SPM Oil & Gas, A Caterpillar Company is currently looking for a Senior Staff Accountant Cost and Decision Support role in Fort Worth, Texas. As a Senior Staff Accountant Cost and Decision Support, you are responsible for providing expertise on complex business, financial or managerial issues within a business unit or corporate environment. Additionally, this position will act as a teacher on accounting issues to staff accountants as well as non-accountants, resolve issues independently, lead teams and address complex problems, and provide recommendations to business unit managers and leaders often working on tactical and strategic business issues.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Determines Internal Rate of Return (IRR) for high complexity projects

  • Services (OPACC) growth strategy

  • Quality of earnings analysis

  • Enterprise coordination and/or governance of costing and/or investment activities

  • Product group and/or operational strategy development & execution

  • low-cost producer analysis

  • Global footprint and sourcing strategy

  • Development of new/alternative costing methodologies, processes, and/or systems

  • Business proposal development and/or review

  • Post Implementation Audit (PIA) completion and/or review

  • Other duties as assigned such as: develops worldwide sourcing studies; develops methodology and providing education to accounting and non-accounting staffs and cross-functional teams; communicates/consults with worldwide audience on cost accounting issues

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and 6-8 years of accounting experience or related field with a minimum of 18 hours of college level accounting or approved accounting certification or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must have a broad understanding of accounting business processes and process improvements.

  • Must have good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Must have good initiative, leadership, and judgment skills.

Top candidates will also have:

  • The ability to develop reports and scorecards in Power BI or like tools are desired.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Caterpillar business, products, suppliers, and customers.
