New York's flagship sports talk station WFAN 101.9FM/660AMand CBS Sports Radiois seeking a full-time SportsAnchor. If you know New York sports and you are a great story teller with an engaging personality we may have the perfect job for you. You willcreate and deliverdaily fast-paced entertaining and sportsupdates, focusing heavily on comprehensive coverage of the major New York sports brands and the development of hot topics of local and national scope. You will alsobe required to interact live with talk shows with updated information and actualities.If you understand that radio is a two-way, cross-platform digital experience, WFAN may be the place for you!
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Perform broadcasts that are entertaining and informative
Communicate daily with producer and program director to ensure program goals are met
Interact with the audience on-air and via social media on a daily basis
Maintain strong contacts and relationships with local sports brands
Create daily content for website and social media channels
Prepare and research for broadcasts
Protect the station's FCC license
Write and edit hourly reports for WFAN and CBS Sports Radio.
Review audio and edit actualities for air.
Making personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts
Other duties as required by management
Qualifications
More About You:
Must be an excellent communicator with strong creative skills
Must be able to host if necessary.
Must have solid production skills and a strong working knowledge of studio audio equipment necessary for on-air and production execution.
Knowledge of the format and audience required
Knowledgeable of FCC guidelines
Connections and familiarity with New York and National sports landscape
Required:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Google Applications (Drive, Docs, Drive, etc...) and have the ability to fully utilize all the tools of broadcast and social media in the field (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram live and recorded video and audio equipment, etc.)
Position requires proficiency or aptitude in editing and packaging news sound and interviews.
Position requires contemporary sound and excellent on-air delivery.
Knowledge of the broadcast area and station demographics is essential.
A valid driver's license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
