Summary

The Maintenance Technician-Electronics responds to issues on the production lines and performs diversified maintenance work. The primary role of this position will focus on installation and repair of complex electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment including automated machines, robotics, and process controls. This position assists in implementing machine modifications and upgrades, conducts research and development to resolve issues, and recommends improvements to the overall performance of the plant equipment and systems. Qualified candidates must have Allen Bradley PLC programming/ troubleshooting experience.

Regular Shift: 5am to 3:30p (Monday-Thursday, some Friday work required)

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge of the NEC and use of wiring methods that meet all code requirements

  • Plan and perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles.

  • Periodically investigate and make an analysis of electrical or electronic-based problems associated with the production operations, and take the appropriate action to correct these problems.

  • Build and install industrial automation equipment.

  • Conducttechnicalauditsofequipmentconditionstatusandreportfindings.

  • Use Lock Tag Verify to remove all energy sources from equipment.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools and other tools required by your area of technical expertise.

  • Use Logix 500 and Studio 5000 software to troubleshoot. (Preferred)

  • Technicalskillsreflectinganunderstandingoftheoreticalconceptsaswellas practical application.

  • Safetyconsciousnesswithathoroughunderstandingoffederal,state,localand plant-wide safety standards and concepts.

  • Haveapositiveattitudeandbemotivated,responsible,andtrustworthy.

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for -hands-on- work in a manufacturing plant environment.

  • Willingness to seek assistance and collaborate with support personnel.

Team Overview:

A specialized category of study related to GAF's CARE technical training program, the GAF Roofing Academy targets an annual placement of 500+ -students-, coming from various sources, and operates much like a full-fledged technical training program. Summary:

The GAF Roofing Academy Lead Program Manager is charged with all aspects of the GAF Roofing Academy recruiting funnel partnerships. This nationwide Roofing Academy program is a primary feeder pool of roofing talent made available to contractors and the roofing industry. The Lead Manager will serve as a sourcing -funnel- and is responsible for securing quality sources of talent into the GAF Roofing Academy from multiple partnerships such as military, formerly incarcerated, immigrant and vocational populations on a national level.

The Lead Program Manager plays a key role in the recruitment, admission, support, and relationship management and placement of all graduates of the GAF Roofing Academy.   • Manage Roofing Academy course scheduling and planning across the CARE team.

  • Work directly with CARE area managers to ensure placement goals are met.

Summary

The Driver Services Coordinator (DSC) is responsible for providing and maintaining appropriate documentation which includes driver sign-in, order verification. Will assist the Shipping Lead as needed with printing pick tickets, printing bill of ladings, and depletion of orders. The DSC is responsible for traffic flow throughout the facility and working with Supply Chain personnel to make sure all trucks are processed safely and efficiently. The DSC will also be tasked with actively managing the drivers' experience while at the Plant to ensure GAF is driver-centric. The DSC could have additional responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor.

Essential Duties :

  • Carrier Compliance and Driver Experience

  • Greeting the drivers with a cordial and positive attitude during the sign in and sign out process.

  • Communicate with the Transportation Planner regarding no shows and reschedule as necessary.

  • Process in and out the Raw Material trucks following site procedures.

  • Obtain Trucking Company Name, equipment weights, equipment type, trailer number. Provide/Confirm with the driver any information or site instructions specific to their load, i.e. appointment time, required equipment (tarps, V-boards), and preparing their vehicle for loading/unloading.

  • Be able to recognize and ensure (through communicating with Loaders) special customer load requirements are followed.

  • Actively manage the truck flow on property and direct the carriers to the appropriate loading/unloading areas to maximize loading efficiency and minimize drivers' time on-premise.

  • Monitor and manage time on property to ensure load times are not excessive. Address excessive wait times with the shipping supervisor and use site knowledge to manage load times.

  • Assist the Transportation Planner with planning and executing driver activities and giveaways throughout the year so as to show GAF's appreciation and create a positive experience for the driver.

  • Confirm that all outbound/inbound finished goods have been scheduled in CarrierPoint as required. Ensure that all carrier arrivals and departures are recorded and maintained in WMS.

  • Using the WMS and or Carrier Point, gate in all arriving carriers, confirm the appointment and the load they are picking up/delivering.

