Position Summary:
As a key member of the finance team, the Junior Accountant reports to the U.S. Controller and is responsible for assisting with everyday functions and tasks of the team, entering AP invoices, cash application, collections, invoicing and more. Successful performance and professional development in this role may lead to professional growth at ITW.
Primary Responsibilities:
Processes Accounts Payable invoices and maintains supplier contact
Manages cash application
Processes customer invoices and credit memos
Effectively communicates and coordinates the exchange of financial information to key stakeholders
Reports monthly Accounts Receivable (AR) aging reports and maintains aged balances within targets
Maintains customer contact to collect all outstanding payments
Manages and reports Sales & Use tax and tax audit requirements
Performs Accounts Payable disbursements
Performs month-end closing procedures and reporting
Completes other requests as needed
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; recent graduate with upward career aspirations
1-2+ years of accounting experience including general and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with standard office word processing, spreadsheets, and database software
Understanding and application of accounting principles/practices
Ability to analyze financial data
Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
Must be able to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required
