JOB SUMMARY

  • Responsible for managing the day-to-day field operations of the FMT meter group while supporting region customer requirements.

  • Formulate, develop, and implement the required metering polices, methods, and procedures for the FMT meter group. Responsible for the proper installation, maintenance, and accuracy of Self-Contained metering systems.

  • The supervisor's metering workforce is in multiple operating headquarters.

  • Accountable for the overall leadership and coordination of service order management and all other daily duties of FMT's assigned to them.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety: Personal safety, workgroup safety, present meter safety presentations annually to regions and others as appropriate.

  • Subject Matter Expert on Blue Book pertaining to self-contained metering.

  • Interface cross functionally with Customer Service, Engineering, Distribution, Lighting Services, Trouble Services, Maintenance, Metering Services and Billing Services.

  • Responsible for providing answers to questions from both internal and external customers to ensure customers' needs are met and issues resolved. This will require work and meetings with customers in the field.

  • Assist employees with issues identified in the field (locked gates, unsafe meter cans and locations, etc.) Eliminate barriers to ensure safe, effective and efficient field work (i.e. unsafe meter locations, locked facilities, access issues, crossed meters, etc.)

  • Coordinate and facilitate the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, coaching, education, performance evaluations, employee development and training.

  • Accountability for goal achievement by leveraging existing and emerging technologies for innovative solutions for the customer.

  • Serve as a region resource on ARMS and Service Orders Processes, which includes ARMS administration and training.

  • Actively serve in a SERP role and provides support to direct reports in their assigned roles.

  • Accountable for the overall leadership of testing, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing AMI meters and meter sockets while ensuring they are communicating with the AMI network.

  • Responsible for providing support for new and ongoing updates to meter technology, vendor software, diagnostic tools, changes to test equipment and work instructions.

  • Provide assistance to Metering Services Engineering and AMI with field investigations on AMI system performance and problems with meter programming.

  • Manage the oversight of CSS responsibilities and access requirements for employees to ensure compliance with Georgia Power's policies and procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills )

  • Four-year degree preferred but not required.

  • Work experience in Customer Service and Customer Field Services type environment strongly preferred.

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated exemplary safety behaviors and total commitment to Safety Excellence.

  • Proven leadership skills by being responsible for leading and managing in a continuous changing environment.

  • Experience dealing with customers and resolution of customer issues

  • Strong decision-making abilities including ability to analyze, and problem solve.

  • Ability to collaborate, provide direction, interpret, and apply policies/procedures.

  • Strong performance management and employee development skills to meet the needs in the continuous evolving business.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Memorandum of Agreement.

  • Broad knowledge in the following: Region Operations, CSS, and Customer service Standards with particular emphasis on collections processes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of the New Service Delivery Process.

  • Knowledge of ARMS Dispatcher, Mobile and Reporter.
