Co-Opportunity is a chance for you to learn about your chosen field in a real work environment with experienced GAF professionals. You'll be involved in high-profile projects as an integral member of our working teams. We offer full-time assignments to those students who are working toward undergraduate or graduate degrees in chemical, electrical and mechanical engineering. Each assignment lasts a school term, and you may be invited to return for additional terms while you continue your education. You will receive a competitive salary and - depending on location - a temporary living allowance or relocation allowance.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing raw material quality assurance activities and material performance.

  • Conducting problem solving investigations and troubleshooting to assure root cause is identified, counter measures and recurrence prevention are fully implemented.

  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives directly or indirectly with suppliers.

  • Providing technical support and analytical analysis for material issues.

  • Involvement with data flow diagrams/technical diagrams.

At GAF, We Require:

  • Spring term candidates must be able to work full-time for a minimum of 6-months (January - June 2025). Summer term candidates must be able to work full-time for 3 months (June - Aug 2025). We also offer combined Spring/Summer terms (January - Aug 2025).

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.

  • All candidates must have a minimum 2.8 GPA, with at least a sophomore standing.

  • Problem solving, project management and communication skills are all necessary as is the ability to operate in a team environment. In addition, candidates must have the ability to generate accurate and concise technical reports.

  • Candidates should also have computer skills in Google as well as basic knowledge of MS Visio and Auto CAD.

  • Each rotation typically culminates with a formal report-out presentation to a group of GAF leaders from multiple functional areas.

Team or Function Overview

The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for supporting our sales and marketing efforts at large national retail locations.

Summary

GAF is seeking a high-energy sales professional with a track record of building successful relationships and closing new business. This role facilitates the sale and flow of GAF products through big box home improvement retail accounts working closely with contractors to educate/promote GAF products that help them build their business. As a Retail Sales Rep, you will act as a consultant between GAF, the stores, and contractors.

Essential Duties Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Train individuals or small groups with emphasis on general product knowledge, application techniques, and best practices.

  • Provide feedback on market conditions, monitor, inventory levels, and provide training to retail associates

  • DevelopandmaintaincloseworkingrelationshipswiththeRetailSalesService Manager, Pro Retail Specialist, GAF Territory Sales Managers, Big Box home improvement retail management teams, inside and outside pro associates, merchandising teams, and store associates.

  • Build and manage a book of contractors from prospecting and cold calling through to the consultation phase, building lasting and meaningful relationships. Expect to juggle competing priorities and store requests/deadlines regularly.

  • Own, progress, and close the sales funnel, turning potential Contractor opportunities into wins, through value-selling the benefits of GAF products. Overcome objections and convert hurdles into growth opportunities, while selling the GAF value proposition.

  • Work with Retail Outside selling teams to establish trust and support as the expert in roofing when working with them or their customers on large projects

  • Display strong negotiating tactics by leveraging value propositions and GAF System

Selling

  • Compile reporting to highlight hits, misses, learning, competitive landscape, and strategic next steps; proactively identify opportunities to exceed expectations and position our clients as leaders in their space.

  • Influence your contractors constantly networking to become a trusted advisor to existing and potential customers. Navigate when to defer to a client's request vs. when to guide a client to make better choices. Thrive on expert problem solving, determining solutions that execute favorable results. Engage and educate customers with insight and product knowledge via Retail store/contractor meetings.

  • Explain complex subject matters (e.g. market conditions) to any audience and tactfully communicate both good & bad news.

The ideal candidate thrives in environments where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities. The Shipper / Receiver provides effective communication, and coordinates back-up and support for all logistics functions related to daily shipments. The Shipper / Receiver will be able to effectively step in and perform any of the individual jobs in the department, in the absence of other team members.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Organizing, Prioritizing and Communication, Ownership skills are critical. Ability to adapt to a daily schedule.

Must be able to lead and delegate tasks by having positive working relationships. Being aware of co-worker's current workload, shifting duties to the right person at the appropriate time and adjusting throughout the day as needed to meet timelines.

On deliveries, he/she will assist to collect BOLs, packing slips and/or invoices for every shipment received. Shipper/Receiver will verify quantities, and continue to teach other crew members to count and verify receivables as well. Correct data will be entered into PeopleSoft, Maximo and/or other applicable systems.

Assists in coordinating all outbound trucks, orders, load types and correct doors based on order number and load type.

Ensure truck drivers understand correct tarping, strapping, edge protectors and all loading procedures.

Throughout the day, will keep CarrierPoint updated, tracking inbounds and outbounds, including tracking pallets shipped and received.

Facilitate communication with customer service daily on orders and problem solving.

Follow and document Hazardous Materials Transportation Guidelines for all shipments.

Be available to train new warehouse employees; continue to share knowledge as needed.

