Job Description:
Controls the flow of material and assets from vendors to production and repair, and ultimately to customer or manufacturing sites. Oversees the execution and continuous improvement of all logistics processes and systems. Defines and develops logistics support requirements, plans and schedules; performs life cycle cost, reliability, maintainability and availability analyses. Performs testing and analyzes technical data and reports to determine/formulate specific recommendations regarding spare/repair parts and support equipment. Ensures that milestones are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to adhere to master plans and schedules and maximize customer satisfaction. Builds relationships with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers through the resolution of delivery issues. Analyzes and provides input to drawing documentation and technical orders .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates and collaborates across all functional areas of the manufacturing facility to meet on time delivery of products.
Works closely with internal departments, customers, and carriers to satisfy internal and external requests.
Ensures compliance with government regulations, corporate and industry standards and procedures, and customer requirements, to include f unctional knowledge of export and trade compliance, dangerous goods and hazardous materials transportation, customs documentation, certificates of conformance, and airway bills.
Proactively identify possible constraints to shipping, receiving, and stockroom while engaging with internal stakeholders to manage priorities to meet customer requirements.
Ensures employees have appropriate access to process, maintain, and update various shared databases and customer portals.
Oversees the execution and continuous improvement of all logistics processes and systems.
Builds relationships with manufacturing, suppliers, carriers, and customers through the resolution of delivery issues.
Assists in planning and maintaining of logistics policies and procedures.
Keeps records of accountable and auditable transactions relating to logistics operations.
Resolves problems that are related to transportation and logistics systems.
Communicates transport or logistics costs to customers or suppliers as the case may be.
Understands the criminal liability, civil liability, and administrative penalties for violating U.S. or Foreign Government Export/Import Laws and Regulations.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills
Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function/area, which includes customers, vendors, carriers.
Functional knowledge of enterprise resource planning software, with experience in shipping, receiving and stockroom processes in the manufacturing environment.
Properly classify shipments while holding knowledge of packaging, marking and labeling packages with hazard identification
Proactively identify possible constraints to shipping, receiving, and stockroom processes while engaging with internal and external stakeholders in order to manage priorities to meet customer requirements.
Process, maintain, and update various shared databases and customer portals with a high level of accuracy to ensure process continuity.
Works closely with internal departments, customers, and carriers to receive, facilitate, and follow up on internal and external requests.
Strong computer skills required (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task, set priorities and exhibit excellent follow-up.
Ability to create a framework for tracking and reporting metrics associated with trade compliance roles and responsibilities.
Ability to lead a team as a coach, mentor. Establish Key Process Measurements for Shipping, Receiving, and Stockroom.
Work Environment:
Work performed in a warehouse environment.
May require the use of PPE.
Working with computers, and other computer components, wiring
Independently lift 30 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and crawl in small tight spaces.
Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside of normal working hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays).
Required Skills, Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience .
Experience with maintaining auditable records of government-owned property located at the facility and associated vendor/subcontractor facilities or other alternate sites.
Experience managing teams and personnel.
Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
