As a Quality Analyst - Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) - you would perform analytical process steps described in the Caterpillar Quality Management System (Caterpillar QMS). This role is fundamentally a reactive quality role; responding to daily supplier caused nonconformances identified during the manufacturing process.

JOB DUTIES:

As a SQE you would be responsible for the facilitation of nonconformances between Caterpillar and the supplier while maintaining a working relationship through constant collaboration with multiple departments (Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Quality, etc.). The position monitors adherence to quality standards and develops action plans for addressing below standard performance by their assigned suppliers.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve nonconformances by collecting/analyzing quality data

  • Initiating containment / sort activities for nonconforming materials.

  • Responding to requests for print interpretation, deviation requests, engineering changes, inspection methods, etc. from support teams.

  • Dispositioning Materials through the Nonconformance Management (NCM) System

  • Issuing Corrective Action Request (CAR)

  • Following MQ4006 guidelines for NCM Disposition

  • Following MQ4007 guidelines for Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) recovery

  • Support Internal & External Quality Certification activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years Manufacturing Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office or Equivalent

  • Cooperative work experience in building strong relationships with others inside and outside the department and Caterpillar.

Top Candidates will also Have:

  • 2+ Years of technical school, an apprenticeship program, a junior college diploma, or the equivalent in on-the-job training/experience

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Caterpillar Print Reading Training

  • GD&T Training

  • Experience with the following systems:

  • Q-Net Software

  • ETQ Reliance

  • AQE

  • EPIX

  • REDI

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • This position will close on June 19, 2023 at 11:59pm.

  • This position is located in Lafayette, IN.

  • This position estimates 5 to 10% Travel
