GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs routine clerical duties associated with recruiting employees for the distribution center. Maintains files and records pertaining to employees.

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs HRIS functions for all hourly employees; may run reports from HRIS.

  • Maintains applicant data, records, and acknowledgement; prepares new hire paperwork.

  • Coordinates and maintains confidential personnel records.

  • Answers general human resource questions and inquiries regarding benefits, compensation, recruiting, and employee relations.

  • Processes applications, schedules interviews, assists with background checks and checks references.

  • Assists with reference checks, background checks, and random drug testing.

  • May log and process department bills and invoices.

  • Assists with new employee orientations.

  • Maintains accident reports, and workers compensation paperwork, and OSHA Logs

  • Maintains job postings.

  • May assist with fitness center registration.

  • Receives and distributes incoming department mail.

  • Maintains office supplies.

  • May act as primary backup to Switchboard Operator.

  • May order flowers, birthday cakes, etc. for distribution center employees.

  • May maintain and distribute staffing report for distribution center.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures and practices; familiarity with distribution center positions.

  • Intermediate computer skills; ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and payroll systems such as Lawson and KRONOS.

  • Detail oriented.

WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exposure to changing climatic conditions and extreme heat and cold.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Store Manager Candidate supports the Store Manager in the effective implementation of all store processes including employee supervision, staffing, inventory management, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs. This position is utilized to foster interactive development of an external candidate for the Store Manager role and is to be held for a limited period.

DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.

  • Assist with store merchandising by facilitating and/or participating in staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; ensuring that merchandise is presented according to established practices and store manager direction; and properly utilizing merchandise fixtures, signing and pricing of merchandise.

  • Assist in all aspects of inventory management (including proper execution of damages, markdowns, register scanning, paperwork and facility controls); prepare and conduct inventories.

  • Follow prescribed ordering practices to ensure the meeting or exceeding of in-stock targets.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Primary execution leader for international logistics operations across the network of Dollar General freight forwarders, ocean carriers, ports, import centers, and key service providers. Responsible for implementing carrier and service provider strategies, managing international logistics procurement activity, standardizing process and procedures for international logistics operations, leading international freight pay and audit activity as well as financial reporting and ensuring on-time customer delivery and accuracy in reporting. Manages staff responsible for operational execution, management of outsourced service providers, reporting, analytics and freight pay activity.

DC Network Design & Transportation Optimization

o Direct all analysis and modeling efforts designed to select future DC sites and conduct pro forma analysis around new distribution concepts

o Communicate all analysis and make presentations to senior leadership reflecting 5-year DC opening strategy

o Ensure complete and accurate detailed analytics on all projects

o Resolve issues and make decisions weekly related to DC workload balancing, scheduling of restricted stores to minimize cost and service impact, and ensuring optimal backhaul assignment

Transportation Financial Analytics & Management

o Direct team in producing and publishing all financial reports for department

o Review and approve month end financial accrual, analysis, and reports

o Lead team in all budgeting and forecasting efforts

o Lead efforts to conduct ad-hoc analysis to explain variances to plan

o Be primary expert in fuel pricing, projections, and industry models

Transportation Systems Management

o Manage the development, maintenance, and implementation of all transportation systems

o Responsible for system parameter testing to ensure optimal solutions for the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other major software suites

o Liaison to IT and principal project manager for all systems development and modification

o Works with IT and 3rd party software providers to develop enhancements and solutions to better support transportation operations

o Be educated on and evaluate potential off-the-shelf applications

Landed Cost Analytics

o Lead team in analyzing cost components from initial purchase cost to store-door delivery for optimal profit margins

o Educates merchandising and supply chain on all components of supply chain and alternative flows

o Proactively identifies and initiates analysis through targeted selection, changes in sourcing, or market condition changes

o Works with procurement team during auction or bid events to support both initial event work and post-bid conclusion

Team development and performance management:

o Responsible for the professional development to include training, coaching, and work assignment designed to promote team and individual growth

o Hire, manage and conduct performance and development reviews

o Manage workload and assist with issues across the HR spectrum

Deep working and technical knowledge of transportation management systems designed for problem solving, daily optimization, and strategic optimization solutions

Broad general working knowledge of Logistics operations and concepts in a complex, large-scale operating environment

Extensive knowledge and operating capability in Microsoft Excel and Access

Strong financial analytical and budgetary skills

Strong ability to analyze and decipher significant amounts of data to develop insightful reports and conclusions for the business

Deep desire to obtain knowledge, take initiative, and ask questions to drive improvement

Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written form to senior levels

Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting, finance, and accrual principles

Broad experience in project management work both as a leader and supporter

Ability to manage others, train and develop personnel, and lead people

Ability to build key relationships with internal and external business partners

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and apply time management skills

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or related field required. Requires a minimum of 4-6 years relevant work experience with at least 3 years operating in a large scale operations environment and/or management role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
