Summary You will serve as a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST in the Supply Management Department Mid-Atlantic, Regional Supply Office Oceana (RSO-O) of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK. Responsibilities You will provide logistical and administrative support augmenting management efforts to evaluate and improve the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of various logistic programs throughout the entire Supply Department. You will perform more complicated routine assignments under the supervision of the supervisor or Senior General Supply Specialist. You will perform tasks involving the use of unfamiliar formats, methods and procedures. You will investigate any and all supply related customer complaints or reports of deficiencies. You will perform inventories, quality audits, and input information into data base systems for tracking. You will provide assistance and support to management personnel by organizing, collecting, analyzing, and presenting statistical information related to current Supply Department workload. You will perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate supporting the management or analysis of supply programs performing work including: 1.) Supporting higher graded personnel involved in the analysis of problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; 2.) Use self-management to plan and organize work under direction of higher-graded specialist; 3.) Performing inventories; 4) Ability to use applicable and established automated systems such as Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Outlook; 5.) Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
