What you'll do here:
As part of the Gale Primary Sources Production team, the Associate Programmer is responsible for data operations and uses entry level computer programming skills to support the production and delivery of digital content.
Essential functions and responsibilities for this role include:
Learns, uses, and maintains custom applications to process incoming/outgoing data
Ensures timely delivery and QA of incoming content-troubleshoots and resolves errors
Supports team data processing needs
Manages drive inventory, content duplication, and data archiving
Prepares reports, queries, and communicates feedback to team; regularly updates Content Managers
Participates in on-the-job training for design, writing, and testing of internal production systems.
Supports Senior Programmer with updates and maintenance of production systems; collaborates to plan and implement program development
Writes custom programs as needed to support business goals
Skills you will need here:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of information processing systems
Skill in writing computer code in various languages or in language of assignment
Experience with Object Oriented Programming and Design Patterns
Experience with relational databases (rdbms)
Full understanding of software fundamentals
Experience working with XML
Strong project management and organizational skills
Ability to collaborate and work optimally with remote teammates, internal customers, and vendors.
Preferred:
Experience with Visual Basic using the Visual Studio Environment
Experience using MySQL
Experience using Microsoft Access
Experience creating DOS batch files or other scripting languages
Amazon AWS experience

Base Pay Range
The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
$63,800.00 - $102,100.00 USD
