Job Description

Title: JANITOR Location: United States-Florida-Pensacola Job Number: 220004ER Job Summary Performs a full range of cleaning tasks involved in the maintenance of a designated area, utilizing heavy industrial type equipment. Duties and Responsibilities - Receives specific oral or written instructions and assignments from supervisor or crew leader. Work is reviewed frequently for cleanliness and performance. - Maintains a specific area orderly and clean. Sets up own schedule and sequence which states the required frequency of each task. - Scrubs, strips, waxes and polishes floors using heavy (industrial type) vacuum cleaner. Adjusts, cleans and oils these machines and changes brushes, rollers, buffers and other attachments. Sweeps floor, hallways, empties garbage, dusts office furniture and empties ash trays, shampoos rugs, cleans air vents, disinfects and deodorizes toilet bowls, lavatories, etc. - Washes and replaces venetian blinds and washes ceiling fixtures: changes light bulbs and room partitions using ladders and scaffolds. - Cleans and maintains machines, equipment, and makes adjustments accordingly. Reports all equipment malfuctions to supervisor and performs minor repairs to equipment. - Removes stains from a variety of surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, floors and fixtures by use of chemicals and cleaning solutions. - Moves heavy furniture, supplies and equipment. - Cleans windows and doors inside and out at ground levels. - May operate a motor vehicle in the performance of the above duties on a limited basis. - Performs other related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Moderately heavy physical effort is used occasionally in moving, setting up and working from ladders and scaffolds. Frequently lifts and moves objects weighing about 40 pounds and occasionally objects weighing over 50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: - Indoors in areas which normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation. Occasionally exposed to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions. - Possibility exists of serious disabling injury as a result of electrical shocks from power cleaning equipment or from falling scaffolds or ladders. Qualifications: Six months experience performing cleaning tasks using industrial type cleaning equipment. Runs reports to ensure the contractor information is balanced. - Review vendor invoices to ensure that product cost match product cost in VMS system. - Prepares Monthly Vending Machine Micro Market Reports to include gross profit report month end inventory and Journal Entries etc. - Processes Lawson requisitions and is the Purchase card holders. - Receives equipment purchases in Lawson and is responsible for updating the VMS system with the fixed asset number. - Enters in information into the VMS system to include Micro Market Contracted vendors and vending data. - Manages customer service calls emails dealing with broken machines. Determines the identity of the caller and records pertinent information that is inputted into the VMS system and relayed to the appropriate associates. For contractor owned machines notifies contractors of problems logs the trouble call in the VMS system and follows up with the contractor that is has been resolved. Provides information in response to operation inquiries to appropriate officials and solves minor problems. - Prepares documentation for commission reports to ensure payments to commands based on MOA perimeters. - Maintains refund claims for contracted and NEX owned machines to ensure they are properly logged in the VMS system and reimbursements are received from contracted vendors. - May be required to assist in the warehouse and with receiving functions should the business need arise. - Order office supplies for vending associates within the vending department. - Maintains payroll and time cards for associates. - Maintains Sub-Custody Change Fund documents from Cash Office. - Maintains records of all NEXCOM Notices Instructions SOPs etc. - Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Work is performed independently and within the framework of established policies procedures and guides and is reviewed for accuracy neatness and adequacy. Refers unusual problems to supervisor for resolution. Is required to maintain a level of confidentiality. - Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE 1 year progressively responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. This supervisory position involves architectural engineering contractual and financial activities in support of capital project execution. Duties and Responsibilities: - Works under the general direction of the Director of Design and Construction (BD) with wide latitude for exercise of independent judgment to perform work described. The BD Director outlines broad overall programs, policies, sets goals and target dates and special priorities. Incumbent works within this purview of directives and instructions promulgated by higher authority as well as in accordance with professional architectural and engineering principles and practices. - Develops and/or reviews construction drawings, specifications, and designs to ensure they meet brand standards, major applicable codes, and other regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Requires the following: Degree in architecture or engineering or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture/engineering or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural/engineering design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems. OR A combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural/engineering principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings.
