POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Product Management of Integrated Products within Associated Materials is organized by product category: Windows, Vinyl & Composite Siding and Metals. The role of the Business Director - Windows within Associated Materials is to own and direct the strategy, product portfolio and P&L for the Windows product category. Ownership of product business performance is in matrixed fashion with the commercial and operational segments. This role will serve as the leader of the cross-functional Windows Business Management Team. Key areas of accountability: * Drive product category to achieve/surpass financial goals. The primary financial metrics include net sales revenue dollars, contribution margin dollars and contribution margin percent. * Own list pricing. Monitor competitive price position, competitive pricing activity, costs and margins, working with the commercial, supply chain and manufacturing organizations to develop and maintain proper pricing and margins. * Develop and execute a strategic plan that drives market share gain and falls in line with Associated Materials' overall strategic direction. Develop a 3-year product roadmap as part of the annual planning cycle to evolve the category with new products and the retirement of aging products as appropriate. Prioritize and build business cases for growth opportunities. * Understand the competitive landscape. Build relationships with customers and field personnel throughout the entire distribution network (company-operated supply centers, independent distributors, home centers, national homebuilders, etc.). * Champion the new product development process for Windows. Evaluate proposed new products requests from the commercial organizations and cost savings opportunities from the engineering and quality organizations. * Work with the marketing team to develop marketing programs, literature and other sales aides to drive growth and/or margin expansion. * Participate in the forecasting process for financial forecasting and inventory planning. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS The Business Director - Windows will report to the SVP, Integrated Products. The Sr. Product Manager, Windows will be a direct report. This role will work daily with the commercial segments and frequently with other functions such as Engineering, Finance, Operations, and the company's senior management. Functional Operations Leaders: VP of Supply Chain, VP of Materials, VP of Quality, VPs of Manufacturing * * The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business (an MBA or other appropriate advanced degree is beneficial) and a strong track record of driving sustained, profitable growth in product or category management and/or P&L roles. The successful candidate will possess 7+ years or more of successful business experience in commercial areas of industry. The ideal candidate will have broad experiences within the building products industry and/or industrial distribution industry. Experience with a building products manufacturer or other consumer durable is desirable.
