JOB DESCRIPTION:
Will be responsible for the test and validation of core engine components for Large Power Systems Division (LPSD). Tests will encompass a variety of on-engine and bench testing for various core engine systems (including Valvetrain, Rotating Components, Cylinder Pack, Head & Block). Core Components form the foundation of every great engine. Our team of dedicated professionals ensures the foundation of every LPSD engine can stand the test of time in the toughest environments. Ultimately this enables our customers' success towards building a better world. Will perform project planning, hardware procurement, test planning, test execution, data analysis, report generation, and communication of conclusions & results - directly impacting the design of new products and processes. Will perform advanced component and dynamic testing (accels, strain, temp, pressure, motion, load & torque) and analysis (DATK, ME-SCOPE, LMS). Will work directly with multiple teams to validate new NPI & NTI engine programs and resolve CPI issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Master's degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field and 1 year of experience performing engineering in support of engines and mechanical systems. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related field. 3 years of experience performing engineering in support of engines and mechanical systems.
Position also requires 1 year of experience (which may have been gained concurrently) (1) working directly on engine structural dynamics test work; (2) industrial experience in data acquisition and digital signal processing; (3) rotating components vibration analysis; (4) IC engine order analysis; and (5) direct working experience with material fatigue and experience performing bolted joint analysis.
