The Proposal Manager will manage the production of proposals while coordinating a proposal team with the relevant service / product / business knowledge required to produce a consistent, high-quality product for the win. Responsibilities include introduction and implementation of all necessary proposal procedures and processes. This is a highly interactive role, working with a variety of stakeholders across the organization, to coordinate activities and schedules to meet challenging deadlines. Work is performed under only very general direction, and independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
Deliver compliant, professionally produced proposals within customer defined timeframes.
Coordinate and review / edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal, and delivery.
Coach sales teams and subject matter experts in persuasive writing and proposal best practice.
Lead the creation, management, and distribution of targeted in-depth information and analysis of assigned opportunities.
Provide analysis to support sales cycles and consulting strategy, leveraging analytical tools and publications.
Guide sales and consulting team members on the company's proposal development process.
Work in close cooperation with all other areas of the organization.
Handle other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 - 7 years' business experience, preferably in IT government industry.
1 - 2 years' experience leading proposal kick-off meetings, storyboarding, facilitating review cycles/final document review, coordinating proposal governance/sign-off, document production and delivery of the completed proposal.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships to collaborate across organization and with external stakeholders.
Strong writing and editing skills for proposal content and development.
Strong time-management and organizational ability.
Confident with communication and influence at a senior level.
Ability to operate effectively in complex environments, coordinate activities, and build schedules to accommodate geographically dispersed teams.
Strong ability to perform in a high pace environment and multitask.
Strong team player, self-motivated, friendly, and enthusiastic disposition.
Expertise in using job-related software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in MS Word.
