This position works closely with Product teams within Integrated Components and Solutions (ICS) on Business Resources related activities such as the annual Business Plan, quarterly forecasts, analysis of actual results vs. targets, investigation of issues impacting business results, identification of both favorable and unfavorable trends that require action, and generally serving as the first point-of-contact to the product team for all accounting related activity.
Possible areas of responsibility are varied and of medium complexity, including:
internal management accounting, including profit center, service center and component business unit reporting
coordination of purchased services, transfer prices, and accountable target costs
estimating various forecast and budget scenarios as needed based on changing business conditions
presentation and explanation of results to management
Interacts with multiple functional areas and levels of authority. The Staff Accountant I is capable of handling complex accounting issues such as:
reconciliation between forecasts and actual for multiple entities
interpretation of results
intercompany transactions
resolving financial reporting problems
Basic Requirements:
4-year degree in accounting OR any 4-year degree with an accounting certification (CPA/CMA)
1-2 years of accounting experience

Additional Information:
This position would ideally be located in Mossville, IL (Peoria area); however open to considering other Caterpillar facilities within the U.S. (candidates permanent address must be within 50-mile driving distance to a Caterpillar facility)
