About IPSD

Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary:

The Industrial Power Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for a Production Support Specialist, IRA position in Seguin, TX. As a Production Support Specialist, you will improve product quality, velocity, and cost by providing assistance to the assigned department.

What you will do:

  • Maintain and improve the integrity and reliability of process controls within the production process to ensure customer protection

  • Perform daily reconciliation of financial transactions and accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Review and analyze data on computer systems for extended periods

  • Perform Plan / Cycle Counts of designated parts of the production processes to ensure critical to customer actions are occurring correctly

  • Lead and support Caterpillar Production System continuous improvement activities

  • Provide support to quality issues identified on the production line as needed

  • Escalate issues to supervisor if not supplier related

  • Create quality alerts per established guidelines to maintain operator awareness.

  • Execute containments as required in an effective manger and communicate results

  • Execute special studies as directed by Section Managers to understand line performance

  • Monitor quality performance of the line (reject, activity, holds, etc.) and react to issues accordingly

  • Create audits and emails to communicate on findings

  • Investigate suspect material to root cause and provide feedback

  • All other duties assigned

What you will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of products and assembly tools

  • Ability to collaborate with different teams

  • Intermediate experience using PLEX

  • Proven experience operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other related equipment

What would make you a top candidate:

  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking

  • Proven experience using MAMM systems

Physical Requirements(with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Ability to perform repetitive operations

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information:

  • $18.50/hour starting payrate

  • Shift: Monday through Friday - 7:00 AM-3:30PM