Assist with cycle counts and inventory management

Ensure that all departmental expectations are met or exceeded Unload/load trucks when needed; other duties as assigned

  • Insights project management and resource planning. Plans, manages, and delivers Marketing Insights projects. Manages and executes end-to-end research projects, including requirement gathering, defining research approach/methodology, participant recruitment, and questionnaire/discussion guide development to meet the insights needs of the business.

  • Oversees agency partners/outside vendors. Conduct Commercial market research projects through third parties if additional resources are required OR an outside perspective is needed. Manage requirements, resources, budget and internal stakeholders throughout the process.

  • Owner of several Insights tools/systems. Owns the management, administration and strategic execution of key Insights systems including Workfront and Aurelius.

  • Owner of several Insights tools/systems. Owns the management, administration and strategic execution of key Insights systems including Workfront and Aurelius.

Team Overview

The Insights Team is a world class research function dedicated to advocating for GAF's customers, identifying customer needs and pain points while supporting insights driven customer led innovation across GAF's products and experiences. We are strategic business partners who strive to uncover, deliver and evangelize actionable insights to drive product/program strategy, design and experience.

Summary

The Senior Marketing Insights Analyst - Commercial, plays an integral role in establishing GAF as the leader in Commercial roofing by building a clear connection to customer needs and empowering the organization to make customer led strategic business decisions. Reporting to the Manager Marketing Insights - Commercial, this role will support and manage Market Research initiatives, the results of which will drive Product, Brand, Marketing and Customer Program strategy for GAF's growing Commercial business.

The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset while being intellectually curious as they help develop and deliver the information that will drive and support Marketing and Product Strategy. This person is a listener and asks questions to clearly articulate customer needs that can be leveraged to develop impactful market research plans.

This position will be responsible for simultaneously managing, planning, executing and successfully delivering multiple insights projects of varying size and complexity. Marketing research experience is required.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plans,manages,anddeliversMarketingInsightsprojects.Underthesupervisionof the Manager Marketing Insights - Commercial, executes end-to-end research projects, including requirement gathering, defining research approach/methodology, participant recruitment, research instrument development/programming/testing, analysis and presentation delivery.

  • Craftsquestionnairesanddiscussionguidesthatmeettheneedsofthebusiness. Leverages in-depth knowledge of survey and discussion guide development best practices to program surveys and qualitative instruments that deliver engaging quantitative and qualitative experiences to our valuable customer base.

  • EmploysQualitativeresearchmethodologies.Thisincludesmoderationoffocusgroupsandindepthinterviewsaswellastheexecutionofunmoderateduser experience testing to gather deeper insights when the need arises.

  • Analyzesworkandpresentsresearchfindingstobusinessowners.Provides actionable insights to project owners and stakeholders at all levels of the organization to drive strategy, design recommendations, experience development and product optimization.

  • Supportsinternalandexternalcrossfunctionalin-personinsightsengagements includingworkshops,focusgroups,co-creationandbrainstormingsessions. Supports the Commercial Insights Manager in partnership with Building & Roofing Science (BRS), R&D, Product Marketing and Sales to successfully execute and deliver impactful engagements that provide insight into challenging business questions, gaps in the market/customer experience and product development opportunities while bringing customer needs to light to drive action.

  • SupportsresearchneedsonrequestforCommercialfocusedareasincludingbutnot limited to Products, Programs, Services and Events for Contractors, Architects, Specifiers, Building Envelope Consultants, Property Managers and Distributors.

  • ManagesworkfrontprojecttrackingsystemfortheMarketingInsightsfunction. Standardizes use across the insights team, monitors requests, analyzes key performance metrics and builds best practices for capturing internal VOTC to drive continuous improvement of the Insights COE.

Under This Roof, We Require

  • 3+ years of related experience in marketing analytics, marketing research, user experience research or management consulting.

  • A Bachelor's Degree/MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Advanced experience with quantitative research (survey design, response effects, sampling, crosstabs, and statistical concepts, etc.) and qualitative/user-centered design methods (individual and group interviews, diary studies, direct observation, think-aloud usability testing, etc.).

  • Advanced experience with a broad range of Marketing Research tools/technology including Qualtrics, Usertesting.com and other online insights tools

  • Advanced experience with Excel (advanced), PowerPoint (advanced), and Word

  • Experience working in the Building Materials space. Experience in adjacent complex industries/product categories will be considered.

  • Expertfacilitation/moderationskillsarerequired.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.

  • Marketing Research, Customer Experience or User Experience Research certifications preferred.

  • A Bachelor's Degree/MBA focused in Statistics, Research, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Human Factors, HCI/CS, Marketing, General Management, Architecture, Sustainability or Engineering is a plus.

  • Excellentcommunicator(bothwrittenandverbal)withstrongbusinessacumenand strong work ethic.

  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to effectively manage a large workload with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Annual Salary Range: 90,000-115,000
