Description
As the Division manager of the Core Software Technology team in Cat Electronics, you will lead the team responsible for the core software components that support the machine and engine electronics system applications for Caterpillar's product portfolio.
Job Duties
Manages a division of about 100 software engineers including Cat and Agency employees in Mossville, Illinois.
Provides software product line direction for global resources engaged in developing core software components.
Leads the maintenance and development of the core software product lines. Examples include electronic control module platform software, operating systems, common software services, datalink software and software development environment.
Coordinates design, build, test, and development with purchasing for sourced software components, quality control, application system integration, and service areas
Ensures completion of product tests and development work in software validation labs, proving grounds or in the field in conjunction with the engineering programs
Plays a major role in the long-range planning of software technology innovation, product line development, and product life cycle management
Acts as a software liaison with other divisions and coordinates the design of electrical and electronics components and sub-systems (electronics ECMs and electrical components, engines electronics sub-systems, transmissions electronics sub-systems, hydraulics-electronics sub-systems, etc.) used in electronics systems for machine and engine appellations.
Directs and coordinates the flexible resource management, facilities planning and indirect planning activities
Manages an annual budget in a range of $18-20 million and accountable for the division's financials
Basic Qualifications
15 + years' experience to gain knowledge of engineering principles and practices and good familiarity with software product design and engineering process, test procedures, application system integration configuration, calibration, tuning and testing.
5+ years of experience supervising software product development teams
