General Summary
The Customs Compliance Senior Analyst classifies import product within the United States Harmonized Tariff Schedule framework. They will work with the Customs Compliance Manager and Customs and Ethical Compliance Manager to ensure Dollar General is in full compliance with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, as well as partner government agency (PGA) regulations relevant to U.S. imports.
To do so, they will review all import quote sheets for any import requirements, ensuring that the correct duty is assigned for landed cost calculation purposes and duty to Customs is paid correctly. Additionally, they will ensure that product meets all the import requirements set out by partner government agencies; such as, the Food and Drug Administration, Fish and Wildlife, the United States Department of Agriculture, and others.
Duties/Responsibilities
Customs Classification
Classify import product and quote sheet approval for the department
Process import quote sheets to determine classification for import items
Assign duty rates for import product
Country of Origin determination
Review for antidumping and countervailing duties
Review for applicability of Free Trade Agreements
Review for Intellectual Property Rights
Set business rules to ensure orders do not ship until all requirements are met
Maintain parts database
Communicate with overseas office and vendors to obtain product information for classification and documentation
E-bid and Pre-Quote Review
Assist the procurement team in obtaining the correct landed cost of items by providing the duty rate for items included in vendor bids
Review domestic programs for Global Sourcing to help identify categories to shift to import
Review for Partner Government Agency Requirements
Ensure all products meet the import requirements set by partner government agencies; such as, the Food and Drug Administration, Fish and Wildlife, the United States Department of Agriculture, and others.
File for import permits, when required
CBP/PGA
Interact with CBP/PGA personnel as necessary on transactional matters
Submit binding rulings to CBP as needed for guidance on classification
Work with CBP on Requests for Information dealing with classification matters
Partner with Merchants and Sourcing teams with recommendations on duty reductions and cost savings opportunities
Maintain and update standard operating procedures related to all classification processes
Partner with Broker to obtain documents and/or information needed for customs clearance
Perform other related duties as assigned or as situation dictates

General Summary:
Obtains all business licenses required to operate and offer a full product line to customers for both new store openings and relocations. These licenses include general business licenses based on gross receipts and inventory, beer and wine licenses, tobacco licenses, health permits, and other licenses as required. Researches, prepares, files, processes, and remits appropriate applications and payments to comply with the rules and regulations as prescribed in each jurisdiction for new licenses. Assists in maintaining various licensing and property tax databases. Conducts extensive tracking of project completion through specialized spreadsheets with respect to new store research and expected license dates. Reviews and redacts leases as required as part various specialized and regulated product applications. Prepares, reviews, and remits applications to include personal information of officers and field personnel where appropriate. Partners with field leadership and other SSC partners, vendors, and licensing officials to facilitate the competition of all store and manager level requirements related to selling alcohol and tobacco products. Partners with field leadership and SSC partners to transfer existing alcohol and tobacco to new locations during the relocation process. Responsibilities:
Researching, coordinating, preparing, processing, and remitting assigned license applications and payments to the appropriate jurisdictions.
Reviewing license renewals and tax payments for accuracy including any changes made based on historical and/or third party data.
Collaborating with the appropriate teams to gather sensitive information such as fingerprints, background checks, Officer and Field PII, redacting leases, site surveys, and coordinating hearing with field leadership and attorneys.
Coordinating regularly with third party legal counsel to obtain new licenses and work through issues.
Partners with Operations, Merchandising, Store Facilities Maintenance, company officers, and Landlords where needed to obtain relevant information related to obtaining licenses and working with the field and jurisdictions to schedule and resolve any outstanding licensing requirements. This may include inspections, background checks, disclosures, and training while relaying relevant information to the proper teams for resolution.
Assists with maintenance of various licensing databases to account for all license jurisdictions, applications, tax payments, and register restrictions in addition to licensing compliance efforts by recording and sending new licenses, set guides, and required signage to newly licensed stores. This role also assists the inventory team and field leadership with transferring alcohol and tobacco during relocations and store closures.
Creates and maintains new license projections for alcohol and tobacco sales and assists Manager with monthly licensing milestone updates and project status delays.

General Summary:
Serve as a leading contributor supporting the capital expense and IT budget on Dollar General's Financial Planning and Analysis team. Duties & Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and coordinate the capital expenditure forecast to facilitate investment decisions by Senior Management. This includes the following:
Manage the capital budgeting calendar and processes and collaborate with finance partners to support the overall budget planning process.
Monitor capital expense procedures, forms, and communications to support funding requests from cross-functional departments and ensure SOX compliance.
Process company-wide capital investment requests and prepare weekly summary reports for the CFO and SVP of Finance.
Analyze project requests and perform cost-benefit analysis to determine key financial metrics (IRR, NPV, and payback period) and assist Senior Management in making investment decisions.

Support forecasting and ad-hoc analysis for the IT budget. Utilize activity-based budgeting to define and prioritize critical areas of spend.
Liaison with Treasury to gather information for the implementation of an FP&A view of Balance Sheet and Cash Flow components (fixed assets, other assets).

Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices (deposits, store keys, SAFE program, etc.)

Certain store locations may give preference to bilingual Spanish speakers.
WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent walking and standing.
Frequent bending, stooping and kneeling to run check out station, stock merchandise and unload trucks.
Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment such as hand-held scanner, pricing guns, box cutters, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, and U-boats (six-wheel carts).
Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 55 pounds.
Occasional climbing (using ladder).
Regularly driving/providing own transportation to make bank deposits and occasionally to attend management meetings and to other Dollar General stores.
Fast-paced environment; moderate noise level.
Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