  • Ensure that all paperwork is signed and completed as required by GAF policy, the driver will be provided with their copies of the paperwork, and the order is gated out and depleted using WMS.

  • Confirm that all appointments for the day in CarrierPoint have been closed out or moved/rescheduled as necessary.

  • Phone Coverage

  • Answer the general phone line and provide assistance or direct the call as necessary.

  • DSC will be expected to answer all general questions in regards to scheduling appointments and directions to the plant.

  • The DSC will also assist in making appointments via Carrier Point with both Contract Carriers and CPU's.

Warehouse Flow and Control

  • The DSC will respond to requests in locating alternate locations for put away or picking as may be appropriate for the load.

  • The DSC will communicate any discrepancies with the Logistics & Transportation Supervisor or Shipping Supervisor or Lead to resolve.

  • Direct visitors to the appropriate location and radio the appropriate GAF contact.

  • Take on special projects within the department to support and drive shipping goals and initiatives.

  • Respond to information requests from GAF/Siplast Customer Care as needed.

Physical Demands

Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for the identification, design, and implementation of engineering solutions as a support to plant production. Identify potential savings opportunities with each project, and provide troubleshooting support for production issues following project implementation. Provide support to Production, Maintenance, and Logistics groups by executing thorough and timely improvements on the production line. Lead discussions, projects, and people to full issue resolution.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ownaproblemfromconception;applyingallareasofengineeringexpertiseto obtain a workable solution. Interface with Maintenance and Production to ascertain and identify operating and maintenance problems. Conduct the engineering analysis and follow through with minor project recommendations.

  • Maintain thorough engineering standards for project execution, design, equipment standards, safety, schedule and cost control. Complete engineering projects in the smoothest and most efficient manner without causing production delays or upsets. As needed, coordinate between contractor and company to provide seamless service.

  • Prepare Capital Expenditure requests, project scope overall descriptions, and business justification for all capital expenditures. Support project spending tracking and forecasting by partnering with Accounting and Purchasing teams; provide information to superiors about changes in input costs, material costs, or project length/complexity. Assemble cost estimates for scope changes.

  • Lead Design Review, Potential Problem Analysis, and Pre Startup Safety Review meetings with appropriate team members to ensure a safe, efficient design and installation. Work to improve overall efficiency in the line. Post-installation documentation including as-builts, spare parts lists + delivery of vendor docs like manuals, etc.

  • Participate on problem solving teams and project teams as a technical resource geared towards improving the performance of existing production equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading

  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs and walk on open grating on elevated surfaces

  • Required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of production and office machinery

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for the identification, design, and implementation of engineering solutions as a support to plant production. Identify potential savings opportunities with each project, and provide troubleshooting support for production issues following project implementation. Provide support to Production, Maintenance, and Logistics groups by executing thorough and timely improvements on the production line. Lead discussions, projects, and people to full issue resolution.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ownaproblemfromconception;applyingallareasofengineeringexpertiseto obtain a workable solution. Interface with Maintenance and Production to ascertain and identify operating and maintenance problems. Conduct the engineering analysis and follow through with minor project recommendations.

  • Maintain thorough engineering standards for project execution, design, equipment standards, safety, schedule and cost control. Complete engineering projects in the smoothest and most efficient manner without causing production delays or upsets. As needed, coordinate between contractor and company to provide seamless service.

  • Prepare Capital Expenditure requests, project scope overall descriptions, and business justification for all capital expenditures. Support project spending tracking and forecasting by partnering with Accounting and Purchasing teams; provide information to superiors about changes in input costs, material costs, or project length/complexity. Assemble cost estimates for scope changes.

  • Lead Design Review, Potential Problem Analysis, and Pre Startup Safety Review meetings with appropriate team members to ensure a safe, efficient design and installation. Work to improve overall efficiency in the line. Post-installation documentation including as-builts, spare parts lists + delivery of vendor docs like manuals, etc.

  • Participate on problem solving teams and project teams as a technical resource geared towards improving the performance of existing production equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading

  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs and walk on open grating on elevated surfaces

  • Required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of production and office machinery

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical) required

  • 1+ years' experience in a technical related work field.

  • Ability to travel 50%.
