The Product Marketing Manager role reports to the ITW Shakeproof division Innovation Manager and will be responsible for new product marketing. This role will also interact regularly and strategically with the ITW Global Automotive Fastener Innovation Team. The primary function of this role will be to leverage a first-hand understanding of market & technology insights, customer needs alongside related value propositions, and leadership instincts to drive the development and launch of new products. The primary focus will be to work closely within the divisional innovation team and drive the execution of new product development based on customer needs and pain points.
The Product Marketing Manager will work closely with sales, engineering and innovation teams throughout the early stages of the customer back innovation (CBI) process to clearly understand pain points and advocate strong value propositions for resulting product solutions.
Responsibilities
Leverage research, analysis, external market perspectives and internal data to develop Shakeproof's divisional understanding of our Total Addressable Market, Serviceable Addressable Market and Serviceable Obtainable Market for cold-headed fasteners
Customer needs discovery and translation of customer needs into strong product value propositions
Drive market and product offering development in support of profitable growth
Develop and promote the core positioning and messaging for the product portfolio within the framework of ITW Automotive and Shakeproof brand positioning
Perform competitive benchmarking and establish competitive product intelligence for the division's range of products
Work with external third parties to assess product licensing opportunities
Work alongside the sales staff to understand customer pain points and help identify innovative solutions where existing product solutions may not exist
Create product marketing and training tools to support the sales team including product catalogs, value sheets, product offering brochures, website and social media content by leveraging platform marketing strategy, tools, and tactics
Provide technical support and training to the Sales & Engineering team to assist them in competitively positioning existing products and effectively launching new products through the development of material for value sheets, website content and product catalogs.
Creating and presenting formal presentations to all levels of the customer and ITW
Applying ITW innovation strategies and processes to deliver results, utilizing the ITW Toolbox
Meeting deadlines both internally and externally

Experience Requirements and Position Skills:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree - B.A. /B.S. from four-year College or University in Business, Engineering, or Marketing; Master's Degree a plus.
5+ years engineering, sales/marketing, and/or project management experience.
Traditional automotive industry experience or other similar markets preferred.
Knowledge/experience with cold-headed products or engineering background is preferred.
Experience with content creation and product design is a plus.
Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products.
Proven track record of identifying market opportunities and commercializing solutions.
Experience in dealing with customers and vendors.
Experience in customer and market research.
Experience in all aspects of developing and implementing product marketing & management plans.
Technical understanding of customer design requirements and analysis against competitor products.
Strong project management and technical marketing skills.
Ability to prioritize, work independently, and make well-thought-out decisions.
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
Personal accountability to align with the ITW Employee Development & Leadership model.
