Leidos, a global technology leader, is seeking a Journeyman DevSecOps Engineer for our UniCORN program, supporting the United States Air Force in geographically distributed intelligence operations.
UniCORN, developed by Leidos, revolutionizes ISR operations by enabling quick and effective planning, collection, analysis, and production of intelligence. This highly intuitive workflow orchestration system optimizes ISR problem sets, providing enterprise and site-level intelligence production management services for global ISR operations.
As a DevSecOps Engineer for the UNICORN program, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration of security practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will span across development, security, and operations, where you will implement and optimize tools and technologies, automate key processes, and develop robust security strategies. You will work collaboratively with various teams to monitor and enhance the network and security infrastructure, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Your technical expertise will be crucial in identifying and mitigating risks and vulnerabilities, while your strong problem-solving skills will help resolve complex technical issues. This role requires a solid grasp of security concepts, extensive programming knowledge, and the ability to adapt to emerging technologies and threats.

Primary Responsibilities
Infrastructure and Architecture Design:
Create secure infrastructure and architecture designs using Microsoft .NET 8.
Develop implementation plans and guide the operations team through execution.
Ensure designs are scalable, robust, and meet security requirements.
Collaboration with Development Teams:
Work closely with product development teams to integrate security measures.
Proactively prevent impact from malicious actors, including bots and crawlers.
Facilitate secure development practices and ensure compliance with security standards.
Automation and Scripting:
Automate processes using scripting languages.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Enhance efficiency and consistency of deployments through automation.
Cloud and Virtualization Management:
Develop plans for modernizing the infrastructure to move toward the cloud.
Implement Kubernetes and containerization strategies for future cloud deployments.
Manage and optimize Docker and other containerization technologies.
Administration of Web Technologies:
Administer and manage applications built on Microsoft .NET 8.
Ensure these technologies are secure, up-to-date, and optimized for performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to web application deployment.
Version Control and Collaboration Tools:
Utilize Gitbucket for version control and collaboration.
Integrate and manage Atlassian products (e.g., Jira, Confluence) for project tracking and documentation.
Ensure seamless collaboration and efficient workflows across teams.
Learning and Innovation:
Continuously learn and explore new technologies with minimal supervision.
Stay updated with the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends.
Apply innovative solutions to enhance the security and efficiency of the UNICORN platform.
On-Call and Business Hours Support:
Security Strategy Development:
Develop and implement security strategies and controls.
Identify and mitigate risks and vulnerabilities within the system.
Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices within the organization.
Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor the overall network and security infrastructure.
Optimize system performance and ensure the health of applications.
Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively address issues.
Provide metrics and reporting, as required.
Basic Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field:
Associate degree: 4 - 6 years of experience required
Bachelor's Degree: 2 - 4 years of experience required
Master's Degree: 0 - 2 years of experience required
Ability to obtain and maintain up to a TS/SCI security clearance
Certification: CompTIA Security+ Familiarity with Microsoft .NET 4.3 Framework and experience with .NET 8.
Proficiency in scripting languages.
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Experience with version control systems, particularly Gitbucket.
Experience with Atlassian products (e.g., Jira, Confluence) for project management and collaboration.
Experience in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
Experience in an Agile or DevOps environment is a plus.
Strong understanding of DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering methodologies.
Proficiency in developing secure infrastructure designs and guiding their implementation.
Knowledge of cloud and virtualization technologies, with a focus on future cloud migration strategies involving Kubernetes.
Experience in automating security processes and implementing secure development practices.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to web application deployment and infrastructure management.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, including risk identification and mitigation.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with development and operations teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on moderately complex projects.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00
