Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: 3rd shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Education: A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Related Field

Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will apply scientific and technological principles related to mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, metallurgy, and machine design to enhance the design, production, operation, and use of machinery across various manufacturing platforms. Key responsibilities include:
Major Responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of process and equipment functions in the assigned area of responsibility.
Industrialize manufacturing platforms (platform = process + equipment) for revolutionary systems. Update designs to address safety, performance, and quality issues, or reduce operational costs.
Create project work plans and timelines to meet project goals while maintaining safety, intellectual property, and quality standards.
Oversee initial equipment setup and debugging until turnover to operations.
Develop mechanical, electrical, and process startup checklists, drawings, and documentation, directing technicians as necessary.
Provide troubleshooting support during installation and startup phases, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
Train plant personnel on the manufacturing platform during turnover to operations.
Support project budget estimation and management.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications
Education: A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
Experience: 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment with process and automation equipment.
Knowledge: Familiarity with regulations (e.g., OSHA) and a commitment to ensuring compliance. Background in equipment design using Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling tools.
Desired Skills:
Proactive in addressing issues and problems.
Ability to translate technical solutions into practical process and equipment designs.
Strong decision-making skills, recommending best solutions within plant guidelines.
Ability to carry assignments to completion thoroughly.
Team-oriented with a self-starter attitude focused on results.
Effective communicator, capable of presenting information clearly to project teams and departments.
Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment with a strong safety focus, identifying and correcting potential safety issues proactively.
Assurance of quality and repeatability in processes and products.
Ability to work in mechanical technology or a multi-disciplinary role, collaborating with IT, controls, and process technicians.
