpoint changes, password management, etc.). Provide remote BAS support for Damuth Service Technicians. Perform operation inspections and quarterly maintenance on remote service agreement customers. The ideal candidate will be experienced in HVAC equipment systems (to include Chilled Water Systems, Unitary and Airside systems), Trane Building Automation Systems, DDC controls, operation and service delivery. The BAS RSS provides building systems expertise to both internal and external customers via remote connectivity with the goal of a faster response time, enhanced customer experience, without the added cost or delay of a -truck roll-. When a need for an on-site technician is identified, the BAS RSS shall provide a remote hand-off to the dispatched or assigned technician.
