Job Description:
Caterpillar's Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) Division has an opening for a Global Aftermarket Parts Supply Chain S&OP Manager. In this role, the individual will lead the S&OP process, collaborate across Demand Managers, Go to Market, Operations, Supply Chain, Product, Component and Supplier/Procurement teams to deliver effective Sales and Operations Plans for the Aftermarket Product Group.
Leads S&OP and Board S&OP reviews with Machine Business Division Vice Presidents, Value Stream Managers, Operations Vice President and Senior Vice President of the Division. The role also supports Executive Office Business S&OP review for the Resource Industries.
Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Execution of RIOP Aftermarket Parts S&OP process
End to end value chain synchronization of demand, inventory and supply
Order/Supply conformance tracking and Improvement
Business cycle planning
This role is responsible for completing an effective RIOP division level S&OP process each month and building/managing a team to review parts performance, supply performance and recommend RI inputs to stocking levels in the end-to-end supply chain.
Lead projects to implement and improve S&OP Processes across Demand and Supply & other relevant processes.
Provide input and work closely with the component product groups, the site operations & supply chain organizations, and the after-market parts distribution organization to support business division strategy development and strategic supply chain initiatives deployment and target setting.
Drive orders, supply and inventory conformance targets and key KPI's for business and P/L performance improvement. Develop process inputs and business visibility measures to effectively manage business via effective cycle management techniques.
Flag nonconformances and working with other supply chain functional areas on continuous improvement efforts via the RIOP's Supply Chain Lean Improvement process
Collaborate and communicate across partner functions and divisions in order to effectively develop & deploy end to end strategic supply chain initiatives, which may include implementing changes to component sourcing, distribution channels, manufacturing & assembly sourcing globally.
Provide leadership, coaching, focus, motivation and encouragement to direct reports
Support supply chain team efforts to implement transformational supply chain sourcing & footprint initiatives
Support efforts to identify and resolve RIOP's supply chain constraints
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics Management
10+ years of value chain experience in Product, Manufacturing, and/or Parts Distribution
2+ years in Aftermarket parts related experience related to either Order to Delivery planning processes, S&OP or Project leadership roles
3+ years of supervisory experience
Top Candidates will also have:
Problem solving skills - Experience in program management, Lean processes and tools. Strong influencing skills including ability to present information to executive leadership.
Innovative skills -- Ability to analyze chain performance and identify innovative effective solutions to drive supply chain transformational changes.
Background in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics
Experience in Mining products and supply chain experience.
Experience in Aftermarket Supply Chain and Distribution is an asset: Inventory/supply, dealer order management and supply management.
Experience with Mining industry service parts specifics is an asset. Such as: mining machines rebuild cycles and processes, demand planning, lumpy demand, slow moving inventories, factory ordered parts.
Mining product and/or manufacturing experience is an asset: understand specific mining supply/product issues and be able to shape supply performance improvements.
This role has significant interactions with RIOP executive leadership. Experience in executive interactions and communications will be valuable.
